Great!
Debra_G, Apr 2024
Steve was an excellent guide with lots of history and funny stories to share with our group. the weather was chilly so it was great to see Boston from a warm place
Very disappointed
Ines_L, Apr 2024
Very disappointed. I waited for at least 40 minutes at the stop #14. two buses passed and both said to wait for the next one; finally, I hopped on. After just ONE STOP (when the bus arrived at stop 1) the driver told us the tour was over, so we all had to hop off. We lined up again and waited at least another 40 minutes since the line was already super long (even though there were at least two buses already lined up there). The person selling the tours told me: you have to be patient …. Finally got onto a bus and continued the hop on/hop off tour. The only great about this tour was the last bus driver ( sorry I can’t recall his name) he was very nice and shared interesting facts with us.

Best part of this experience was the tour guide, Crafty. Shout out Crafty! Never had so much fun, so informative and got to celebrate their 40th anniversary! Took the 2nd trip, the 5:00, last trolley, got on and it was none other than Crafty! He told more stories and made special stops, it was like having a private tour. Can’t say enough about this tour. Do not miss out and if you get on Crafty’s Trolley, you’re in for a great tour!

Very good but don’t sit in the front
DoreenRenee_B, Apr 2024
I enjoyed hearing the history and our first trolley driver was very good and also funny. He led us in singing the chorus from Cheers right before we got to that stop which was a lot of fun for me. We got off at that stop and after eating at Cheers we walked to Trinity Church to hop back on the trolley there. It was a nice walk, but we could not find where the trolley stop was. Finally we saw the trolley go by and ran after it and caught up to it. These stops need to be marked much better. At stop 13, this next trolley driver, Gonzo, jumped out to look for any potential riders at which time I said to my adult son -quick, let’s figure out what stop we want to get off next. Gonzo hoped back on real quick and started his monologue right away and I quietly finished my discussion with my son using my “library voice” but not soon enough. Gonzo turned around and hushed me. I’m sorry, I will not be hushed as an adult by an adult. Also, people behind me were talking too. I guess he couldn’t reach them and used me as an example. Your trolley drivers need to give us a chance at each stop to discuss were we are going to hop off. Isn’t that the name of this company? Hop on and hop off? Give us a chance to discuss this with who we are riding with. It also really upset my son who did not like seeing someone treat his mom with such disrespect. The rest of the ride I kept my moth shut, didn’t react to any of Gonzo’s jokes all the while hearing several people talking behind us and all the way to the back of the trolley. So, if you do not want to be rudely hushed and told - you’re sitting in the no talking seats, then do NOT sit in the front at all. Next we got off at stop 1 and had to get on the trolley in the front. That trolley driver’s name was North. He was very nice, answered my questions about getting to the Old North Church and was extremely polite, well, you know, the way adults should treat each other- with respect. We enjoyed riding the trolley with North and I highly recommend riding the trolley with him if you can.

Great tour - if the weather is kind.
LornaMacintyre, Apr 2024
We bought a two day ticket - great thing because Day 1 weather was atrocious and in our view tour should not have operated. Windows were steamed up inside and rain lashed on outside. Miss Jackson continually handed our paper towels but it was a lost battle. Thankfully Day 2 was better and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Fun way to see Boston
Steve_H, Apr 2024
Really enjoyed the drivers and their stories. The only downside is sometimes when we were ready to catch the next bus and it was full, we would have to wait for the next one. But the sites were great!

Very helpful and efficient service
Pierre_T, Apr 2024
Very useful on the first day to find your way around the city and spot the attraction sites. The drivers are knowledgeable and give their information with a touch of humor. However, we get shuffled while the buses are circulating in different places in the city.

The driver makes the difference.
Carol_H, Apr 2024
We hopped on # 5 stop and soon saw a cemetary that we would hope to see if we went around again to #5 . This driver was very good but we had to change buses and had a new driver called Lisbon who talked non stop without hardly a break . Eventually we got off the bus and grabbed a taxi back to our hotel. If we had been able to continue with the first driver everything would have been fine and deserved a 5 star. But the next driver gave us a headache and spoiled the trip. So I think the success depends on the driver.

Cold rainy day in Boston....
Didem_T, Mar 2024
Cold rainy day in Boston. The windows were fogged and impossible to see out. The tour guide was informative, but not worth the money when you can’t see anything. It’s a one way loop, so if you are interested in hopping on & off to see things you have to keep in mind the order of stops. Also, buses were frequently full and you have to wait for the next bus which is usually 15-20 minutes
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Oh no! Seems like you didn't quite have the fantastic 5-star experience we strive to offer our guests. If you'd like to contact us directly at guestrelations@historictours.com we would like to hear how can we improve.
Definitely do it!
Anne_F, Mar 2024
This is a great tour for every first time visitor! Our two tour guides Gonzo and Rocky were very personable and knowledgeable about the history of Boston. Unfortunately, it was a very rainy day, so we only hopped off twice, but we did enjoy ourselves tremendously. It was wonderful learning all about the city where my daughter will be spending the next four years at college. The price was fair for the day-long experience. Definitely do it!
