Worth it

The statues and paintings are beautiful but the audio guide that is referenced is an additional 12 dollars at the door. Overall worth the extra money to pass the line but keep the additional audio cost in mine.

Poor experience with getting tickets at the venue

The ticket distribution agent had called in sick so we were left standing with no way to get in to the Florence Accademia Gallery. We walked into a different company with an actual office and they were able to work out entry but that took almost an hour. We simply got lucky cause the folks at the travel agency were able to help.

A Stressful Experience and Terrible Viator Representative

My wife and I showed up in the exact place and time provided to us in the instructions sent to get into the Florence Accademia Gallery, but nobody was there to get us in. We kept asking the line attendants that worked for the gallery what we were to do, and they told us we were in the right spot and that a representative would show up to help us with the tickets. After waiting and waiting, I asked the gallery attendant again, and he pointed to this sketchy looking guy leaning against a wall and said that was who we were to speak to. The guy in question was just casually leaning against a brick wall looking at his phone - he was making no attempt to locate us, even though we had been standing by him the whole time - we just assumed he was, like the rest of the crowd, waiting to get into the gallery. He wasn't wearing anything to identify as a Viator rep, nor was he making an attempt to locate us, even though we were just a few feet from him well over the time we were supposed to be there. Once we approached him, he just kinda looked up from his phone, and said our last name. When we said yes, he handing us a couple of tickets, pointed to a line, and took off; that's it. So, yes, we did get inside, but only after having to wait for this lazy rep to be identified by someone else. It was a stressful experience - one that didn't have to be. I'll NEVER trust Viator to handle bookings for me again after this experience.

I felt that I paid way too much for what I got, maybe in a high season, with an actually long line to skip would be worth it. However, seeing The David was for sure remarkable! That is something that you don't want to miss, but maybe not paying more than double to do it.

Found the meeting spot to get the tickets easily, seemed a bit shady though (bought 3pm tickets and arrived on time, but the tickets I received were switched in front of my eyes for a 2:15 session). Didn’t have any issues getting in though so happy overall.

Seeing the original David at the Accademia Gallery is something you need to do... better still to get additional insight from an audio guide. We were glad to get our tickets through Viator, because they were sold out elsewhere. It was surprisingly busy in Florence during the week of October 2 and a pretty chaotic outside the Accademia on the day we went, but once we found the Viator rep, he explained what to expect and got us waiting in the right spot. We would recommend you get there early and be prepared to wait a bit, even if you have a booked entry time. "Skip the line" means skip the line to buy a ticket, not skip the line to enter. All in all a good experience. Would recommend.

I was worried after reading the reviews that finding the designated spot was going to be tricky. I can honestly say “it was NOT”. It was easy. As you get to the street, just look for the # where your tour meets (for ex: mine was 45) on the walls, like an address. - I showed up way early, just in case for hiccups. I got my official ticket but they told me to come back at my set time to get in “skip the line” line. Best way to describe it, is an organized mess. Mainly because street is small & there’s so many people. I was impressed with Viator’s set up & definitely worth the little extra money for “skip the line”. There are so many people wanting to see David. Enjoy!!!!

Not really skipping a line

It is misleading about skipping the line. You are still in line but you are in a cordless with the time slot you are given. Also you have to print your voucher before hand. What we had electronically did not get us in.

Our 2.30 skip the line extra fee got us in at 3:15. It was a mob scene with all the various skip the line groups. Save the frustration and go later in the day and just stand in line.

Still left standing in queues in the heat for approx 40 mins as everything was running late. Don’t know how much longer we would have waited if we hadn’t pre booked a time slot but it’s certainly not a speedy option

Same day skip works smooth

Got the tickets booked straight away on the app, same day visit. So 5 🌟 there. As one can imagine in these times of pent up travel demands, it was a wee bit, ok maybe a bit more then wee, crowded in front of the Accademia. Once I stopped and looked around I noticed a nondescript looking guy holding what looked, upon closer inspection, to be a small Vator flag on a telescoping antenna. Key point here, look for the Viator flag guy! He looked up our resi by name, found us in his device and handed us 2 skip the line, and it was a long line, tickets. We walked right over to the front lane of the line, presented our fresh tickets and waltzed right in. Mission accomplished! It was again a bit crowded inside but it was cooler and out of the sun. With some patience you can get great views of David. Viator came through with same day skip the line tickets without much hassle.
