What To Expect

Make your way to the centrally located meeting point, hop aboard a classic wooden saloon boat, and settle in for a relaxing journey through Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed canals.

Your cruise begins by gliding along the Prisnegracht, past landmarks such as the Anne Frank House (Anne Frank Huis), before continuing down the Bloemgracht, Amstel, Herengracht, Singel, and Keizersgracht. Take in sights along the way of key attractions such as as De 9 Straatjes, Rijksmuseum, Skinny Bridge (Magere Brug), and Bloemenmarkt. Your guide points out each landmark, and fills you in on its history, as you cruise and enjoy nibbling on the included cheese platter and sipping unlimited beer, wine, and soft drinks.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

The tour was excellent. Everyone got a huge cheese plate with mustard to dip the cheese. They had a great selection of wine and poured generously. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. They conveyed the information in a fun way so as to keep us all engaged. The stories were hilarious as well as interesting. I absolutely enjoyed this canal cruise and would recommend it to anyone who visits Amsterdam. The best time is evening so you can see the lights.

Canal Cruise Experience

Service, humor, wine and cheese were all great. 4 stars because the stairs into the boat were so narrow and steep. My husband missed the last step and almost fell, twisting his knee. Probably just the way all these boats are built, not the fault of crew, but maybe a little more hands on help for older people.

I enjoyed the cruise and the wine/cheese, but was left with a very bitter taste in my mouth from the experience when I went to use the toilet on board and upon leaving the skipper started shaming me for flushing with toilet paper - "Well now I have to go pick it out by hand since you clogged the toilet." No one warned us of this rule during the entire hour a large group was on board. Disappointed that the staff felt the need to be rude due to their own neglicence.

Cheese and wine were great, and the guides were fun and kept it upbeat the whole time with interesting topics about Amsterdam. Only negative was that it was a bit confusing to find where we were supposed to be, as there are two of the same company cruises on two opposite canals in the same place, and the workers were all in the boat, so it was unclear if the line we joined was the right one. Thankfully, it was and we had a great time!

Regrettable Choice

I would not recommend this cruise. The boat was crowded and there was little room to move, if at all. Windows were fogged up and it was difficult to see anything during the cruise. The boat is not easy for seniors or those with mobility limitations to get in or out of - large drop down and difficult high step up are easily maneuverable by younger people but problematic if you are older, not in shape, or have joint issues.

Absolutely our favorite thing we did in Amsterdam. The cheese and wine tour was wonderful, the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable and provided many laughs. The boat was super comfortable and luxurious, and definitely a better experience than some of the others we observed around town. We went on this tour as a family including a small kid (age 2) and it was great and very easy. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for the best experience in a canal tour.
