What To Expect

Start the day with skip-the-line access to the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s 'David.' Nothing prepares you for the scale of this sculptural masterpiece. Your guide helps you appreciate the artistry from every angle, including the techniques Michelangelo used to make marble look smooth as butter.

The highlight of the city walking tour is the Florence Cathedral, whose incredible red dome is the city’s crown jewel. The dome was not without challenges for architect Filippo Brunelleschi, as your guide explains while you view the masterpiece from outside. Entrance to the Duomo is always free, so you can come back at any time to explore the cathedral in more depth, equipped with an abundance of knowledge shared by your expert, local guide.

Your tour continues through the historic center of Florence, taking in the Piazza Signoria, where 'David' once stood.

Skip the line once more at the Uffizi Gallery. Our coordinator will hand you the ticket to enter this immense gallery where you will visit at your own pace, wasting no time in showcasing works by Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Titian. Don’t forget to rub the nose of 'Il Porcellino,' Pietro Tacca’s Baroque bronze boar sculpture, to bring the rest of your vacation good luck.

Whether you’re only in Florence for a day or settling in for a longer stay, this is the perfect introduction to a city where beauty awaits around every corner.

Traveler Tips

Wear good walking shoes, it is a long day on the feet!
If you’re an art lover or have abundant time to spend, it is definitely a must, but for the layperson, you don’t have to feel like you’re missing a ton if you skip the Uffizi.
We highly recommend this tour but it does make for a very long day so be prepared.

Lorinda_B, Sep 2023
Annette, our guide, was exceptional, very knowledgeable about the topics of the tour, the past and current history of Florence, and took care in guiding us through crowded areas so that our group was always together. The tour was excellent.
Great tour and we enjoys David, the walking tour of Florence and the Uffizi museum
Frank_P, Sep 2023
Stephanie was our guide. She is so knowledgeable and an expert on everything we saw and shared so much information. It was amazing. She was great and we asked to have her again on the second part of the tour in Uffizi.
Fun, informative and worthwhile
Mark_R, Sep 2023
Yesterday we completed a tour of the city and the Accademia gallery with Angelo. Angela was funny and informative and made our tour enjoyable and fun. We then toured the Uffizi with Giovanna who was so passionate about the art and was excellent at explaining the painers perspective in a unique and again fun way. Both tour guides were excellent and we would definitely tour with either again.
The Best and Worst Tour Guides
Carolyn_S, Sep 2023
Valentina took us on a fabulous tour around parts of Florence and the statue of David in the morning. She was interesting, interactive and informative with details about little bits and pieces and she has a good sense of humour. She kept the group together, the tour was well paced and she is a great tour guide. If I was just rating her tour it would be 5 stars out of 5. We had Max in the afternoon and he was atrocious! He arrived wearing a shirt that he couldn’t do up the bottom button and had his belly exposed. He had no clue how many were in his group, was not aware of facilities nor that anyone had stopped for a bathroom break, did not address the group as a whole unless we stood near him but if you did that, he would zero in on whoever was closest and talk directly to them, ignoring the rest of the group. He went into way too much detail on every painting and we spent too long in each room. For example, we would be in a room for 5-10mins and another tour group would come through, do their tour and leave and we’d still be there for another 10mins hearing about minor details such as, the shades of crimson. His tour was so slow and we gradually watched the expressions on the faces of the group change to boredom. At times, some of the group walked ahead to the next room, sat on the seat in the hall, were giving each other the station code to tune into other tour guides on the headset and avoiding being near Max. The final straw for us was when he was standing in front of a painting, talking to the group with his eyes closed and there was not one member of the group anywhere near him. We left the group after that and continued on with our own tour as we’d had enough of his monotonous monologue. We were expecting this tour to be great after the style of tour we’d been on in the morning but unfortunately it was a big disappointment.

The fascinating tour of Uffizi and Accademia!!!
Gina_G, Sep 2023
This tour consists of 2 parts with an hour and a half between for lunch on your own. The first part was a walking tour of the neighborhood that Uffizi and Accademia are inside of. Giovanna was our first guide. She taught us so many things about Florence and the Arno River, the museums the neighborhood and how it came to be. She was funny and filled with knowledge. I know how much she enjoys giving tours. She brought us to see David and all of his splendor. She was a pleasure to learn from and taught us so many things! Angela was our second tour operator and she was magical as well. We went into Accademia with her and saw the most beautiful works of art with her. She was so detailed in her descriptions of everything, that I noticed my mouth hanging on her every word! The pieces of art were lifted off of the walls and into my heart because of her absolute love of everything she was showing us. Hopefully you can book this tour and get Giovanna and Angela!!!! These ladies are as priceless as the works of art they so love!!!

Jane_E, Aug 2023
Tour guide was informative and interesting. Nice to be able to skip the long lines for entry. Do not visit these places without a tour guide! There is just too much history and interesting facts that they include in a tour. This tour begin in the morning with Uffizi Gallery and other city highlights, takes a lunch break, and then return in the afternoon for Accademia. Seeing Michelangelo David was a highlight!
Excellent in every way
Martin_W, Jul 2023
Apart from The Art and seeing David in situ our guide Annet was perfect . You are given all the pertinent information in such an engaging and interesting way. She was happy to answer your questions on the way through. Also walking between the venues we were given the history of the sites we passed. Nothing was rushed.
Good experience
Blanca_E, Jul 2023
