Great day out
Cathie_I, May 2024
The Lookout in San Sebastián was an amazing view. Saint Jean du Luz was quaint. Our tour guide Josu was a font of local information and able to advise on local points of interest. We felt very safe in his vehicle considering the distances, traffic and wet weather on the day.
Enjoyable trip but couldn’t understand our guide
Richard_L, May 2024
Each of the 3 cities were charming and definitely worth a visit. However, our Basque guide had quite an accent and we had trouble understanding his English.
Good trip worth it !

This was an amazing experience with an amazing tour guide! The weather in the beginning was rainy but still saw amazing views. We had just enough time in every town to walk around, sit in a Cafe and take beautiful pictures. If you love the ocean this is an amazing tour for you! All the people were so nice and I would love to do this again!
Seeing Basque Country
Deborah_H, Nov 2023
This was a wonderful full day tour of the Basque Country and a great way to see these areas if you have limited time. From Bilbao, we drove to Biarritz, France and then on to Saint Jean De Luz and then the last stop was San Sebastián. We had a sufficient amount of time in each place although spent the most time in San Sebastián - our primary reason for selecting this tour. The beach in San Sebastián was great as was the town.

Tour guide was knowledgeable and tried to squeeze as much itinerary in the limited time. As other reviews had mentioned, less time could be spent on Saint Jean De Luz to save some time at San Sebastian.
Biarritz and San Sebastian in a rush
MariaTeresa_G, Sep 2023
Although our guide Jesus was very nice and available, I thought the tour was very rushed . We hardly had time to have a coffee in Biarrtiz or to visit the town. In San Sebastian the bus left us at the bus station and we had to walk 20 minutes to the center of the city under much rain ( not the tour's fault, the rain). We arrived there at 15.30 and it was very difficult to find a place to have lunch other than pintxos, all the restaurants kitchens were already closed. We were a group of 5 ladies over 65 and then we had to make another 20 minute walk, under rain , in a rushed pace, back to the bus station. We tried to pick a taxi ou Uber but none was available, it was San Sebastian Cinema Festival 1st day. All in all it was rushing from a place to another and we didn't have any time to visit the places. All we saw was from the bus. I don't recommend this tour for older people or people with disabilities. It was all very tiring and you don't get to see the places.
Beautiful drive to interesting towns
CARLA_S, Sep 2023
Guide referred to Koons’ Terrier as the “poopy”, which was a scream. Napoleon’s “trops” more comprehensible. Long beautiful drive with interesting stops. No idea why we only got 30 minutes each in Biarritz and St Jean de Luz—which required quite a sprint and almost cost us the church of Louis XIV’s marriage—and then we got 2-1/4 hours in San Sebastian, which was rather a lot. Also disappointed that Viator made me buy two tickets, and did not permit a solo ticket, which was very expensive. There were 47 tourists on the bus, so they were hardly short.
So so excursion
Mark_S, Sep 2023
Should have stayed in St Jean de Luz longer and had our lunch there instead of San Sebastian. Tour guide was hard to understand at times. Bus was great...very safe

Should skip St Jean de Luz. Only stopped to visit a sweet shop and then we where rushing to get back to the bus in San Sebastián.
Amazing places!
evelynestevez, Sep 2023
Biarritz was the best part for me. We can't spend enough time in San Sebastian. Most of the time was for lunch. I suggest not include Jean de Luz in the tour, nothing to see there and stay more time in the other two places.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
thanks a lot for your comments, really appreciate it. Yes thanks a lot, we take note on your opinion about Saint Jean de Luz and review of the tour content for the future if necessary. We hope to see you again.
Avarage tour
metin_m, Sep 2023
San Sebastian view from the hilltop , Biarritz was nice . The no wifi bus was a very büg disappointment, ehy it had wifi availavle no idea
Response from Host, Sep 2023
thanks a lot for your comments. We are happy that you liked the destinations and tour in general and that the only negative point was that the bus did not have WIFI. I am sorry, but as you can see into the tour content and description that you booked, the WIFI into the bus is not included at any point. Thanks for your understanding
Misleading tour description
Alexander_K, Aug 2023
Eventhough the tour guide tried his best and I can't say anything bad about him, he was just put in the wrong place. The 70% of the explanation was in Spanish and the guide's English was very poor. When we booked the excursion, the description said that tour is in English! Waste of time and money is this sense.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Thanks a lot for your comments. The tour is both in english and Spanish and the explanations that are given are exactly the same since it is a regulated content. Sometimes if a client asks something specific at any point during the tour to the guide, he explains that to him in their language, but I can guarantee you that as for the official explanations, it is explained exactly the same in both languages. And as for the english language the guide has an strong accent, but the english is correct and perfectly understandable. It is difficult to change the accents if you are not from an english speaking country, but this is something that we take note and will try to improve of course. We hope that as far as the rest of the tour, the included gourmet tasting, the views from mount Igueldo, the bus service, the cities, attention etc....was of you liking and that you had a nice day. kind regards
Good choice

