What are people saying about Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum

Very well executed tour.
Communication from the company was first class. Quick response and full information given. Driver was exactly on time and vehicle clean and well maintained. Our tour guide at Auschwitz and Birkenau was excellent, so detailed, passionate and professional, he really knew the museum and the facts and delivered it very well. I would certainly use Viator again for booking tours as they are very professional and organised.

Excellent experience!
Have used Viator in the past and once again it didn’t disappoint. I had trouble finding the pick up location (my hotel doesn’t allow minivan size however pick up location was not easy to find without google maps) and driver worked with me. Driver was professional and friendly. Van was clean and comfortable. Will use Viator again.

Good day out but very sombre.
First time visit, it was a good experience but at the same time very sombre. Unable to describe the conditions these people went through and very hard to get your head around what went on all those years ago. The trip itself was very well organised with clean combatable transport, with a great English speaking driver and guide.

A:Technically, entrance to Auschwitz is free. But during the high season—April to October—you’ll need to book a guided tour; these typically cost around $10 per adult. In the off-season (November to March), you can explore the grounds without a guide. That being said, exploring with a guide will greatly deepen your experience.
Q:Is the Auschwitz tour worth it?
A:Guided tours of Auschwitz are absolutely worth it—the docents are highly knowledgeable and will be able to answer all your questions. The 2.5-hour option includes the permanent exhibitions, buildings at the Auschwitz I-Main Camp, and the prisoner barracks and unloading platform at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. The 3.5-hour tour includes all of the above plus access to the gas chamber ruins and crematoria II or III.

Keep the significance of where you are in mind—nothing profane, nothing inappropriate—and you’ll be fine. Most visitors dress casually, for the weather, and for plenty of walking and standing. Dark colors are welcome but not necessary.
