Our forgettable experience was when we almost missed the tour despite being early to arrive at the meeting point since people or the operator did not make an effort to identify themselves that the tour for the viator group was them.

Having a knowledgeable guide explain the history of the cathedral made it come to life. We were able to skip the long line and enter through a side entrance, and at the end have as much time as we liked to stay and enjoy.

The Cathedral is only a small part of the huge Duomo complex. If you wanted a more specific tour and learn about the whole complex, you should have chosen the other tour that we offer which includes the visit to the secret terraces and to the top of the Brunelleschi’s cupola other than the crypt, the baptistery, the clock tower and the museum. The person conducting the tour had good knowledge except she gave incorrect information concerning the church from the 1St Century. It was stated that we could visit with our tickets but the person below refused to allow us in. I went to find her but she was as gone. The tour was not worth the money spent except to skip the line!

Dome beautiful, cathedral stark, guide ok

This gets you inside to see the beautiful paintings inside the dome in the event that you can’t get a skip the line ticket. The cathedral is stark beyond the painting under the dome. The guide was fine. She indicated that our ticket would get us into the duomo museum but instead it is a museum for a religious organization who does charitable works for the community.

Was 15 minutes late due to cruise ship docking late and ship tour bus thus also arrived late. Had called ahead to let them know we would be late. Tour guide had left already when we arrived. We found tour guide before he entered church, but he would not let join group as we were late. Told same story to Viator and no refund for the 4 tickets (not even partial). Buyer beware!
