Reef and Shipwreck Snorkeling Tour in Cancun

We had a smaller party from a larger group we're traveling with participate in this and it was awesome. The trip up to the marina was pretty quick - about 45 minutes from the southern point of the Hotel Zone. We had two additional parties in our van, so that made it a little tight, but we managed. When we got there, good gear fitting and briefing followed by the traditional photography upsell. Ultimately, however, we bought the photography and video package. Don't be afraid to negotiate price on this - we landed better than the list price with a little conversation. We chose to do that so we could focus on what we were seeing and Michael, our photographer, was incredible. He was everywhere, all of the time (upside down, catching our attention so he could capture specific moments, etc.). The photographs showed it: we have some amazing memories captured because he cared about making those moments happen during the tour. Our guide, Carlos, was excellent. We went to four stops - a cenote, a coral reef, a shipwreck, and turtle watching. At every spot, he made sure that the experience was cool. For example, at the cenote, he dove down deep to stir the fish a little so we could see them moving and also see more deeply into the under-ocean cenote. Similarly, he pointed out a stingray and barracudas in the coral reef, several sea turtles when we turtle-watched, etc. Overall, it just seemed like they really wanted us to have a great time. In between stops, he defogged our masks and his vibe just was chill and friendly. The shipwreck was cool, but too many other boats were there and I'd advise anyone going to it to be aware of the currents around the ship. Because of its size and relative shallow depth, it's easy to get moved around without being aware of it and accidentally brush the ship or get pulled away from the ship faster than expected. We loved this tour and everyone on it got comfortable quickly and had a good time. We'd recommend it.
