Excellent snorkeling with easy access from the shady beach. Learning to fish was an adventure! Host was gracious answering numerous questions about Bonaire. He did a great job of grilling the fish in the beach. Thanks for a great morning In Bonaire.

My guide Frans is a Dutchman who has just moved to the island for a few years, but his lifestyle is very traditional and sophisticated. He took me to beach with his family and friends. Frans prepared a fish tape and led me to snorkel fishing from the shallow sea to a lil deep section. There will be a detailed explanation before the start. The physical strength is medium-high, and it is very important that one is able to snorkel 30 meters above the sea without panic. We mainly caught grouper, which lasted for an hour and a half. Pots were ready on the shore, put onions and vegetables in the oil pan, and cleaned the fish with salt and marinated to deep-fry until the bones were crispy.
Watching the children running around in the sunset, the fried fish in my hand was very delicious, and there was no fishy smell at all. It was a very happy sense of satisfaction in life, especially, it was the fish I caught by myself. After dinner, there were snacks and baked tortillas with hot cheese. And, there were pelicans flying on the sea, a mouthful of cold beer, everything was beautiful. When night fell and driving back home, I felt that such a life at the moment was a long-awaited shalem. This activity is strongly recommended. At present, only Frans on the island does this event, it is super unique and it is perfect for everything.

How far out we go when snorkeling depends on the participants, with less experienced people we stay in the shallow water.

Had a wonderful time snorkeling and fishing! Such a cool and unique experience. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to do something different. Family caught multiple fish and they were delicious!

Snorkeling while catching fish? YEP! Frans and Pierro taught us how to fish while snorkeling and took us to the ideal spots. We saw a wide variety of fish and caught several "eaters" which they grilled up right on the beach for a great meal! A unique excursion for sure, as we have snorkeled countless times but never fished while doing so, nor even heard of it! Frans and Pierro took great care of us and the freshly caught grilled fish was fantastic! If you want to do something different than the crowd and get personalized service, this is it! With a meal to boot!
