The basics

The Monsenor Romero Center is a memorial to the martyrs of El Salvador’s civil war, specifically Archbishop Romero. Now a Catholic saint, Romero was assassinated for speaking out against the country’s violent dictatorship and guerilla forces. The Monsenor Romero Center on the UCA campus is different from the nearby Monsenor Romero Historical Center, which is Romero’s home and next to the chapel where he was assassinated.
