What To Expect

Your tour begins in the heart of Florence, at Piazza della Repubblica. This square is surrounded by historic buildings and cafes, making it an ideal starting point for your tour. Your local guide will be there to meet you and introduce you to historic establishments like Gilli Café, which dates back to 1733, and Caffe Paskowski, established in 1904.

As you leave the original Roman Forum, you'll be amazed by the breathtaking Liberty-style palaces of Florence. You'll see the 1922 Cinema Centrale Gambrinus, which is now the Hard Rock Cafe, and a cocktail bar and restaurant dedicated to the famous Italian actress Sophia Loren. You'll also have the chance to see a mesmerizing mosaic created from recycled bottle caps by Neapolitan artist Luigi Masecchia.

On your stroll through the back alleys of Florence, you'll come across a number of small wine windows, known as ‘Buchette di Vino’. You'll have the chance to sample a glass of wine at one of these historic windows and learn about the local wine families who still own many of the city's noble palaces.

As you cross the Arno River and enter the artisan districts of Florence, you'll see locals enjoying the city's famous "Happy Hour," with wine glasses in hand. In the neighbourhood of San Frediano, known as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world according to Lonely Planet, you'll experience the city's thriving bar scene for yourself.

Be sure to take a moment to capture some memories at Fotoautomatica, one of the few vintage photobooths in the city. These photobooths, which take black and white passport photos, were restored by local Matteo Sani, who has dedicated himself to repairing original photo booths. These photobooths are a unique and fascinating part of the city's history.

Finally, you'll make your way to the lively Piazza Santo Spirito, where you can mingle with the locals and enjoy a glass of wine at one of the many local wine bars. This is the perfect opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the city and savour the flavours of Italy. Your Happy Hour Tour in Florence will leave you with a deep appreciation for the spirit of this beautiful city.

Great experience
Julia_G, Nov 2023
Serena was amazing and went above and beyond. It was only my husband and I on the tour so was very personal. Really enjoyed all the history she provided! Loved the first stop at La Bottega Della Frutta, had delicious appetetivos!
Just incredible
Ruby_S, Nov 2023
This is hands down the best tour we had in Italy. Our guide, Linda, was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. It was obvious that she’s in love with Firenze and wanted to share her joy with the group. She had fantastic connections in the city and took us to shops that we never would have known to enter. Overall it was an incredible experience and I can’t recommend it enough.
Florence with a new friend!
Craig_V, Oct 2023
Small group, just us. Serena was awesome and her local knowledge and friendships was obvious. Made it more of a nite out with friends, rather than on a tour.
Fun and easy little tour.
Melinda_S, Oct 2023
The wine tasting was fun and interesting. Serena was personable and knowledgeable of the area. Thanks!
Don’t miss this!
Jane_S, Oct 2023
It was a very memorable evening. The places we stopped were fantastic. Come on an empty stomach so many delicious appetizers! Highly recommended.
Excellent tour guide brought tradition to life
Lindsay_S, Oct 2023
Serena was an amazing guide! We had a wonderful experience walking around Florence and learning the history of both the area and apperitvo traditions. Our first stop in a locally owned shop was a real treat! We would take another tour with Serena any time!
Fresh flavors of Florence
Karen_F, Oct 2023
We loved the family owned market that has been in Florence since 1912. The owner served us delicious appetizers and was so warm and friendly to our small group.
Perfect apéritif experience

Linda was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and funny. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Will definitely recommend to friends.
Great drinks and even better company!
Jennifer_F, Jul 2023
This ended up being such a fun, intimate experience--it was just the tour guide, his trainee, myself, and a lovely woman from Scotland, and we had a great time! Our guides were both so friendly, open, conversational, and warm--it felt like we'd all become fast friends by the end of the tour. I will say that since I had done a food and wine tour the night before, I had already heard a lot of the information that was shared, but it was still a fun experience for the company and conversation. I would especially recommend for solo travellers, as it is a great way to meet new people and enjoy some fun company. :)
We would go again!
Susan_B, Jun 2023
The guide was the best! Very knowledgeable and took us to great places! The best tour we did on our trip!
Somewhat helpful but way overpriced
Julie_C, May 2023
Our guide was a lovely person, and very knowledgeable. We got a few good tips on places to eat and shop, but the rest was very basic, things we could have learned about in any basic guidebook, such as what wines are grown in various regions. In my opinion, the tour was definitely over priced for what we got, which was half glass of wine from a wine window, and an additional drink at a small bar, downstairs, and a small cheese plate, and some bruschetta to share between four of us.
Beautiful tour!
Kaylee_B, Apr 2023
If you are on one of your first trips to Firenze, I would recommend this tour. It was a unique way to see streets and piazza's you might not have found on your own. As a seasoned visitor to this incredible city, unfortunately I knew a lot of what was shared by our guide. I did have a fantastic time, tried knew wines and learned a lot. It is an intimate group trip so you really get to know the people on your tour too which is a plus!
Fantastic Insights into Florence
Charlotte_K, Apr 2023
Such a fantastic tour, which provides the perfect introduction into the wonder that is Florence. As a first time visitor, I wanted to experience the real Florence with the help of a local, which is what I experienced on this tour. Discovered some fascinating history, met some lovely people who were on the tour, all finished off with some delicious aperitivo's. I'd highly recommend this tour.
A delightful evening...
THOMAS_W, Mar 2023
A delightful evening enjoying the history of Florence and sharing it with old and new friends. Great evening!
Guide Never Showed
Dennis_M, Mar 2023
Guide never showed up. We waited for over 20 minutes at the appointed location and sent 3 messages to the company during that time, but never got any reply. Finally gave up and went out on our own. Working to get a refund now.
Well worth the time and money
Geoff_C, Oct 2022
Sara (sp?) was a wonderful guide/host; as a local, she provided us with both the history but also the locals perspective on this amazing city. I was joined by three other solo travellers, all of us from different parts of the world. The bars/restaurants we visited were off the usual tourist map adding to a more authentic experience
A great tour!
Eileen_G, Oct 2022
Linda was very knowledgeable and very fun. She knew a lot about Florence and Tuscan wines and foods. We ate well and had great wine and aperitifs. I’d definitely recommend!
Apertivo like the Romans
Kimberly_D, Oct 2022
This was a lot of fun. Down side, we were supposed to visit three bars but only got to two. All in all we had a great time. Our guide was very informative and such a pleasure to get to know.
Wonderful way to experience the area while learning about Italian wines, rituals and history of appetitivo!
Vidabuena1010, Oct 2022
Our guide was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The whole experience was wonderful and we had a great time! Highly recommend!
Where were you
JeanK, Sep 2022
I could not find the guide. I was so disappointed. I even downloaded the app for more specific directions. You needed to include a number to call or text the guide.
