Fantastic day trip aboard the Bona Vida! The staff was excellent- attentive and friendly, especially Angie who managed the bar service with a great smile and friendly demeanor. Roomy, not packed, gorgeous relaxed journey. Swimming was quite fun and lunch and drinks service were spot on ! Highly recommend for groups, couples and LGBTQ friendly !

Snorkeling in the crystal clear blue warm water. I thought we visit some of the Rosario island but we just went sailing and swimming. But it was still a great day with a nice cooked lunch on the ship

Boat Adventure Near Islands: Snorkeling, Swimming, and Satisfying Lunch

Just know that you do not stop on the islands. Instead, you swim and snorkel near the islands. The water is warm, and the underwater views are not really scenic, but you do see some small fish. The lunch is filling, and the crew is very kind and accommodating. You only need to bring sunscreen, a bathing suit, and sandals on the trip.

I loved this excursion! The boat staff were friendly and professional, the lunch was AMAZING, and where they took us to snorkel/spend time on a mini island was beautiful. My only complaint was that I was a little disappointed that where we went snorkeling wasn’t clear enough to see anything. And just a heads up to get to the gate to check in for the boat early - there was a big line of people all trying to get into the same gate. Overall I’d give it a 9/10 and would definitely book it again!

Great day spent on a boat and snorkeling

The boat is very well maintained and clean. The onboard experience was relaxing with music and refreshments. Despite having an infant traveling with us, we did not feel it to be difficult to move around the boat and going in and out while snorkeling. Traveling as solo, as couple and as family with kids, everyone enjoyed the trip. They anchored the boat twice for snorkeling and lunch. I liked the second spot more (after lunch). Good equipment, good food and good experience to sum it up.

Great but wished we could have stayed longer!

I'm a bit torn with writing this review. Let me go with the pros first: 1. The catamaran was huge and big enough for everyone to fit comfortably and not feel squashed. 2. The food and drinks were good. 3. Staff was great! 4. The offered free snorkel gear and pool noodles to swim in the ocean The cons were: 1. The lines to get into the location were chaotic! There are several different charters leaving from the same gate, so everyone was confused. 2. We really didn't get enough time at each of the islands. We only spent 45 minutes at Rosario Island and 45 minutes at Baru. For a whole day trip, I wish we had the opportunity to spend more time....or maybe to have visited one of the more lively islands. It felt like we got a chance to dip into the ocean, and then it was time to leave. Overall, I would still recommend it.

Rosario Islands snorkeling & lunch is a great day!

The entire day was wonderful! The catamaran was beautiful. A very fun day. The water was amazing- not much sea life, but who cares, you’re in this gorgeous water sailing off the coast of Colombia! Amount of snorkeling time was great! The Rosario islands are beautiful. The crew was professional and well informed. Lunch was delicious and plenty! A day filled with sun, water and good times! If you don’t enjoy it- it’s your own damn fault! Bring sun screen!!

A great trip! Snorkeling at the first stop was great, and swimming at the 2nd was excellent. Plenty of spots with shade to sit on the boat. Waves were a little rocky on the way back for about 45 minutes but otherwise very enjoyable ride. Music was a little loud (although you notice it less when it’s a song you know). Food was delicious and plentiful, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Bring lots of sunscreen, saw lots of burned backs after the snorkeling portion of the trip. Highly recommend!

Great way to spend a day! Crew was courteous and very competent. Food was fresh and adequate. Great music and vibe. Confirmation email doesn’t mention this — but you should bring an ID or passport to leave as collateral to borrow life jackets, pool noodles, and snorkel equipment.

Relaxing on the water

A relaxing day on the water. Swimming was nice and we got to swim from the boat to a little beach. Staff was friendly, music was good, and the swimming was great. The food was alright, but the seafood rice was overcooked. They're cooking on a boat though and for a lot of people, so it was fine. Plenty of salad fixings but they did run out of pasta salad. All in all, it was totally worth the price for the day and I'd recommend it to others. I'd probably just go with the veggie rice instead.

Sunny Clear Days

Once you arrive at the dock it is a bit confusing as other tours guests are entering the same door. Don't worry just be patient to wait your turn. This excursion did not require an additional fee. On the catamaran any additional drinks beyond what is included you have to pay with a card they do not accept cash. Just bring cash to tip at the end. They are not pushy with the tip or ask, there is a small container at the bar to drop your tip. Once on the catamaran, I will say it was very well taken care of nicest one we have been on in a while, roomy, and smooth ride. Seating is first come first serve. All seating is cushioned which was nice. The snorkeling compared to other countries we have been to isn't great, but it was nice to just get in the water snorkel around and cool down. This is not a guided tour in the water, you go at your leisure. The staff doesn't communicate with you everything is prerecorded and played throughout the catamaran in English and Spanish. The first stop people come by on boats trying to sell you food and 2nd stop people come by on jetskis and boats that pull banana boats to sell you for a ride. Bona Vida makes it very clear in their announcement their insurance DOES NOT cover those additional ventures. 2nd stop we were close enough to swim to the shore. Almost forgot, the snorkel equipment is very old it worked but if you have your own bring it. They do require an ID when you received snorkel equipment, life vests for swimming, and noodles. If not returned or damaged, they show you the cost you will have to pay. Overall, we had a relaxing day, would recommend if you want to have a nice sunny chill day on a catamaran.

3rd time on this trip over the past few years and always excellent. A full day on the water and 2 stops with a nice buffet lunch. The Capt and Team are great and welcome Watermelon juice is delicious! Worth the money and time for sure for a great day in Cartagena out of the city.

Felt like a party boat

Disappointing and I wouldn't recommend. The boat itself was great and allowed for smooth sailing. The swimming was lovely. The snorkelling is very average so I don't recommend you go for that. If you want a nice peaceful relaxed day out, this is NOT the boat for you. Loud party/rave music from start to finish. When asked to turn it down, the answer was no. Granted 60% of the passengers seemed to love it, the other 40% were pretty miserable I think because we couldn't escape it. Lunch was ok. If you were unlucky enough to be the last 10 or 15 people in line to get lunch you would have found your options limited as they ran out of individual food items. All in all, not great.
