Awesome day with the best local guide.
Michael_R, Apr 2024
We had a great day today. Started in beautiful Valladolid, then onto Cenote which is so beautiful. Nice lunch, tequila tasting (although it's only 1) then onto Chichen Itza. Our guide Rodrigo is Mayan and his family lived beside Chichen itza so he knows his stuff. The guy is super friendly and knowledgeable. Top air conditioned bus. Well worth the trip here. Thank you for a great day out !

A rip off
Jenna_A, Apr 2024
First of all, they're not as transparent about all the extra fees you'll have to pay onsite (in the bus, where if you don't have enough cash or data, you're out of luck, because there's no wifi). You end up paying almost $100 more (for swimming in the cenote and entrance into chichen itza), so the whole tour is almost $200, not $100 like you pay online. Before you buy the tour, they tell you that it includes tequila tasting. That's just a gimmick to get you to book it. You get 2 pill-sized plastic cup portions of tequila from a vendor in a small shack who is only giving them to you so you can buy his $60+ bottles. Also, don't go there when it's super hot. Our tour guide made us stand directly in the sun while other tour guides went in the shade. People in the group were getting out of breath and sunburnt. The only thing I liked about this tour (other then the chichen itza itself of course), was the host on the bus. He had a really great sense of humour and kept it entertaining on the long rides (2.5 hours there and 2.5 hours back if I recall). The tacos at the cenote buffet were also really good, although, avoid the habanero sauces, unless you don't mind suffering for a little. It's a very long day, so you can't really plan anything except a late dinner after. I'm an avid traveller and I've experienced a few tours around the world in my days. Unfortunately, this one felt like a rip off.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Jenna, We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback, although we are sorry you felt like this. There are some taxes and fees that we cannot charge while booking, but that need to paid directly at the visited sites, however we try to reduce waiting time by collecting these taxes at the bus. All the extra fees that should be considered are specified in the description of the tour and also sent in you confirmation and reminders. Despite that, we are glad that you enjoyed the time with our guide and the lunch! We hope to have you at another one of our tours! Kind regards from the team at Amigo Tours, Lorena.

Great Experience Outside of a Resort
Len_S, Apr 2024
The whole experience was worth it and enjoyable. If you're staying at an all-inclusive, it's worth it to get out. It was very hot so we brought a lot of water but there were places to buy drinks. The cenote was well worth it and a great experience. Chichen Itza was also a great tour but hot. We went there last and we were with our guide for the first hour and then allowed to roam for another 40 minutes approximately. We had to walk quickly to see the other parts of the site and didn't get to see everything. But it was a cool experience.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Len_S, We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your tour with us! It's wonderful to know you found the cenote experience and Chichen Itza tour worthwhile. Thank you for your feedback. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon! Best regards, The Amigo Tours Team. Chelsea

Carmen and driver Marcos were great guides for our group. Carmen was very sweet, light-hearted and knowledgeable. Being in the cenote and swimming in that water was so purifying (it actually cured my sunburn) and seeing the pyramid and ruins was otherworldly. Fantastic experience!!

Pick up was on time. It was a good historical trip but not all of it for kids. The cenote part was good. Just felt that we needed more time .most of the trip was spent on the road. Avery long day.Ivo and Frank from Amigo tours were very good at giving info us about the places we visited . Very punctual on time Shout out to Agustin the driver for taking us back safe.

