What To Expect

Your tour starts with a morning pickup from a central meeting point in Florence, just adjacent to the train station.

Depending on your group size (tours have a maximum of 25 participants), you’ll board a luxurious, air-conditioned minivan or minibus. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered, in case you want to surf the web.

Upon arrival in Siena, you’ll explore the medieval historic center during a guided visit. Arrange an optional tour of the famous black-and-white-striped Duomo (own expense; not available on Sundays).

From there, the group heads to a family-owned Tuscan winery. See the cellars and enjoy a sumptuous-sit down lunch of seasonal Tuscan dishes paired with local wines.

The tour’s final stop is the medieval hill town of San Gimignano. You’ll have over an hour to explore on your own, giving you time to grab a gelato or visit the church before heading back to Florence.

Loved everything!! Lorenzo was a perfect guide and funny as well. Nino kept us safe and comfortable while on the roads. Best day while in Florence was when we were outside Florence.

Guide Lorenzo and driver Irene were the best! They remained positive throughout the on/off rainy, cold day. Lorenzo was calm, patient and kind and did a wonderful job with the group navigating each visit. We were pleasantly surprised with the visit to the small winery for tasting and lunch. From experience, we know a stop like this can be a gem or miss…but it was a gem! Wonderful wine and food, plus beautiful views! The host at the winery was fantastic too! We’ve been traveling throughout Italy for the past 2+weeks, so this day trip was a nice break from the big crowds. Thank you for providing a well organized tour!

Most enjoyable despite rain

The guide Lorenzo and the driver Allessio were wonderful. Could have been a perfect day if the weather had cooperated . It rained the whole time in Siena and most of the time in Gimignano. Even so we enjoyed walking around both towns very much. Had a sunny break while at the lunch place and got to appreciate the legendary Tuscan scenery.

Lorenzo, our guide, made this a fun and informative day. Both cities are beautiful, living history sites. The tour allowed enough time in each area to get a good idea of what's there, and make me want to go back some day. I paid the extra 15 Euros for the church in Siena and it was well worth it. Lorenzo came in with us and explained a lot of things I would have missed otherwise. The lunch and wine tasting were really fun. We Sat at a long, beautifully set table which encouraged conversation. The wines were delicious - a lovely crisp Chardonnay, a dry Rose, and 2 reds. Generous pours made me glad lunch was included. Lunch was bruschetta with their own olive oil, and pici with a very light amount of sauce- yum! Dessert was a small cup of ice cream with a wonderful, thick, sweet balsamic poured over it. I really appreciated that even though Lorenzo is much taller and younger than I am, he didn't walk uphill so fast I couldn't keep up. There is a lot of uphill walking, these are hill towns after all. So worth the climbs for the beautiful views and scenic buildings. I also liked that Lorenzo was very clear on where to meet and what time whenever we were given free time. The bus was very comfortable with big windows, and Matteo an excellent driver. It felt very safe. Periodically Lorenzo would tell us to look at particular sites as we passed them. All in all, a wonderful day, I highly recommend this tour!!!

Leisurely small group tour of Tuscany delights

Kind, professional guide, Francesco, made the day memorable! He skillfully guided our group to experience the best that Tuscany has to offer… he explained the history of Siena and San Gimignano, how the Black Plague decimated the population of both towns and subsequent events. He provided leadership in setting an orderly, yet leisurely pace to the day’s scheduled activities. Lunch was a feast! We could not be more pleased with this small tour package.

Lorenzo and Nino were excellent. It was definitely quick at all places, but if you want to see more of Tuscany without renting a car and for an affordable price this is the tour for you. Lorenzo was knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. We enjoyed the walking tour of Siena and the tips for San Gimignano. The highlight of the trip was a small winery with lunch.
