Tour the Opera del Duomo Museum with your guide, and learn about the original doors of the Baptistery, the 'Pietà' by Michelangelo, and other priceless works of art.

Tour the cathedral before beginning the ascent up its 463 steps to the cupola—expect a steep climb. As you travel up, admire the frescoes from Renaissance artists like Zuccari and Vasari on the two shells of the dome.

Then, arrive at the top and enjoy the reward for all your hard work. Stroll along the cupola’s balcony to soak up 360-degree views of Florence and the Tuscan hills stretched out below.

This was a great tour of the Duomo and museum. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. She pointed out historical landmarks on our walk to the Duomo and highlighted significant pieces in the museum. The climb up the dome was a bit challenging but she was encouraging and patient. It was definitely worth the views inside and outside. Highly recommend this tour!

We did the Florence Duomo tour with Brian, which included the rooftop climb. This was one of our favorite tours in Italy, and Brian was an amazing guide. The Duomo is beautiful, but if you can manage the steps to the top, definitely do it. The views of Florence are amazing, and you see the dome paintings up close. This is a fantastic tour.
Excellent tour

Great tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very personal. She was great and leading us up the dome. I can’t recommend her highly enough. We really had a great time with her. She was personable, fun, and really did a great job with our group.
Ruff climb, but worth it.
Randy_W, Nov 2023
I wouldn't have missed this, but the climb was very hard for me, and most of our friends are older and wouldn't do it.
Lots of stairs
Jeff_T, Nov 2023
Lots of stairs but well worth it. The museum is amazing and shouldn’t be missed. The skip the line for climbing dome meant we were up early, just a shame about the weather.
So exclusive and special

Must do tour if you want to experience the Duomo
SABIN_S, Oct 2023
Our tour guide Viola was amazing, so informative and you could tell she was passionate about art and the Duomo. She made this special tour even more memorable. This is a can’t miss tour. Yes there are a lot of steps up to the roof of the Duomo but the view is spectacular. Totally worth it. Also the Duomo museum was amazing. We would never have thought to go without this tour, but the opportunity to view all of the incredible art close up- especially the original brass doors by Ghiberti, made it absolutely worth while.
Great view
Diane_M, Oct 2023

Ryanne was an amazing guide. We had a very good time very easy to understand English and other than the Duomos Staff it was unorganized. It was still fun.

wendy_t, Oct 2023
We don’t usually like guided tours but our guide was lovely and there was just enough info without it being too much and too long. We enjoyed getting up into the cupola and close to the frescos. And of course, the view! Well worth the extra bucks to get up high and outside
Top notch views
Fifa_E, Oct 2023
The views from the Duomo climb are stunning. The architecture is awesome especially when you know that the builders only had brick, stone, wood and their backs to work with. The museum of the Duomo is very informative and gives rich history , the Duomo itself is more magnificent on the outside but the climb makes up for it’s more “simple” inside decor.
Yes, history and a workout at the same time!
Chris_G, Oct 2023
Great history lesson by a fantastic native guide, whose excitement about sharing the stories of her city came through with every word!
