Once the glorious capital of Minoan Crete and one of the most powerful cities in the eastern Mediterranean, ancient Knossos is a place steeped in legend. Today, it’s Crete’s largest and most important archaeological site, crowned by the hilltop Palace of Knossos—built around 2,000 BC—which reveals a fascinating history that stretches all the way back to the earliest European civilizations.

Very informative and lovely experience.
We had a lovely day spending time at the Palace of Knossos. Our tour guide, Eleni, was very knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable. Eleni also gave us a lot of information about the island and the city of Heraklion. I would have liked a bit more time at Knossos, but understand the constraints when touring to various places.

Lovely view of the Labyrinth
Very knowledgable guide, thorough but without wasting time! Only 4 of us in the group, beat all the big bus groups by arriving before 9.
