Great break from the city

Rose Marina resort wasn't busy when we went, it was very peaceful and chance to relax. Was a long drive but good to get away from the Cairo roads. Beach was good and great to have a swim, lunch was delicious too. We did the submarine boat tour to see the coral and fish and also did jetskis as extras, definitely worthwhile. Ahmed is a great host and we would recommend his tours.

Mixed feelings on this experience

I have mixed reviews about this. I'll start with the positive - The drive there was scenic and perfect for a relaxing nap. Our tour guide (I forgot her name) didn't say much to us during our 1.5/2 hour commute there and back but that was fine. She offered us water but we already had some from our hotel. The driver was great, no road rage and drove at a nice pace. The resort was surprisingly quiet and not busy. We arrived at around 9 AM and no one was on the beach, so we had selections to any lounge chairs. Even when we left around 2 PM, there was only one or two families there. The staff that provided our lunch on the beach was nice. There was one gentleman in particular that helped us with drinks and was super polite, but I didn't catch his name. The day room they provided was clean and spacious. It was perfect for two couples to change or leave any items in. We loved the pool, it was clean and of course, no one else was there so we had it to our serves. Now the negatives - There was one masseuse there and all of us wanted massages, it was about $17 USD for an hour per person. My cousin went first and when she was done, she was in shock. The masseuse tried to give her a happy ending. I was mortified and the rest of us skipped our massages after that.... we were kind of unsure how to react as we were in a foreign country but regret not addressing the issue at the moment. So, if you do decide for a massage, BE CAREFUL! The beach was really rocky and had a lot of jellyfish. We put our feet in for a few min and went straight to the lounge chairs where we stayed for the majority of the time. The jet skis were broken and no banana boat. The only excursion they had were the submarine, but it was about an hour long and we just wanted to relax at that point. We had options for food, chicken and fish. We all got the crispy fish and it was "ok", the presentation of the food was nice. We had to pay for our soft drinks which was fine and expected. I don't want to say we regret this experience, but I do think there are areas that need improvement. We made the most of it and did have a relaxing day, but I don't know if it was worth the money.

This was an amazing day trip to the Red Sea from Cairo and the best way to cap off an amazing week exploring Egypt. I was lucky to be partnered with the most amazing tour guide Hakeim who helped guide me to the beach areas for relaxation and also went on a boat ride and did some snorkelling and deep sea swimming. Hakeim comes highly recommended as he is charming , nice , helpful , knowledgable about the area and aswell fun to talk to. He also takes great pictures as a bonus if you need some. Please do this tour with Hakeim you will have a memorable time and some great memories that will last a lifetime and more. Malcolm M

Disappointing

The only good part was the beach is gorgeous. Our guide Hakeem, picked us up and introduced himself, then proceeded to put on his headphones, and intermittently looked up cars for himself on his phone or fell asleep for the almost 2 hour drive there. Would have loved to have had some sights pointed out or even been able to ask what they were. When we got to the hotel, he checked us in, gave us our seats and our towels. Didnt bother explaining the amenities/services available to us. He left us to go take selfies of himself and his friends. Not once were we checked up on. He however, had no issues checking up on the two bikini-clad girls on the beach, chatting to them, offering to take multiple photos of and with them including moving them to multiple spots for the best pictures (pointing out the efforf he put into them) and inviting his friends to join. He then got annoyed when he found out we changed our lunch reservation from 12pm to 1pm (as I had a feeling we weren't coming back after lunch) and forced us to lunch at 12.45pm. We left the resort at 1.30pm, got back to our hotel around 3.30pm. The advertisement was a 'full-day' 'approx 10-12hrs', we got 8.5hrs. Not at all what we paid for. It was a lot of money spent for 3.5hrs at the beach. He put on his headphones, uploaded his selfies and slept on the way back too. Almost seemed like he didnt want to be there or had other commitments to get back to! We are very disppointed by the experience.

An Overall Terrible Experience

To start, there was no communication leading up to the tour besides the initial booking “confirmation”. I had to reach out to the company for them to confirm the tour. We had a hotel pickup from Cairo. The drive was about 2.5 hours. Very nice desert scenery drive. When we arrived, we were greeted by the “guide” who checked us into the hotel for the day and coordinated lunch. Please be advised that this is no 5,4,3, or even 2 star hotel. The property is pretty run down and old. Our room for the day seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. No towels, barely any tissue, bed sheets were filthy. I would not expect to use the room at all except to change. The beach has a nice view, but is very rocky! Be sure to bring water shoes. They will also offer a submarine excursion, jet skiing, and parasailing. I would also bring snacks because our lunch was not appetizing. We had salad and bread, and a choice of chicken, beef, or fish for our entree. The fish was not great. It was mushy and bready. No flavor. Served with rice and vegetables. Fruit was served for dessert. I was very hesitant about the freshness of the food. The folks at the hotel were very nice and helpful overall. We ended up leaving around 3pm. The guide had a great personality and made sure we were good every now and then. Our driver seemed to have car problems and was definitely one of the crazier drivers. He was so hot tempered while driving, especially on the way back once we got closer to Cairo. Seemed like a great guy, but honestly a very unprofessional driver. Overall, I would not recommend this tour. Find another company.

Awesome Relaxing Day

The guide was awesome! He was professional and on-time. He helped us every step of the way. He pointed out sites along the journey. He handled the hotel with their staff for everything. We felt like we received the red carpet treatment! The hotel offered nice activities—jet skiing, paddle boat, tubing, drinks, etc. We had the opportunity to do a submarine ride. Will definitely use the services again.

Very Nice way to get freshness for a day. Do not use guide, it not useful and ours was sleepy during all the travels. The hotel we were in very simple but Nice. However the beach wasn’t very clean.

Highly recommend this tour! Ali made booking this trip very easy. Our guide Hazem was great and made our female group of 4 feel very safe and welcome. Hazem spoke perfect English and gave us info about the local area, he took great pics (and shared them quickly) and also handled all contact with the hotel making it easy for us. We drove about 2.5hrs from Cairo to Ain Sohkna where we visited the Marina Dome Hotel for the day. The hotel is nice and set against the mountains, we saw dolphins swim nearby and there were lots of fish in the water. Included is beach access for about 4 hours, loungers (a bit dated), clean fluffy towels, access to the toilet/reception of the hotel and a delicious 2 course lunch (we had grilled chicken, chips salad and a selection of small sweet deserts). Activities at the beach can be added, e.g. parasailing. We did a speedboat trip for ~700 Egyptian pounds

Our tour guide, Mohamed Hamed, was the best. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us on 2 excursions and knew when to help and when to step away and allow my husband and I to enjoy our time together. While at the beach he made sure we got checked into our room, and that we knew how to get drinks, and towels for the beach. He walked us to our cabana on the sand, and made sure we had scuba gear. He left us to enjoy our selves and checked on us periodically. He ordered a us delicious Egyptian lunch at the hotel restaurant, where we were able to eat privately before the restaurant was opened to the public. Mohamed did everything possible to ensure we had a memorable time. When booking this tour I would recommend asking for him, you wont be disappointed.

The time spent at the Red Sea with driver Ali and guide Hazem was amazing! They picked me up onTime at my hotel. Then off on an hour drive to the sea. The villa was nice, the pool was nice and the sea! Went snorkeling and fishing. Had lunch on the beach. Saw dolphins pass by 2 times while I was there.
