Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum is the largest and most visited art museum in the Netherlands. Its collection, which ranks among the world’s finest, includes nearly 8,000 pieces spread over 80 galleries. Some of the Rijksmuseum’s most revered works are 15th- to 19th-century paintings by Flemish and Dutch masters, including Vincent Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Frans Hals, and Vermeer. In addition to the astounding eight centuries of Dutch art and history, the museum has extensive outdoor gardens and an acclaimed restaurant, Rijks.

Great tour with Janet!
We toured the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam with our guide Janet. She was awesome!!! Very knowledgeable and very personable!!! She showed us the highlights of the museum which was great since it began to get very crowded. We were a group of 8 so it was easy to hear her and enjoy what we were seeing. I recommend this type of tour unless you want to stay there all day.

Fabulous tour of the Rijksmuseum
The guide we had put the history of the Rijksmuseum in the context of the history of Amsterdam and the Netherlands. She was very knowledgeable about the artists featured at the museum like Rembrandt and Vermeer and their paintings. Highly educational and fascinating.
