Beautiful experience and...

Beautiful experience and great memories of the trip. Thank you very much for the hospitality and knowledge of the area. We felt so welcomed and appreciated by our guide, like family! . Thank you for the memories!!
So worth the early wake-up!

Our tour guides were Rey and Julian! They were excellent and taught us about the Mayan culture before arriving to Chichén Itzá. Along the way, we stopped in Kaua and Valladolid, shopped and visited with shaman. The cool off in the cenote was beautiful and a wonderful experience. The drawbacks to this experience was the 1. commercialization of Chichén Itzá and the 2. change in the departure/meet up time. 1. Prepare to be bombarded to purchase things while trying to immerse yourself in ancient culture. We bought many items to support the local economy but it would be nice if the selling was contained to limited areas. 2. Originally our tour was to begin at 7:50 am. But the night prior, we were told the time was incorrect and we’d be picked up at 6:40 am. Not a huge deal but could be for people who don’t want to be up at 6 on vacation.
Great tour but had an issue with no pick-up

This was a great excursion, although very long. Alan was an exceptional tour guide, with the right mix of humour and knowledge. Eduardo was a terrific bus driver. We were surprised that the lunch was so good. We would have given a 5 star rating except for the issue with pick-up - there was no hotel quick-up for us. We didn’t find this out until about two days before, and then realized we would have to be up very early to get a 5:45 am cab into Playa del Carmen to make the 6:20 am meeting point time. We had to hail a cab back to our resort at the end of a long day, making it about 14 hours altogether with the cab rides. When signing up for the excursion on Viator, we had picked and paid for the hotel pick-up option. I think the registration should flag hotels ineligible for pick-up. So I contacted Viator that we should get a credit for the difference and apparently the local tour company (Sat Mexico Tours) has agreed to refund that difference (I will have to check on the status of the refund) which will pay for about 80% of the cab rides. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable day.
Great trip to Chichen Itza

Alan did a great job discussing the Mayan culture and history of Chichen Itza and our driver was great. The lunch was good and the cenote was beautiful. It was a long day so could have done without the stop in Valladaloid at the end.
Fantastic experience

Sammy and Eduardo were brilliant and made this experience memorable. Especially Sammy with his knowledge of Mayan history and patience to explain and answer our questions.
Loved the cenote!
Callie_T, Feb 2024
Victor did a great job guiding us! We had a ton of fun swimming in the cenote and it was great seeing the ancient ruins! We didn’t realize it was going to be such a large group (60 people) and it ended up being a 14 hour trip door to door. So it was just longer and busier than we’d anticipated. Victor truly did amazing being able to wrangle so many people and keep us to timely departure times! Overall if you know it’s going to be a full and busy day, then you’ll have a great time!

This tour was booked for a family & was told by her that she had an amazing time during the tour. This something I’ll definitely be doing for myself whenever I decide to visit Cancun.
Need to include ALL fees
Jeff_S, Feb 2024
The trip was great. The bus ride was long but it was far away from Cancun so it is what it is. The email from the company said due to inflation the price went up Feb 1. On the bus ride we find out the price increase was the added $42 USD "entrance fee tax." That'd how they can get away not including it in the price. Its a tax, not a charge. Loved the sites minus the pushy vendors trying to sell their stuff. For being a "Wonder of the World," treat it with the respect it deserves. Keep the sellers outside the premesis.
So amazing
OveAlexander_J, Feb 2024
It was so nice, and the guide was so good in the work with a warm welcome and was giving us so much history and visiting so many different places. For only 100 euros, i mean you cant miss this chance when you stay in Cancun Alexander
Sarah_N, Feb 2024
We had an amazing time! Our tour guide Sammy and Edwardo or concierge were very pleasant! They took their time with us and explain the history. It was such a great time I can’t wait to go again. Everyone back home who saw my pictures are asking me about all these places I’ve been…cant wait to share all the details!
Ewelina_J, Feb 2024
Even though the ride is quite long you can learn facts about the Mayan culture and history from Nora. By the time you reach the destination you feel like you want to really dive into this wonder. The weather was not the best, we had a drizzle but somehow it didn’t spoil the experience and made it more grounded and filled with reflection. The swimming in sinkhole was nice expierience and amazing photo spot. Ruth kept the itinerary going so mind that bus won’t wait more than 15 minutes for late comers, please respect that there are others on the tour that want to spend more time exploring and not waiting at the parking lot for others.
Daniel_B, Feb 2024
Alan our guide and Alfredo our driver were both very good and would highly recommend. If I was to come back to Mexico, I would love to have a tour with them two again.
Enjoyable day
Margaret_a, Feb 2024
Great value for a 13 hour trip. Be prepared for a long day. With the early pick up, we did not have time for breakfast and lunch was not til 2:00. Recommend bringing snacks and carry pesos for small purchases during the excursions. The guide was knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed his job. Would definitely recommend.
Fraud or Misleading? This All-Inclusive Tour was not All-Inclusive, at all.
comishq, Feb 2024
1. Surprisingly, All-Inclusive Chichen Itza tour did not include tickets to Chichen Itza. The ticket price for Chichen Itza at the site is 614 mxn or $36 USD, but the guide told us that the line is like 40 min long, and asked us to buy from the company at $42 USD. Turns out line was like 10 people long at the site or 3-4 min wait at most. Just lies and lies to squeeze out couple of bucks more. I don't think travel companies even pay the full price of $36, but they charged us $42, how nice. 2. My friend told me to buy Xcaret tour after we arrive at Cancun. They offered me $89, all inclusive in the mall kiosk, this Viator All-Inclusive was $69, so I thought I was saving $20. Since I paid $42 extra for the Chichen Itza ticket and $6 extra for the Cenote, it ended up costing more. 3. Xcaret bus looked really nice, very modern. The bus Viator contracted was from ADO or SAT's old bus with old carpet seats and old interior. Our guide wasn't very talkative either. 4. Actually, we could have missed the bus at the meeting point. The bus arrived about 20 min late, nobody called our name, there was nobody with Viator sign, we were just lucky to have chatted with people who had the same departure time. The Bus only had SAT sign, nothing Viator, so I wonder why we even approached to that bus to begin with, but it was just a dumb luck.

