What To Expect

Begin your tour with pickup from your Bogota hotel in time for a 7am departure. Traveling by private vehicle, set out on the around 2.5-hour journey, pausing along the way to admire the views and see the 16th-century Boyaca colonial bridge.

Arrive in Villa de Leyva and follow your guide on a walking tour of the historic village, renowned for its impressive central square and beautifully preserved colonial architecture. Pay a visit to the Terracotta House, a striking clay house designed by architect Octavio Mendoza and considered the largest piece of pottery in the world. Finally, take a tour of the Dinosaur Village, where the serene desert landscapes are dotted with scale models of dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Velociraptor.

Continue to nearby Sutamarchan village, famous for its annual tomato fight, where you’ll have chance to sample delicious regional specialties for lunch (not included).

After lunch, the final stop of the day is Raquira village, where you’ll have free time to stroll the village, take photos of the brightly painted houses, and browse the shops for traditional art and handicrafts.

On return to Bogota, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Un Viaje por el Interior de Colombia

Un tour increíble donde se puede conocer el interior de Colombia, sus bellos paisajes e villas! Pensé que el tour iba directamente a Villa de Leyva, a 4 horas de Bogotá, lo que me parecía agotador. Pero no, el tour es muy agradable, el guía/motorista Ángel convertió el tour en un viaje por todos los pueblos de Colombia! La primeira parada fue en la Represa del Sisga, donde hay un restaurante con un tamal delicioso! Después paramos en un valle, hasta que llegamos a la Villa de Leyva, qué lugar hermoso! En el regreso, aún paramos en Ráquira, con sus tiendas coloridas y muchas artesanías, y después Ubaté, dónde probé la sopa de mazorca. Un tour excelente de día entero, de las 7h de la mañana a casi las 7h de la noche, pero fue el tour que me hizo ver las bellezas de Colombia además de Bogotá!
