Traveler Tips

Though a long day of 12/13 hours, the tour was well worth it, as we experienced spectacular view of the mountains, glacier, lakes of amazing colour, Canterbury plains etc all with comfort and ease.

Great Day in the South Island
Bigger_B, Mar 2024
Amazing landscape mountainscape. Well organized and conducted tour. All the people who joined the tour were also good and pleasant.
Worth every moment of the 13 hours trip

It was a wonderful experience from pick up to drop off. The driver was extremely helpful and informative and the breaks perfectly timed to break up what would otherwise have been a long long day. We definitely saw the best of NZ in this tour.

All the Must Sees in one day!
Maria_O, Mar 2024
It’s a great tour that lets you see the main attractions in one day. However, it’s a long drive. Even though the bus was quite modern the seats were not comfortable. If you are tall it might be hard to be seated for 1.5-2 hours without brakes. There were enough stops and as much snacks and water as one needed. All in all, it was great, and the guide was super friendly.

Kia ora Maria_O, Thank you for taking the time to review us, in regards to your recent trip to Mount Cook & Lake Tekapo with us. We are glad to hear that you had a great tour and get to see all the major attractions in one day! Yes, our buses are quite modern as we have recently upgraded our entire fleet with brand new vehicles last year. These are one of the best vehicles available in New Zealand for small group operators. We agree, that unfortunately the leg spacing is not as generous as in big coaches. However, this tour would not be feasible in big buses in such amount of time. We hope that you enjoy the rest of your time here in New Zealand and have a safe trip back home. Kind Regards, NZSI Team
An amazing experience!

The day was bright and sunny and we were able to see the scenic beauty on the way. Anuj was really good and kept the interesting commentary, explaining all the features. Above all Anuj took great care of all the people on the trip..

Spectacular scenery
Irene_B, Mar 2024
The drive through Canterbury was beautiful and the alps spectacular. Very good driver. After Alaska the walk in March to the glacier was not great but good exercise. Great snacks. Be prepared for a long drive back.

Besides the gorgeous landscapes we have discovered, our wonderful guide and driver Anuj made this trip a wonderful and memorable day. He was very kind and knowledgeable, and he was giving very clear and patient explanations for non native English speakers. Everything was very well organized and we felt like special guests. Thank you for this day!
Pretty good value, but a long day from Christchurch.
Keith_F, Feb 2024
Our guide was informative and respectful of passenger needs. The amount of riding compared to the amount of actual sight seeing and walking was a little too much. We traveled a total of 9 hours and only walked around a little over four hours. We were also a little disappointed in the amount of glacial material we could see. We only saw a few ice bergs that had calved off in the lake. I realize it's just the way it is this time of year, or maybe a result of the glaciers retreating due to climate change. But overall, a decent value for the money.
Wonderful Scenery

Anuj our tour guide was excellent Everything was well explained. Made frequent stops along the way for photos. Best guided tour I have ever taken. Highly recommend this tour
A trip to Mt Cook
georgia_g, Feb 2024
Hiking the trails around Mt Cook. We saw the glacier and a small piece which had broken off "calf", floating down the river. Our driver was perfect. He provided remarkable information about the region. He was very courteous and concerned about his passengers well-being.
A wonder filled day in the mountains
Franky_P, Feb 2024
Humbling experience of nature at its most dramatic, white summits, the bluest of blue lakes, moving melting glacier. Our driver was friendly and informative. A very long day with plenty of rest stops and good food. Generous helping of complimentary chocolates, crisps and water. A wonderful day with the opportunity for a pleasant walk.

Mount Cook, A long drive with excellent views
Richard, Feb 2024
Christchurch to Mount Cook is a long trip. About a four hour drive there and four hours back. There are many great views along the drive. There are four stops on the outward journey to take in the lakes, Tekapo and Pukaki. Lunch (not included) is at Sir Edmund Hillary centre. Very clean, plenty of food choices and a great view of the mountains. Final stop Tasman lake. It is quite a climb up to the look out over the lake, where you can view the glacier and Mount Cook. An important point about the glacier. You are actually quite far from it as the lake is wide. If it is a warm day no extra clothing is required as you will not actually be standing close up to the glacier. A point we mis-understood from the trip details. Out of the many photos I took on our New Zealand trip. the one of Mount Cook from the look out, was the one that got the most comments from friends back home.
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip.

Beautiful view of lake & Mount cook. Comfortable trip & good guide. Anuj was knowledgeable about the places.
Lake Tepako and Tasman Glacier
Robyn_H, Jan 2024
Zipped over the Tasman to see The Foo Fighters and had a spare day before heading home. Found this tour online and booked. Our leader/guide/driver was brilliant. Such a wealth of knowledge, friendly, helpful to all on tour. The stops were scenic and well chosen. Would I have loved to have got closer to the Tasman Glacier? Of course but the trip was a 13 hour day as it was. I wish I could remember our guide’s name but as stated he was fabulous.