Highly Recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about this tour. It was amazing! Miriam was so helpful and enthusiastic and made sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be and accounted for. She was also very knowledgeable about the historical site and Mayan culture in general. This was a super long day, and she was constantly answering questions and giving information from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. I was actually amazed that she was able to stay happy and engaging and was patient with all of us — she never made us feel like we weren’t worth her time, even during a 12 hour day without any breaks. I also have so many praises to sing for Norma. Norma was SO engaging to listen to, so funny, and so personable. She knows so much about Mayan culture and includes anecdotes about her personal experiences growing up with Mayan heritage that really brought the tour to life. She is insanely intelligent, and what really makes her so easy to listen to is her passion for the subject matter. She told us so many Chichén Itzá stories from her previous experiences studying the historical site, including the impressive fact that she has climbed to the top of one of the buildings. She clearly holds a deep reverence for the culture that made this tour really special. I also love that the history lesson began while we were still on the tour bus so that no time was wasted and we got plenty of time to learn before we got there. My favorite part of the trip was swimming in the cenote. It was absolutely breathtaking and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It was very refreshing and fun to jump in from the platform. Shoutout to our driver, Alfredo. We had to park on the street due to a road closure, and he did an amazing job and made it look easy. I can’t even parallel park my Toyota Camry. Alfredo was top tier. I also liked all of the other people on this tour. Everyone was really nice and overall just good vibes the whole day. Thank you so much! Tips for anyone taking this tour: definitely bring snacks. I packed a sandwich and a few other things for breakfast because there is no breakfast provided and lunch isn’t until late in the afternoon. Also, I chose the “all-inclusive” option, which basically meant that instead of paying for entry to the historical site, a locker, and life jackets on the bus, I did it in advance. We also got a free non-alcoholic beverage with lunch. It definitely made it easier than having to pay for those things on the bus, but at the end of the day, the only actual perk was a glass of juice? So, do with that information what you will. Also, there isn’t a ton of time between the Mayan village and Chichen Itza, so if you don’t have sunscreen on yet, put it on after the Mayan village!! Chichen itza is really hot and although we mostly stuck to the shade, there were a few times we were directly in the sun. There was never a direct itinerary that I saw given out, but this was a rough idea of the schedule we followed: 8:00 AM - everyone is picked up and we start the road trip 8:30 ish - History lesson begins over bus speakers. Sit in the front to hear better. Sit in the back if you’re just going to sleep through it 9:40 - Arrive in Mayan village to take photos, gift shop, rest stop. There is a time zone change so now it is actually 8:40. 9:20 (now local time) - get back on bus 9:55 - arrive at Chichen Itza 12:00 - back to bus 1:00 - arrive at Cenote. Choose if you want to swim first or restaurant first. 2:45 - back to bus 3:15 - arrive in Colonial city 3:45 - leave colonial city and depart for the day 6:00 - back to hotel zone - but there is a time zone change, so it is actually 7:00 PM

It was so interesting to see Chichen Itza. The trip was well organized, and the bus ride was very comfortable. It was a 3 hours ride each way, but it was all worth it. It was such a pleasant trip for a day!
AnnaNehm, Feb 2024
Our guide was okay. We were not notified that there has been a change in the itinerary and that we were not going to Valladolid until after visiting the cenote. The guide blamed it on the company for not letting us know. Text and email notifications prior to the tour are very confusing. there were way too many notifications that did not even seem relevant to us. we waited 30mins in the hotel lobby until we received a call and whatsapp message that our driver was about to leave. no idea where the driver was looking for us but it was not in the hotel lobby as we had been waiting there.
