Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve

Santa Fe, Puntarenas, 50503

The Basics

In an effort to protect the biodiverse swath of land and sea, visitors were initially prohibited from entering the park. Now, however, the number of visitors is capped to 40 per day, meaning that advance booking is essential. You can secure an admission ticket to the park by booking a tour that takes care of logistics such as transport and reservation, and increases your chances of spotting elusive wildlife.

How to Get There

The easiest way to reach the remote park is on a guided tour that includes hotel pickup and drop-off. However, if you’d prefer to visit the park on your own, you can drive to the park’s ranger station (just south of Cabuya) or take a bus from Montezuma to Cabuya and walk the rest of the way. Buses run on a limited schedule so be sure to ask about a return bus before you disembark.
