Worth the climb!

The Duomo is understated beauty in comparison to many churches in the area. However, I find it more enjoyable because I can focus on the individual parts instead of being overwhelmed. The climb is hard but doable. I was able to do it (barely!) 6 weeks after surgery. There is no toilet here. So come prepared!

We really enjoyed this tour, not too long, not too short. Our guide was very authentic. It was a plus that the ticket included access to the Baptistry and Giotto's tower. I wish we had known what time the Crypt would be closed...as we could not go in when we were done. Had we time the next day, we could have tried again.

Giacomo was an excellent guide, full of insights and great recommendations. Of course, everyone lied about the number of steps to the top of the Duomo, mostly I suspect to make it seem less arduous than it was. It was still a tremendous experience.

Loved access to the one terrace. Description of the tour is a bit misleading as it is indicates terraces. It makes it seem as if one will go to more than one Terrace however, you do not.

Incredible experience worth every penny. You get way beyond front of the line access. We almost felt guilty with the advantage, you get to go in hallways that are not accessed by the masses. Incredible view from the outside flanks of the church and then climb the dome. Book earlier than later so you have enough time. GABRIELA was adorable, informative and fun!!

This tour was great! Our guide had a wealth of information to share on the Duomo, and the views from the terrace were amazing! After the tour we climbed the rest of the way to the top of the dome for even better views! Rather than using the meeting point from Viator, enter CiaoFlorence as your location. I thought we were going to miss our tour as we couldn’t find the meeting place (we were like 100 yards away), until we entered CiaoFlorence into Google maps…then it was easy.

Very “guide dependant tour”

The tour in itself is fine. Our guide kind of set a weird mood within our group from the very beginning. Everyone was asking him of they could bring a hand bag, a water bottle, a camera bag or other stuff. The rules at the Duomo are very strict. The guide got very defensive upon the customer’s deception regarding the inability to bring their personal belongings. The Duomo in itself is beautiful, mostly outside. The terrace will give you a different perspective. They use the words “hidden terrace”, nope, not hidden at all. The best views are from the Giotto tower. The mesh they use for the fence is like 1,5 inch by 1,5 inch, making it impossible for people with DSLR cameras to take pictures from the Giotto tower. On top of the dome, it is more user-friendly for people with DSLR.

Great experience being able to take an in depth look at the Doges Palace and the St. Mark's Basilica without the crowds and with Nico as our tour guide. Both places were fascinating, and Nico provided in depth and detailed guidance and enthusiasm. By far, the best tour I've had in Venice.

Excellent tour with a great guide. The ceilings and floors are amazing! 463 steps to the top. People seem to think it's a big deal, but I did it in flip flops. The heat was more of an issue. The art at the second and third levels is quite compelling with a lot of angels and demons. But, since its a Medieval Church, it seems appropriate. Still best viewed on the level than looking up. The last stretch of 100+ steps is very steep and requires everyone to use handrails. You can see all of Florence from the roof.

A truly memorable experience with access to the top of the Duomo cupola with amazing views of the beautiful city of Firenze. The tour was well organised from the initial meet and greet and the guide was very friendly and incredibly knowledgable about the cathedral and Duomo. The fast-track ticketing was fab as the queues snaked right around the outside of the cathedral. Would throughly recommend and well worth the money - just be prepared for the steps!!
