Discover East Iceland's Seydisfjordur in the company of guides who grew up exploring the fjord and know it best. This small-group tour takes you out onto the fjord and (depending on the sea conditions) into caves in search of wildlife. You'll also visit the famed Dvergasteinn (the Rock of the Dwarfs) and sail under the Skálanes nature reserve.

This was our favorite tour on our whole cruise. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was fairly calm. We went all the way out the fjord to open water. The cave wasn't much but the rest of the trip included many birds, seals, cliffs, farms, and of course the boat was too cool. The guides had excellent knowledge of the area and were willing to share their stories.

This was our favorite tour on our whole cruise. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was fairly calm. We went all the way out the fjord to open water. The cave wasn't much but the rest of the trip included many birds, seals, cliffs, farms, and of course the boat was too cool. The guides had excellent knowledge of the area and were willing to share their stories.

Let's see the title - Wildlife, saw jelly fish and birds. When other wildlife was seen on land, no pausing or mention was provided, just drove write on by. Scenery - beautiful and some interesting stories. Cave Exploring - we understand that the seas have a say in this, but we came up to a dent in the mountain, which they classified as a cave and was able to touch the outside of the cave. Seas were not favorable to go in any further, not that this was very deep in depth. Poor at best communication. Could not get a return email through Viator and/or the provider as to time to meet. Hours were mentioned of the whole day, whereas the tour was supposed to be two hours. Finally the night before, they gave us a time to meet at 9am, when the tender was unaccessible and we were not even scheduled to arrive until that time. Our trip of course was shortened and we covered the space that our ship just journeyed. Very disappointed!

Fun in the Fjord!

This was a fun excursion while our ship spent the day in Seydisfjordur. The brothers who act as the guides are very engaging and informative. Unlike the earlier group, we didn't see any whale, but we saw various bird species. We also saw seals sunning on rocks. The scenery is stunning, though our timing was such that we did not enter or go near any sea caves. Don't expect to get great photos of birds unless you own a good camera, as they are mostly in flight or too far away. It was still a fun couple of hours. They had plenty of suits of various sizes for passengers to use, and didn't go so fast that I got windburn. One thing that could be improved is communication. The information first received said to meet at Hafnargata 12. We had checked back just before our trip and were told to go directly to the boat (easy walk from the cruise ship). The other couple on our tour had walked to the address as they had not heard otherwise.

This tour was an outstanding experience. Two brothers took us on a small boat to see breathtaking and interesting landscapes. They told us amazing history of the towns we saw as well as excellent stories of their live growing up in the area which brought everything to life
Bad instructions to meet tour. No customer service.

The tour operator have wrong instructions of where to meet the tour and when they didn't show, we texted them 10 times and they never responded. We were there 45 minutes early and still missed the tour. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS TOUR OPERATOR. They do not seem to care if they ruin someone's vacation because they gave wrong information and did not make it right.

We had a picture perfect day to take this tour and brothers Hafthor and Hilmir did not disappoint. The ride in their RIB was exciting, the scenery was beautiful, the seals & birds (puffins!) showed up, and the history & information these guys provided was very interesting. I highly recommend this tour; it’s a great time for a reasonable price. Would take it again if we’re ever in Seydisfjordur again.

This was a wonderful a exploration of the Seydisfjordur fjord with Hilmir and his brother. We saw a lot of wildlife from their zodiac boat. It is a small group tour for no more than probably 6 on the boat for a tour. We saw a lot of seals, puffins, and even a large humpback whale from no further away than 4-5 yards. I have been on whale cruises before but never that close! Also the brother were very friendly and had extensive knowledge about the food and town’s history to share. I highly recommend if visiting Seydisfjordur for the day signing up for this cruise. In terms of time and dress. The tour takes about just over 2 hours and dress warm but be prepared to wear a full boil suit for flotation and warmth. Also, my nine year old had a grin on his face for the entire tour, so family friendly as well.

The brothers were great hosts and truly loved sharing the local wildlife. We saw dolphins (big!), many playful seals, puffins and many other bird nesting areas. The arctic suits were fabulous and necessary. Go!

Exciting ride through the fjord around Seydisfjordur. Unfortunately, we didnt see too much wildlife, but the crew did all they could to try to find some. Nevertheless, there was some great scenery to be scene from the water of the surrounding area.

This was an amazing experience! Truly loved the time with both brothers as they took us around the fjord showing us the beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife. They truly know and love this area and happily share. They truly made the whole experience memorable. We booked this over any of the excursions on our cruise ship and so happy we did. One of the best parts of our trip!

Our RIB excursion was simply amazing! We were worried about the chilly time on the water but the suits the captains gave us were perfect! We were warm and dry! We saw Puffins and seals and even rescued a baby bird that had fallen out of his nest. Our captains will reintroduce the baby back to his home once he recovers from his fall. The captains were fun and knowledgeable. The cliffs were breathtaking and the water beautiful. This is a must do excursion!

This was our favorite excursion on our 12 night cruise. Both brothers were friendly, entertaining, smiley, overall just a couple good guys. We experienced a whale which we got really close to and took a ton of videos and pics. The experience was an 11 out of 10 overall. I would book them again if we ever went back. Had the best time! If anyone wants to an awesome excursion, do this one!

Left high and dry; never again

Despite abundant communication over a period of weeks, the tour guide never answered my simple, repeated question about the starting time of the cruise, beyond stating that it would start «early». I arrived before 8:00 to find nothing but an empty dock. Messages and telephone calls in Icelandic and English went unanswered. Finally I received e-mail to the effect that the trip might not take place at all; the guide was hoping to assemble a group of at least four people some time that day so as to justify honouring the trip for which I had long since paid. Apparently I was expected to stand around all day long on the off chance of being able to take the trip at some haphazard time. I cancelled the trip and asked for a refund, which was granted but without the slightest show of concern for the great deal of inconvenience to which I had been put. My one day in Seyðisfjörður was ruined and wasted, because there was no way to arrange any other activity in the tiny town without notice.

This customer did not have much communication, we did say earlier tour ,,should” be possible. Knowing that there would be needed 4 persons minimum to start the tour and him being alone gives ofcource the chance that this tour would not opperate. On the day of the tour, very soon after the cruise ship that you arrived from docked, we message you first of a possibility that the tour would not go operate because of we did not get another small group to merge you with. Im sorry for your troubles.
Amazing adventure

This was an amazing adventure- Just 5 people and 2 guides in a small rigid inflatable boat out in the open waters around the Fjord. The guides grew up here and were so knowledgeable and we saw birds of all types, right on the water next to us. Seals sunning on rocks, vistas not seen elsewhere, This was a true adventure, A must!

Most memorable part of our cruise! The brothers took us all around the fjords and we saw so much wildlife. The high tide did not allow us to go in any caves… just an excuse to return! The suits they provide kept us warm and dry. Thanks so much
