Overview

Experience life under the Caribbean Sea on the Atlantic Submarine! On your 40-minute journey, you’ll be submerged to depths of over 100 feet (30 meters), passing vibrant corals, tropical fish, and a sunken shipwreck. Your expert co-pilot will explain facts about the marine life and reef while you descend into the ocean. This is a unique opportunity to see the deep sea, usually only accessible to scuba divers, within a safe, dry vessel.

What To Expect

The Atlantis Submarine is an unforgettable way to get far below the surface and experience marine life in Barbados with no certifications required.

When you arrive at the docks at Shallow Draught, you’ll see the submarine surface before boarding the vessel. Take your seat in the air-conditioned submarine and get ready for your underwater adventure to begin.

First you will submerge to about 55 feet (17 meters) and admire colorful coral reefs and marine animals, like fish and turtles, through the large windows. Throughout the 40-minute ride, the co-pilot will share knowledge about the submarine, the reef and the creatures that inhabit it.

The submarine continues its descent all the way to about 150 feet (45 meters) to see a shipwreck, normally only accessed by scuba divers. You will be able to see this sunken treasure up-close, and observe the marine life that now inhabits the vessel. After taking in the wreck, you will resurface and be transferred back to Shallow Draught. Receive an Atlantis Submarines Dive certificate to commemorate your adventure.

This is first tour in the Caribbean to be awarded a double Green Certification from Green Globe International.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

First time in a submarine...

First time in a submarine and it was fabulous experience. Saw a ship wreck, turtles, barracuda and lots of fish. Super friendly crew and you get your own sitting spot and window!

Unnecessarily Cramped. Only go if the tour is half full.

The advertisement says that the group size is 24, but there was more than 40. If everyone onboard was under 100 lbs it may have been fine, but it was very uncomfortable with average size adults. We were squuezed in much tighter than the middle seat on a budget airplane flight. It would have been great if not if they had moderated the group size for comfort. We did get to see a lot of fish and got down to 130 feet.

Few fish ,two turtles though! Could not hear captain due to crappy PA system. All the set up for only 1/2 hour in Sub. I thought it was expensive for what it was.

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry you didn't get to see more. It being a natural environment, one cannot guarantee what will be seen while onboard. The time spent underwater is generally 40 minutes. The experience of going to 150 feet safely in the longest operating submarine in the world is deemed much worth to many, including divers. The issue with the P.A. System has been directed to our technical team who will ensure its proper function. Sorry your expectations weren't met on this occasion.

The tour was great I have no complaints, the only drawback is that I didn't get to see any octopuses or any bigger Marine wildlife but that's not the fault of the tour company obviously LOL

go book on the street. You wont have to pay a transpotation fee. The web site says you get opicked up and then after the fact they hit you with transportation fee. 38.00 in our case.

This was the most wild...

This was the most wild and coolest thing we did! We saw coral reef and ship wreck and lots of fish. The waters were so clear and we reached a depth of 132 feet below sea level. Definitely recommend!

I loved journeying to the deep 137ft. But it ended too early for us. Wish we saw more than 1 turtle. The fishes were great 👍 HOWEVER I would still recommend to friends

We spend 40 mins underwater which most people find manageable given that there are no bathrooms on board and given sea conditions you are able to see the marine life. Useless as a chocolate tea pot

Viator as helpful as a chocolate tea pot. Ad states hotel pick up possible but Viator rep couldn't provide a time but merely passed me back to the operator without any contact details. Easier and more helpful to book direct.
