What To Expect

Set sail from a dock in Cancun, and navigate towards Isla Mujeres on a sailing catamaran. Moor alongside the Underwater Museum of Art, a unique collection of more than 500 life-sized statues that are set directly into the ocean floor. Slip into the water with your snorkel to see statues made with coral-friendly materials—fish and coral are gradually incorporating the artwork into the undersea environemnt (spend roughly 35 minutes snorkeling at this site).

Continue to Isla Mujeres, where you can explore the island on your own: stroll through streets lined with small souvenir shops, visit the bustling central plaza, or just soak up the sun on the beach. Meet back up with your group for lunch, then sail to Playa Norte for a final swim along the coast. Throughout the day, enjoy access to an open bar on the sailboat, with plenty of room to sunbathe or dance on deck. This tour concludes at the Cancun dock.

Miguel, the water guide was really good about keeping the group together and showing us all the statues underwater. They were good about getting drinks to us and beers and waters

My kids had a great time. It was a very beautiful experience for them. We got to take a pic with a shark as well
Good but not great

First off the staff was excellent- very friendly and accommodating. The food on the island was delicious and there was plenty. The snorkeling was very underwhelming. The underwater art museum was a tiny section of what looked like metal. Not impressive. The sea was wavy and everyone was clustered together making it hard to explore. Isla Mujeres was disappointing- very crowded and touristy. The north beach was small and absolutely packed with people. The boat itself provided no shady areas so bring sunscreen. Again the tour company itself was great and these comments aren’t their fault.

My husband and I went on this tour. The crew was excellent and very fun. The weather didn't permit us to snorkle at the underwater museum but we still got to snorkle. The lunch was a buffet with many options. We had over an hour on the island which was plenty of time since it is very small. I highly recommend this tour.

The waves were too high for our underwater museum tour but the crew was lots of fun, especially Victor, the captain.

Had a blast snorkeling underwater museum. Seen lots of jelly fish and ocean fish. They were always bringing drinks and the food was good even had hot dogs if you don’t like Mexican food. Offers pics with sharks and some wind surf but it wasn’t windy enough. Played music we asked for

This was an outstanding tour! The crew on the Lupita were also great! We spent plenty of time on Isla Mujeres, shopping and site seeing. My fiancé loved the snorkeling and took pics of the underwater museum. Bring your sunblock - the catamaran was full sun and smaller that I thought it would be. Please be very clear on where to check in for the boat ride. Otherwise, I recommend this excursion.

Demasiado bueno!!! De los mejores tours en Cancún! 100 recomendado! El servicio del staff super bueno! Todos amables y educados. Increible la cantidad de idiomas y el nivel que manejan. La experiencia es increible! El snorkeling impresionante! y la Isla Mujeres preciosa! Too good!!! One of the best tours in Cancun! Highly recommended! Staff service super nice and pro! All friendly and polite. Amazing how many foreign languages and the level of each that they handle. The experience is awesome! I loved the snorkeling! And Isla Mujeres is stunning!

We did not enjoy this tour, what a let down. There is so much waiting around before you get started, and when youre in isla mujeres there is nothing interesting to see. Snorkeling equipment is inefficent and it was a complete waste of a day. Food was unedible. Prepare to be sea sick.

This tour was great! Only complaint is that I would've like a little longer at the underwater museum as you're there for only 5 minutes during your snorkelling time. Other than that this trip was a massive highlight! We even got to go parasailing on the return sail back to cancun!

There were many issues with this tour. Upon arriving the check in process was easy and the attendant very friendly. However, we started late. We were asked to be there at 9:15am for a 10:00am start. But we didn't even start boarding until 10:15am. Once we went to the snorkeling spot, we were told to jump off the boat. This was the only option. Myself and many other guests including small children did not want to jump off the boat. After many attempts asking the crew for a ladder they finally agreed. There were many other boats there. All of them had ladders and some even a rope to guide their guests which is really the safest way to snorkel at this location. As other reviews had mentioned the water is a little rough and having a rope to guide you would be helpful. Additionally, this tour said they would guide you at the snorkeling location which is not true. There were two guys with white buoys that floated around and called out in Spanish when it was time to leave. Clearly all the people on this trip didn't speak Spanish. So this was a huge issue and put a lot of pressure on the guests trying to snorkel to ensure they understood what was happening. It was terrible experience. Many guests clearly expressed concern over jumping off the boat and the crew could have cared less. It was very disappointing. Once we got to the lunch spot, as already mentioned by others, the food was poor. It really was. Bring a box lunch from your hotel if that's an option. We also stayed at this place way too long. There was nothing to do there after lunch. They need to shorten this visit. Further, this is allegedly where you swim with a shark. This was a total hoax. We watched as a guy with a bag of Cheetos in one hand that he was eating brought out a half dead looking shark so you could take a picture. Any animal rights group would find this awful. It was truly was and we did not engage in the activity. Afterwards we went to the other side of Isle Mujeres where all the shopping and restaurants are located. This was fine but the vendors are quite aggressive there. On the way home was the Spinnaker part. But because we were running late getting back, this part was very rushed and you really didn't have a chance to think about whether you wanted to participate or not. They blamed the wind but everyone that did it was able to get up. They also wouldn't let people use a life vest to do this activity and said only good swimmers. Yet again this was very disappointing. Why could they not provide the life vests? We used them earlier and perhaps they didn't want to give them out again to have to put them away. Once again many people didn't participate because of this. Finally, except for a very brief period at the end of the ride, Spanish music was played the entire time. This was not a Spanish only tour. Therefore, they should have at a minimum split up the music with half Spanish/half American music. At the end of the tour, we were then harassed for tips. Usually there is a basket/jar when you exit the boat to show your appreciation, but before we even docked they were jamming a tip jar in our face. It was unpleasant to say the least. Overall, this was a poor experience and I would not suggest this tour. We were very disappointed with the entire experience and lack of effort the crew made for safety and the happiness of their guests.

This tour was the highlight of our vacation in Cancun. This tour not only includes the snorkeling at the underwater museum, but also exploring downtown Isla Mujeres and a beach area on the island, along with the opportunity to swim with a shark. Lunch and open bar were included. The food wasn't amazing, but to be a buffet, I cannot complain by any means. The crew was great and we had a blast. I wish we could have done this everyday. Worth the money.

Shannon S, Feb 2017
On the day of our tour, the currents were judged too strong to allow us to go to the underwater museum, so we were taken to a spot called the lighthouse directly off Isla Mujeres. While I appreciate the safety concern, the tour info should specifically mention how often the currents are sufficiently unfavorable. The snorkeling we did do had interesting fish to see, but the area was crowded with way too many snorkelers. The staff on the boat were trying very hard, but they were not very experienced at handling large groups of snorkelers. They handed out the masks as people were entering the water and then griped at the people including me who need to take time to adjust the mask before entering the water. They also had no anti-fog spray for the masks.

Netter Ausflug
Hannah_S, Mar 2022