Sunny day trip on the Basque coast
Kate_C, May 2023
From our base in Bilbao, we booked this day trip along the coast to Biarritz, St Jean de Luz & Sean Sebastian. We had about 20 of so people on the bus, from various locations across Europe and beyond. Our guide was informative and helpful, and our driver was experienced. Each of the locations was introduced, with some history and local information, and there were visits arranged to places of interest including Basque chocolates and desserts, wines, cheeses, and recommended places to eat. In addition, there were several stops at good vantage points to enable visitors to take photos. In all, a good day out!
Response from Host, Sep 2023
we are really happy to read you, thanks a lot for your comments. Hope to see you again
OK but I expected a more personalized service in a small and more manegable group
mon, May 2023
I contracted a minibús as advertized and to my surprise we had to take a big bus with 37 persons! The tour guide said “sorry we had too many People.” Even though the guide was knowledgable about the places we visited and was friéndotelo he lacked autonomy to take decisions that required prompt actions without having to call Up his boss, as for example when a few passengers did not show up at at the agreed time. The places visited were very good.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear client, thanks a lot for your comments and remarks. Yes some clients were late and delayed the tour a lot, sorry for the inconvenience. When we have a few, people we use minivan but then we adeccuate the transportation type according to the number of bookings that we have. There is no indicated limitation of passengers, even though the groups are usually reduced. 1st of may being bank holiday was a demanded date. We hope that you enjoyed the tour and hope to see you soon.
Good tour , poor communication
Greg_D, May 2023
The tour started with a big foul up that almost caused us to miss the full day tour. We purchased the tour from Viator and all documentation indicated we would be picked up at a city hotel (there were many choices for pickup location). When we weren’t picked up at the designated time, I called the tour operator. Somehow we and two other tour participants had not received information that the pickup point was changed. They were able to reroute the bus, but it delayed the tour. Not sure if it was a Viator problem or local tour operator. Once we got on the bus, about 30 pax, the trip went well. A long day but the guide was very accommodating and informative. Worthwhile stops, and some great viewpoints. One thing that should be communicated in advance is that it requires about 2 km of walking from bus depot to your site. Some passengers had difficulty with that.
Response from Host, May 2023
thanks a lot for your comments and review. We had a varied group of clients and all of them correctly waited at the designated meeting points. It is really unusual that you did not receive the same information as the others, since this is an automatized booking platform. Nonetheless, we sent the bus back to pick you up as you have noted and then we extended the tour longer to make up for the lost time in the process. The exact distance from the bus station to the old town is 650 meters, about 8 minutes of normal walk. But it took 30 minutes because our guide accommodated your partner who had mobility problems and was walking really much slower than usual and compared to the rest of the clients. All the tourist groups that come with a bus to San Sebastian have to do this 8 minutes walk (in normal walking conditions) since this is the only place allowed where buses can stop with clients. We hope that you enjoyed the tour in general and as well the special tasting of Pantxineta that we included. Hope to see you again.
A drive away from Bilbao and short stops along the way.
gary_r, Mar 2023
Trip covers a lot of ground and gave us an idea where we would like to return to spend more time. There isn't much time to waste in any stop on the route. Joshu was a good driver and made efficient use of the time. He has a great amount of experience all over the world and is a local to Bilbao area. We are glad to have met him. We enjoyed the outing and would recommend it to those seeking an outing away from Bilbao.
