Only book this event on a Saturday or Sunday. They will cancel 24 hours prior if not enough tickets were sold. I booked a hotel room Sunday night and they canceled Sunday afternoon for a Monday morning whale watching tour..

We saw a small killerwhale family with two small ones, but what made the strongest impression on me was watching two humpback whales that inspectied us up close. They were amazing!

We got into a pod of 10 to 15 humpback whales feeding with a bunch of sea lions also feeding. We saw alot of action for about an hour. It was an awesome experience and loved every minute of it.

Disappointment...

Due to confusion with the name of the tour and where to go for the tour we were not able to make it in time for the departure. When calling we got the recording no refunds if late or bo show. I did not get to talk to anyone to see if we could make another tour. From my understanding that was not an option either. When calling Viator about our situation we fell into the land of audimated selections and got no where as well. My husband and I were and still are very disappointed. My tip: make sure without a shadow of a doubt you know exactly which BOAT and place you bought the tour for. There are tours that are named so similar that people can and do get them confused. It is clearly stated if you are late/no show too bad. I hope sharing our heartache and disappointment will help others not feel the way we felt. *I wish we could have had the chance to rate the tour.

Thank you for allowing us to change our booking at the last minute for a day earlier. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and was delighted we got to see humpback whales, it was a real thrill. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

It was a great experience. We were able to see grey whale multiple times. The tour guide tried to show us dolphins and shark fins but we couldn't make this time unfortunately.

Not worth the money

Whales would be coming near but the would move the boat awake or start being loud to where the whales would five and not show up again. Also no need to pay for the VIP as the experience is the same. Plus with basic ticket you can go in the front of the boat and see whereas with the VIP you can’t go the front of the boat on your floor. Also the basic ticket has better seating.

Incredible trip and a must when you visit Monterey! Pre trip information was well communicated. The crew was awesome, well informed and friendly. And mostly we saw an abundance of sea life, and had a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend this trip!

We had a great time. Boat was not at all crowded. The naturalists were ver informative. We saw both humpback and grey whales - had a whale in sight for at least 50% of the time. Highlight of the cruise was being right in amongst a raft of sea lions - several hundred of them jumping the surface like a pod of dolphins!
