What To Expect

Depart central Bergamo by air-conditioned coach, and journey east toward Verona, the setting for Shakespeare’s tragic Romeo and Juliet.

On arrival, enjoy a walking tour of the highlights hidden in the UNESCO-listed streets. See Juliet’s House, the 13th-century, balconied house associated with Shakespeare’s fictional heroine, gazing at what’s known as Juliet’s Balcony and imagining the two ill-fated lovers. Admire the Roman Arena, the massive 1st-century amphitheater in the old town, and learn how it’s still used for summer concerts.

After the tour, enjoy some free time, perhaps relaxing over lunch (own expense), going shopping, or viewing Verona’s Renaissance palaces, towers, and other Roman ruins.

Then, drive to Sirmione, a picturesque town on Lake Garda. The Romans made this area a vacation hotspot, and their legacy is still part of the town’s attraction.

Enjoy time to explore independently, ambling down the medieval streets or visiting Scaligera Castle (own expense) the 13th-century moated castle. Alternatively, visit Sirmione’s Roman Villa (own expense), the remains of a 1st-century holiday home nestled in olive groves. Stroll around the ruins and visit the museum to see the treasures found here, including mosaics and carvings.

Finally, return to Bergamo, where your tour ends at the starting point.

Served my purpose!
Ann_G, May 2024
This booking served my purpose of seeing both places in one day without using public transit or taxis. The walking tour was okay, but it was raining heavily. Just be advised that the walking distance from and to the bus is long, which could be a problem for some people.
Fantastic Trip
Anne_W, Apr 2024
Everything. The trip was on schedule with nice timing at the different places. Good opportunities to try other ways to enjoy they rip by the clear speaking, knowledgable guide.
Great time

We had an absolutely amzing time, evening was very well organized, a lot of local knowledge. Totally recommend.
What an awful experience
Carouselle_T, Feb 2024
This is an awful company. The instruction and meeting place is very confusing I tried to call the tour provider but they did not respond to the call. They should at least refund hld of our money as there are 4 of us on that trip. It was also raining on that day. So we all got wet waiting for a bus in a bus stop. I would not recommend this tour to anybody
Disappointing tour.

The tour guide in Verona was wonderful! He was extremly knowledgeable and quite humerous. We loved his stories. The tour director on the bus was totally disconnected and didn't seem to enjoy her work.
WONDERFUL CITIES : VERONA AND SIMIONE.

Monica, our tour guide, from Milano to Verona and lake Garda was excellent. Very knowledgeable of the region, and she provided very useful information. In addition, she is a caring person. A lady in the group needed to go to the restroom in the last minute. She asked Monica to hold her ice cream (gelato) while she went to the toilet. With the heat, the ice cream was melting and Monica spoiled her blouse and clothing. She took it with a smile. She went above and beyond her duties. Sad to see that at the end of the tour many people did not tip the driver or the tour guide. A recommendation is to make this tour longer. A nice lunch or dinner with all the group would have been perfect. We needed a rest with the strong sun and there were too many beautiful places to see. Verona and Lake Garda should be done in a longer tour.

Anda_D, May 2023
Even if the weather was rainy, we enjoyed our trip because the tour was well organised and well balanced, but mostly because Andrea, our charismatic guide in Verona, was nothing short of amazing ! He blended historical facts with juicy tidbits and he made the tour both engaging and instructive.
Excellent

A lovely day trip to two beautiful places… our guide was very knowledgeable… also did a lovely boat trip on lake Garda which is offered as an add on but well worth it.
Incredibly helpful staff and driver
Jennifer_E, May 2023
We actually missed the trips because we got confused by the bus system and took a taxi to the wrong piazza! However, I would like to say that the woman on the phone was incredibly helpful and the driver waited for us until we realised we were in completely the wrong place. They are the reason I gave this trip 5 stars. Please thank them and give them a bonus!
Brilliant day
Rebecca_S, Apr 2023
What a wonderful day. Starting with the lovely driver of our minibus to make the connecting bus, to the tour guides who were full of knowledge. Both buses spotlessly clean, plenty of things to see and do with a little bit of time to yourselves. Bonus was the boat trip at Lake Garda. The tour is definitely worth doing and would happily do it again.
Fantastic trip to beautiful Verona and Lake Garda
mereport, Apr 2023
This was a fantastic day trip with the most knowledgeable guides. Andrea and sorry I forgot the other gentleman. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time in Verona and Lake Garda.
Great day trip
Sue_W, Apr 2022
The tour to Verona was wonderful with it's rich and complex history. Our guide Maximo provided detail and insight to all of the amazing sites. Bus was comfortable, modern. lake Garda was a relaxing place to stroll around the lake and town.
great tour!
Gordana_B, Jan 2020
Took this tour from Bergamo. Serena was great! It was a pleasure to have her as a guide. She told us a lot of interesting things about the history of Verona and the veronese region, as well as about Lombardy. I had also time to explore Verona & Sirmione by myself. It was a great plus that the weather was excellent! I would strongly recommend this tour!
Well organised and worth going
HazelMelanie_R, Jun 2019
A nice day to spend the day in Verona and Sirmione. The tour guides kathy and mauro were very knowledgeable about the places and helpful in suggesting places to check out. Timings were good and well spaced out. You dont feel too rushed.

Mirna N, Dec 2017
Good guides, but it was cloudy, very cold and there were too many people in Verona. We also could not go on the boat trip at Sirmione due to bad weather which was a disappointment. Wish we had more time in Sirmione
