My wife and I were a little hesitant on this tour mainly because we didn’t want to have to sit on buses or terminals for hours waiting to crops the border. The transfer from Amman to the border crossing was smooth, the driver picked us up on time at the hotel. However, the crossing took approx. 2 hours. Mostly sitting on a bus waiting for it to fill up. Getting across was simple but there were some wait times involved and various check points. Once we made it through, our driver was waiting for us to take us to our meeting point in Jerusalem with our tour guide Michael. Michael was amazing! He is very knowledgeable and informative. My wife and I did a one day tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem from Amman and Michael took us to all the important sites in both places. It was a rainy and cold day but he was a trooper the whole time and took his time giving us the history of each place we visited. Michael took us to the best Falafel spot in Bethlehem for lunch and to an awesome store to purchase olive wood items. Well done Michael! The transfer back to Amman was a lot quicker. Probably 30 minutes in all. Driver was a little late picking us up but communicated well. *Don’t forget to tip your your guides

Jerusalem , Bethlehem Tours

John, the driver who pick us up from our hotel was very pleasant and very nice in explaining things around especially someone who will meet us on the Israel side since he can not join us to cross the border. We highly recommend his service to us. As soon as we enter the Allenby inspection, it cost a lot of delay due to high risk of inspection on the Israeli part and it took us more than 2 hours before we met our Israeli side driver. He doesn’t talked much because he was always on the phone until our tour guide came in. Martin, our tour guide said since we came in late and he understands the long delay of inspection from the border and Immigration check too. I was disappointed because I booked this tour that includes the tour up in the Golden Mosque and he said we can not do it. They close at 10:30 am, we arrived past 11:00 am. He tried his best to go take us to the most important locations. Over all, the tour was very pleasant and my friends was in awe to see the holy sites. Thanks. Lito M.

Getting through the borders was somewhat confusing. We were not told about the shuttle bus and its cost prior to the trip or where to meet the tour guide upon arriving. How ever the driver, Ahmed, who picked us up at our hotel was wonderful and very helpful. The tour guide, Maharen, was absolutely fabulous. He was very knowledgeable, personal and accommodating to our needs. Also the operator was quick to reply to our emails. A great experience!

A great day gaining knowledge of history of Jerusalem and Bethlehem . Thoroughly enjoyed it and I saw far more than I anticipated . Totally recommend for a quick trip from Jordan to the Holyland , travelling over the border was not an issue which made the day stress free

Awesome!

We had a fantastic day on this trip. Both our driver to the border, Mahmoud, and on the Israel side, Nabeel was great and deserve top marks for their efforts. The same goes for our guide in Jerusalem and Bethlehem but I have unfortunately forgotten his name. We got to see the most awesome things thanks to these guys and the trip as a whole was completely fabulous. Blown away by the sites and history which have insight into the past and present. It was simply a wonderful experience.

short trip due to confusion at border crossing
Venkata V, Jan 2020
Hello, Once we got to Israel we enjoyed our trip even though it turned out to be only for a few hours. the travel company did not inform us of the lenthly process at the border. their driver just dropped us off outside the gate and left. It was like we had to fetch for ourselves in a new country where we did not speak the local language. the entire border crossing process took almost 3 hours due to which we reached israel only around 11:30am and had to be back at the border around 5pm. Which someone had guided us better. this is the process we went through - once we were dropped outside the gate we went inside a room there from no where a man approached us and said he would help us and asked for our passports - reluctantly we gave it to him and then he disappeared. 30 mins later he found him again and then he said we had to sit in a bus and we would given our passport on the bus. Asked us for tips for helping us out. we gave him $10 but he wasnt satisfied and hence had to pay more. We went and sat on the bus and 30 mins later a guy comes in with a huge set of passports and calls out the names from the passport to see if they were on that bus. this process took another 30-50mins. after that the bus driver came and told him to pay for the bus ticket. Even here we ended up paying more due to their accent. He asked us if we wanted a "back" ticket but he actually meant "bags" and ended up spending $22 extra for bags that we didnt have. this entire process was such a waste of time and not even one person guided us or advised us about this. Felt the tour operator could have informed about the same. We spent additional $100 per person at the border crossing.

Thank you so much, looking forward to have you, your family, and friends again with us again soon. I am sorry about your experience, kindly note we do not have anything to do with immigration procedures. We explain the border crossing to all our clients and the steps to expect, but if passport control holds a passport for further investigation, there is nothing we can do. There is not tip, the driver was asking you if you had luggage (bags) as there is a fee to pay per bag if you have, which is not included. Exit fees are also not included as mentioned. Also note that private services and transportation for this tour is higher than group visits and tours. Hope I have clarified your particular situation.
A wonderfull experience !!

This was a disaster. We didn't make...
Carolyn B, Nov 2017
This was a disaster. We didn't make it over the boarder crossing King Hussein Bridge/ Allenby Bridge as they didn't accept the Jordanian visa we obtained through the walking tour group we were doing other stuff with later in our stay in Jordan. The visa we obtained was a Collective Visa which is a valid visa but only allows you to cross the border from the southern or northern border crossings - not valid for the King Hussein Bridge/ Allenby Bridge. Crazy! We didn't know about the different visas you don't know what you don't know and therefore thought we were fine we answered yes to the questions we were asked by the Jordanian travel agency - not once did they ask if we had a Collective visa that was arranged by the walking tour group we hiked with in Jordan we thought it was paid for as part of our tour price. The agency just asked if we had a paid visa which we thought we had with the Collective visa until we fronted the boarder crossing people and were turned away. The same issue happened with another person we met. You MUST have a paid-up Visa - i.e. pay 40JOD at the airport or where you crossed into Jordan. In the end we lots our money full price! and a lot of time. We were very distressed by the whole experience.
Response from Host, Oct 2017
TOUR OPERATOR COMMENT: I am really sorry for the misunderstanding. I understand the frustration despite the fact that we offered the option to cross the north bridge, but this client refused. This issue of the border crossing is not in our control and we have to abide by the rules at all times. We have this note mentioned clearly in the product under Additional Info sector, and one of our staff asked client when they reconfirmed the tour specifically if they had individual paid visa entry to Jordan of 40 JOD (approximately 60 USD per person). Please note all clients need to have a paid visa and not a collective free visa entry to Jordan to cross Alenby Bridge. Hope the above is clear for all who will book this tour. Thank you, Zaid Tours.
