A brilliant tour, plenty of walking but a great chance to see plenty of history. Panos was a great guy, so knowledgeable and interesting, he is a funny and charming guy too. Highly recommend this tour.

Mylene_G, Jan 2024
Amazing guided tour that completes very well the acropolis tour. I would say it is a must. What we learn is key take away from Athene. The guide goes over every aspect of the sites we pass by, including the interesting parts on background and history and anecdotes, over and above their connections with ancient Athens creation of democracy and spur of philosophy. We feel blessed to have had the chance to join this tour.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Dear Mylene, thanks fo your kind words, it's been a pleasure for me as well. All the best to both of you!

We enjoyed Pannos broad view of history and philosophy. He was very engaging and entertaining. We were very keen to see where the key philosophy figures walked and lived and we were not disappointed.

The old and the new
jane_t, Dec 2023
Knowledgeable and friendly guide who was happy to answer all our myriad questions and this tour does provoke a lot of questions! It felt very personal as there were only 5 people in our group. Very interesting to learn about Ancient Greek theories on culture and science and its relevance to today while we walked around the sites. We did the tour ahead of going inside the sites (you can see the sites from outside while on the tour) - helpful to know whether you do want to visit. We walked around the sites in a way which we would not have done ourselves
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Hi Jane, many thanks, i am glad you enjoyed it! Best regards.

A very interesting tour, and Panos was a very good guide/instructor. An excellent way to learn about the ancient sites in Athens beyond the Acropolis.

100% recommended, if you're interested in the social, cultural and political aspects of Classical Greece, this is amust!
Alana_M, Oct 2023
Amazing tour, it was one of our trip highlights. Panos was a very knowledgeable and geneouse tour guide. It felt like walking around the hills of Athens with Plato himself, discussing about matters that sometimes the normal tour guides forget about but what we found were super interesting. If you want to really understand where the bases of democracy come from, how was life in Ancient Greece and how those principles shape our civilization, this tour is a must!
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Hi Alana, i am really glad you enjoyed it! Best wishes.

Panos was an incredible, kind and deeply knowledgable guide. I was so lucky to have the opportunity to have a 1-1 tour where Panos asked me what I was interested in learning, tailored the tour and answered my endless stream of questions. His deep understanding of the development of democracy and philosophy paired with his amusing ancient anecdotes brought everything to life and sparked a curiosity in me that I will take with me. I could not recommend more highly Panos' tour to those who are looking to learn more and take lessons that go beyond surface level tourism in Athens.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Hello Kai, thanks for your kind words, it was a pleasure meeting you as well. All the best!

Omar_Z, Oct 2023
This tour was amazing; it was the true highlight of our trip to Athens. Panos offered us insight into history and philosophy on a lovely walking tour- we walked and had thoughtful discussions as the ancient Greeks did! Panos is as friendly as he is knowledgeable. We were thoroughly satisfied with this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Dear Omar, it's a great pleasure for me to hear such comments, thank you!
We were taken back in time.
Paula_B, Oct 2023
What a great experience being in Athens and hearing stories, myths and facts about Athenian daily life. We were given information that will stay with us forever. We loved the Pythagorean cup story with Panos’ show-and-tell adding a hands on demonstration to seal the story! We ran and bought cups to bring home and share with our families! We couldn’t have asked for a better tour, the 3 hours just went by too quickly.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Hello, Paula, glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and the cup (guess you will have fun with it but mind the carpets!). Best wishes.
Very interesting and engaging tour.
Danilo_B, Oct 2023

Best tour we have done in Greece. Our guide (Panos) was extremely knowledgeable and passionate in the delivery of that knowledge. Made ancient Greek civilisation and the ancient relics we were looking at come alive. Thanks so much.
Response from Host, Oct 2023

Informative, Thoughtful, and Impactful
Danielle_R, Sep 2023
We were looking for a tour that provided more than just a general overview of each of the major sites in Greece, and Panos' tour was a perfect fit. Not only does he take you to the main sites, but Panos tells Greece's philosophical history along with its major democratic elements in such a way that connects these things with thoughtful insights about how you can bring these themes to be impactful in your own personal life. He is very knowledgeable and thoughtful in his approach. This is a must-do when visiting Athens!
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Hi Danielle, thank you for your kind words (and the advice you gave me)! My best regards to both of you!
entertaining and enlightening
Elizabeth_D, Sep 2023
Panos’ tour was excellent, full of interesting detail and local colour. He brought sights to life that would otherwise have been moderately interesting but probably passed by quickly. We learnt a lot and were very entertained!
