What To Expect

Make your way to the departure point in Cancun for a 7pm sailing on a replica Spanish galleon that’s 93 feet (28 meters) from stem to stern. A pirate crew will welcome you aboard with a drink from the open bar as the Captain tells tall tales of pirate life and escapades.

In a climate-controlled saloon, sit down to the dinner of your choice: options include lobster tail, surf & turf, a New York-style steak, or grilled chicken, and all meals come with steamed vegetables, sides, dessert, and access to the salad bar.

There will be contests, dancing, and entertainment as you sail along the Caribbean coast, as well as dancing on an outdoor deck. The grand finale, though, is when a second ship pulls alongside the galleon for a full-scale pirate battle with swords and pistols drawn. Watch the action as cannons area readied and fired, and pirates jump from the masts to join the brawl on deck. At the end of the 3-hour dinner cruise, your galleon will return to shore (and the modern world), where this tour concludes.

For people who may have a reaction to strobe lights it is advisable that they do not participate in the activity or that they notify us before boarding, so we can place them in areas where they are less affected; however, Captain Hook disclaims any responsibility in case of any incident as a result of these lights.
For elderly people, pregnant women or people with disability or medical condition that requires assistance or a special area, it is essential to notify the staff of Captain Hook. In these cases, it is recommended that you request prior authorization from your doctor. Any person who participates in the activity will be considered under his or her own responsibility.
If you or a member of your family is under the influence of any alcoholic or illegal substance, or with an attitude that may affect the rest of the passengers, Captain Hook reserves the right to refuse admission to the ship.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

The fighting at the end was the best for me. They spoke Spanish and English for the most part. Pretty funny for all ages. The food was okay, a little overcooked for the steak and lobster. Would go again again maybe with the vip section to have more room to eat. They also did have a back area where you could eat, but you would miss part of the show... overall great show.

Definitely worth it

This was a super fun experience. The actors were great and all decked out. Costumes and make up were on point. They definitely enjoyed their jobs and it showed!! The winds were strong so we didn’t get to go out of port but we had a blast anyway. They did a show the entire time 6-10. The photo with captain jack was presented at the end to folks in a really neat keepsake frame and I kinda wished we did that. Food was ok, don’t expect a 5 star dinner or amazing drinks. The waiters “pirates” worked their tails off to get everyone served and keep the drinks flowing. There were families there and the kids had a lot of fun as well. We are not very touristy kind of people but we did really enjoy this. If I could make one… or two suggestions for them: turn off the echo microphone effect if you are speaking more than three words and turn down the volume one or two notches. Also- THERE IS NO ADDRESS on Viator, Google it ahead of time to avoid the panic of being late. We were late but definitely not the last ones to arrive.

Horrible experience with employees

I would not recommend this for anyone. The employees were very offensive. They did not allow us to even experience the pirate show they were quick to place judgement and make false accusations not allowing our party of four not even get our tickets. They made us feel less then, we were asked if we spoke Spanish we said no. We were taken to a wall to read a sign that no one could board if we consume achocol. We were very confused, concerned why we had been accused of drinking when there had been no drinking. We planned on having dinner, and drinks on the excurison.

The most memorable is that we were denied entrance with our group, Young obviously, inexperienced employee, claiming one person in our group was drunk, that was not even drinking and just woken up from a long approximately 40 minute car ride because our Uber driver was confused with the directions given to the location of the pirate trip. . We spent the whole day in the sun at the beach and the swimming pool at our very nice hotel. Unfortunately, the person at the entrance immediately walked us over to a sign, indicating they didn’t let anybody in who was inebriated, in which none of us had alcohol in our system except one person in the last 24 hours, in which case this person it had been several hours since they had alcohol. The Entrance situation quickly went south when she asked the gentleman where his tickets were and he pointed to his wife, and I had the tickets for me and my cousin both adults well over our 50s. It was insulting and disgusting. I want a refund.. she asked if we spoke Spanish and I said no I can understand Spanish very well and she went onto to tell another employee that we were all drunk and I told her I understood what she just said and she was angered at that point, and questioned why I told her I didn’t speak Spanish. There was absolutely nothing in our group behavior that would indicate any type of nonsense or drunkenness!!! It was one of the weirdest experiences I’ve ever had!!! We were offered a different date to come back. It made me very curious as to what the real issue was were there not enough steaks? Was it oversold like I said it was just the weirdest experience I would never recommend this particular pirate trip to anyone. Actually, zero stars with customer service. I’m sure they’re ready to call the cops on us because we were so questioning the reasoning.

The experience was neat, can’t beat the price with the 2 for 1 promo. The show isn’t very kid friendly but the entertainers do their best. It basically turns into a party cruise at the end. Food was ok. I would recommend a good snack before hand, especially if bringing kids along.

This was so fun and engaging! The staff was excellent and the food was delicious! You are on the ocean so it will get cold fast but it was still a large portion and delicious! The show was so fun and interactive and while we did upgrade to vip for a bottle of wine, the entire ships seating was good. There are opportunities for souvenirs but not unusually overpriced. It was such a fun experience, we will definitely come back!

What an experience! What a fun show. Was on the ship with Captain Jack Sparrow. He and his crew were funny, fun and full of energy. They got us patrons up to dance and do other fun activities, too. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good 4 hour interactive show with good food and plenty of drink (waiters refill you as soon as you are near empty!).

The dinner is spectacular, the show consistently entertaining, and the drinks/service are great. It kept the adults and kids entertained the whole time and had some surprising twist elements in the show. It does run a little long (~3-4 hrs) so just prepare yourself for that! Great experience!!

Overcrowded , boring

Really disappointed in this , out of all the trips we have done in cancun this has got to be the worst of the bunch . Firstly the boat is way OVERCROWDED, you are completely crammed and squashed in . It’s clear to see that all this attraction cares about is how much money they can make . Everything is money money money . They are constantly trying to sell you Photo’s , Swords , T shirts , all at greedy prices . You don’t get served drinks quickly , we watched the staff try and serve people in cramped conditions for 35 minutes before we were asked what drink we would like , it was that crammed that one member of staff knocked a whole drink all over one of the guests . Food is basic . You’ve no room to eat . Entertainment is not good at all , could not understand most of the language , hardly anything was in English , hours and hours of drinking games , karaoke etc , all drunk adults , one kids game . The pirate fight is probably the best bit but other than that it was an absolute waste of an evening . Save your money . I will be seeking a refund .

Charlie was the best. Older pirate there. But he took great care of us in the V.I.P section. The whole show was a lot of fun. V.i.p are for the drinkers, so don’t v.i.p if you can’t drink lol! Overall I recommend this for every age and group

The whole crew works really hard on the show. I food was as expected, nice selection of side dishes but the steak was way too hard. The drinks never stopped coming although there was almost no alcohol in them. Overall experience was better than expected.
