Designed by Frédéric Auguste Barthold and Gustave Eiffel (of Eiffel Tower fame), the Statue of Liberty came to the USA as a gift from France in honor of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Today, this 305-foot (93-meter) statue guards the entrance to New York Harbor on Liberty Island. “Lady Liberty,” and the land surrounding her was declared the Statue of Liberty National Monument in 1924.

The highlight of our week in NYC!
Our family of 11 ranging in age from 5 to 65 all enjoyed this privately guided tour by James. He knew how to expertly guide our group and meet our needs with humor, sensitivity, and confidence. The kids loved him, the grandparents had a blast (even with quite a bit of walking), and we appreciated his insider know-how (which we dubbed "James-hacks"). If you have a big party and want to experience the Statue of Liberty with ease. Don't hesitate to book this trip and get James if you can!

Great experience. Staff was kind, boat was clean, tour guide was very knowledgeable. Perfect for seeing the harbor, skyline, Ellis Island, and Statue of Liberty if you are short on time.