Scam
Dale_C, Apr 2024
The tour bus did not show up to our hotel The tour operator then proceeded to lie about it, expecting us to prove we were there (how???) Viator were useless and just parroted what the tour operator said, immediately took their side and refused a refund Book elsewhere it’s worth a higher price to avoid this company
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Dale, We are sorry you couldn't enjoy the tour. As Viator told you, we sent them evidence that our guides were at your hotel looking for you, but they didn't find you. We asked you to wait outside the lobby, but the guides even went inside to look for you but still couldn't find you. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Kind regards from te team at Amigo Tours, Lorena.
Fun experience
Amy_D, Apr 2024
I loved the stop in Valladolid, the cenote and the trip to Chichen Itza. The lunch was delicious as well. The only complaint I had was that we only had about an hour and twenty minutes at the cenote, and for about twenty minutes we were brought through the gift shop and made to wait there, while being pressured to buy things, which reduced our time at the lunch and cenote.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Amy_D, We're delighted to know that you enjoyed the stop in Valladolid, the cenote, and the trip to Chichen Itza, and that you found the lunch delicious. We apologize for the inconvenience with the time at the cenote and will review our itinerary to improve future experiences. Thank you for your feedback! Kind regards from the entire quality team at Amigo Tours, Chelsea
Historical swim, lunch and tequila.
Andy_M, Apr 2024
I was looking forward to Chichén Itzá and it didn’t disappoint. Too bad aggressive vendors are allowed on site as they do take away from the experience. The cenote was wonderful as was the lunch served. Not many people from the group did the tequila tasting and that’s too bad because it was awesome tequila.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Andy_M, Thank you for choosing us for your Chichén Itzá adventure! We're happy to hear that we met your expectations. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the cenote, lunch, and tequila tasting. Kind regards from the entire quality team at Amigo Tours, Chelsea

Marcela is the best guide ever! She was even willing to take photos of us and she is great at it. She is very passionate about her work. We can't ask for more. The tour is worth every penny even if it is too hot!

Not stroller friendly
Sreekanth_U, Apr 2024
These places are not stroller friendly if you have small kids. The Tequila guys seemed to be boarded and unfriendly.

We understand the importance of family-friendly tours and are continually working to improve accessibility for all our guests. Regarding the Tequila experience, we'll address to ensure our guests receive the warm and welcoming hospitality we strive for. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. Warm greetings from the entire quality team at Amigo Tours, Chelsea
Juam and Marcella were great! Beautiful places !
Victoria_V, Apr 2024
The Cenote is probably the prettiest in the area. It’s deep and you climb down using stairs. No flip flops allowed down the steps, only water shoes. You’ll leave them up top. They have an area (small) your towel . Chichén Itza is HOTTT. It’s even hotter in the summer. Rent the umbrellas!! Our tour guides Marcella and Juam were very patient and knowledgeable. They don’t mess around with punctuality though lol pay attention to pick up times. Someone was almost left behind for being superrr late. They won’t let you interfere with the rest of the scheduled activities. I appreciated that. Great experience !
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Victoria_, Thank you for your detailed review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the cenote and found it to be the prettiest in the area. It sounds like you had a great time exploring Chichén Itza as well! We hope to welcome you back on another adventure soon! Best regards from the entire quality team at Amigo Tours, Chelsea

Needs Improvement
AnneLise_S, Apr 2024
The guide Frank was very good and knowledgeable, but I was disappointed by some aspects of the tour. Firstly, I paid extra and selected a hotel to be picked up from, from the drop-down list on Viator to then find out the day before that they did not pick up from this hotel and that I had to go to the meetup point which was too far to walk, hence I had to take an Uber to get there. I had to contact Viator myself to be refunded the difference. On the way back from the tour after a very long day, even though those of us who were picked up from this particular hotel had been picked up last in the morning were now the last ones to be dropped off after spending over an hour on the bus going through the hotel zone dropping off everybody else at their hotels. Not only that but we were not even dropped off in front of the hotel but further away on the other side of the road, and then I had to call an Uber to get to where I was staying. It would be good if they could pick up people from all the hotels on the list on Viator and not only those in the hotel zone and having several transports picking up and dropping people off would also be much better. Secondly, the Tequila tasting was included in the price of the tour, but we could only taste one, never had I been to a tasting of anything where you only had only one tasting! Thirdly, a cenote was also included but it would be good to say on the tour description that you have to get down 90 steps to get to the cenote, not everybody can walk up and down so many steps, me included. It would be much better to choose a cenote that is more easily accessible. If they improved these aspects then it would be a good tour.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear AnneLise_S, Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the issues you faced during the tour. We will work to improve our pick-up and drop-off procedures, as well as clarify the tour inclusions. Your comments are valuable to us, and we hope to welcome you back on another tour soon. Best regards from the entire quality team at Amigo Tours, Chelsea
