Short on time but want to see two of Jordan's most impressive sights? This one-day tour from Amman to Petra and Wadi Rum may be the answer. Our driver Haitham was amazing and he made our trip to Petra and Wadi Rum awesome! Great car, genuine person and I highly recommend this trip and him. Jordan is amazing - nice people, great food and hospitality. Will definitely visit again and use this service!!

I had Zaid driving me around, I had a blast. We had 3.5 hours at Petra, if you walk really fast, or take golf carts roundtrip to the treasury, you will have enough time to hike to the monastery. Wadi Rum safari drive was out of this world as well. We left at 6.30am and I got back to the hotel around 7.30

For someone who wants to do the tour in one day

This is a long trip so be prepared for long hours in the car. Also this trip is not covered entry at Petra, which is 50JOD for the day. Notice driver will drop you off before the entrance and you to find your own way to buy ticket at the ticket office and you do not need a tour guide unless you absolutely need. There are tourists and tour guys in the larger group on the trail, so you could join in for the explanations of varies rocks structure and beware the local trying to get you to do stuffs. Thus this trip could be rush since you only certain amounts of hours to spend at the site. Btw food is not included in the itinerary. Recommendation to get the Jordan Pass if you are in Jordan for 3 days or more, so you can see all the sites. The cost is about 70JOD. Overall, it is a great trip. It would be better to stay a night in camp at wadi rum to see the stars at night and the beautiful sunrise. Also don’t hesitate to ask the driver to tell you the area along the way. Cheers

Awesome Day Trip

This tour was well worth it. Zaid our driver picked us up sharply from the hotel and they communicated the night prior to ensure we were all on the same page. Zaid was very nice and gave us good pointers along the way. He stopped to get us tea and pastries in the morning. By far, the most important pointer was hooking us up with a tour guide in Petra. He called and set it up while on our way to Petra. His name is Basil and he was AWESOME! Basil took us to all the perfect spots and he knows where all the good picture spots are. He takes very good pictures and that alone was worth every penny. *there is a good spot to take a picture of the Treasury that is a 3-5 minute hike up. You will likely have to pay a kid 10-15D to take you up. Do it! It’s well worth it! I attaching a photo. When we finished Petra Zaid was outside waiting for us with a Falafel sandwich that hit the spot! Wadi Rum is an amazing place. The driver will take you to 5 spots including a pit stop for tea. It’s Martian like desert with some crazy panoramas. On the way back Zaid recommended a good spot near our restaurant to try Mansaf(traditional lamb dish from Jordan). This was a local spot and very very good! Don’t forget to tip your tour guides!

It was an excellent tour and would highly recommend. John (Yakyum - Not sure if I am spelling it write) was superb and made our private trip memorable. He is the owner of the tour and had come by himself as one of the driver's vehicle had some issues. He took us around and made our trip a memorable one. He is a gentleman and excellent communication skills (in English).

Prompt communication, well organized tour, highly recommend this group. The drivers were prompt and courteous, drop offs and pick ups were on time. We hired a local guide in Petra (at the visitor's center for $40) and the guide at Wadi Rum was also fantastic.

Could be more interesting if you have good guide.

Guide could be better. Driver was good He had tough part. Guide in part was like He just wanted to finish the tour asap get tip and rest. And wadi rum guide had no Language or any history knowledge.

Thank you for your review, in Petra we don't choose the guide as it depends on who is it's turn, so the guide in there is not through us, we just book it for you. In the other hand, in Wadi Rum we deal with three of the best guides there who were all busy on that day, so we had to hire another guide, which we take responsibility for, we are very sorry about your experience and we hope that we can make it up to you in the future. It was very nice trip from Amman to Petra then to wadi rum our driver/guide Mr. Yahia was very nice and gave us so much information. Another guide/driver for 4by 4 ATV in desert Mr. Metaeb was very funny and nice. Altogether it was worth booking this tour through viator and getting Yahia and Metaeb for the tour. What you came to see will obviously be memorable but what makes it unforgettable or one to forget is the service received. Started a bit rocky at first. I would’ve preferred knowing before hand time of pickup and driver information without having to request it. Driver went to the wrong pickup location initially, we all have our bad days, and I’m just going to right this off as just that a bad day. The team did call and apologize which most won’t do. Esmat was superb!!! From his calmness to information about the area and awesome driving skills! The tours we’re great and my guy at the Rum tour was great. All in all the experience was awesome and I would without a doubt recommend anyone and everyone to book this tour.

A PERFECT day tour to Petra and Wadi Rum. Our driver Yahia was great! Very responsive to texts that made our tour fabulous. The van was clean and very comfortable for us, a family of 4. We never felt rushed and enjoyed our time. Our guide in Petra very knowledgeable and the guide in Wadi Rum was fun and took GREAT photos and videos of us! Overall, a memorable experience in Jordan!

I don't like tours with a large number of travelers, so I found this option with Jordan drive tribe, it was an excellent decision, Zaid's attention was very good, always giving advice and pending if we needed anything, we also had a wadi rum guide to Muhannad who was also excellent, we had a lot of fun, we had a great time and I would definitely look for them again when I got back.

Great Trip from Amman to Wadi Rum via Petra

We had a great time on our trip from Amman to Petra to Wadi Rum, Zaid pick us up at our hotel and brought us to Petra via the kings highway Jordan, which has so many amazing things to see. I am scared of heights and bendy roads due to a few bad experiences in Central America and a general fear of heights but Zaid put me at ease and glad we went that way. Petra was great and we went from there to wadi rum and had a 4x4 trip in the desert where we got to do and see what we had anticipated and thought the place was so unusual and definitely worth the visit. We got back to Amman in great time only took about 3 hours from wadi rum, just in time for a few cocktails and beers!

Our tour guide and driver were great. We stayed in Egypt for 10 hrs. They gave us a detailed instruction on what to do. Also, they made it possible for us to visit another site that was in our bucket list , a church that they were not even familiar with. They picked and dropped us off the airport . They made us feel safe. Also, pls be reminded that there are 3 security lanes in the airport: male, female, and family. Make sure you are at the right lane. Also, pls make your tip handy to make your security check in smooth.

Excellent option to see Petra and Wadi Rum in one day.

Highly recommend this tour package if you are short on time but want to see both Petra and Wadi Rum! Yahia and Ramiz took excellent care of us, going above and beyond to make sure our group had a perfect day. They were accommodating, flexible, and were a pleasure to spend time with. Our experience at the sites was exceptional, thanks to their knowledge and planning. They made sure we saw the best views, avoided crowds when possible, and had food, water, and restroom breaks as needed. I would absolutely book with Jordan Drive Tribe again!
