We had such a great time!
Cynthia_P, Apr 2024
We had such a wonderful time on the Bay Tour! All the staff including the captain and his crew were very courteous. They told everyone about the history of the bay. They offered water to everyone and were very polite and friendly. We highly recommend The Bioluminescent Bay Tour. It was fun and very informative.
Nothing to see from the boat
Rose_S, Apr 2024
From the boat you can't see the lights. You have to snorkel. Since I don't snorkel, I wouldn't do it again.
Great Tour
Katherine_M, Apr 2024
Great experience. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, we were still able to see the bioluminescence. Bring and jacket because it gets chilly at night after being in the water.
Coolest experience

They took us to starfish point and on the way we had an amazing sunset. Starfish point was very pretty with very shallow water just a couple feet deep and red/orange sea stars I think cushin stars. Very pretty. That you can touch underwater and hold. My 7 year old Loved it! Then we went to the bio-bay and waited for the light to fade. The boat is a catamaran so you can swim under the boat between the pontoons where it is pitch black and see the bioluminescence so clearly. It is absolutely beautiful. I have done this in Puerto Rico and in Florida and they only let you view by kayak so to be able to have your whole face in the water is absolutely amazing. Bonus is we were the only boat in the bay so it didn’t feel over trafficked. Definitely worth it!! I think because most tourists that visit Grand Cayman come on a cruise ship they have to leave before sunset so not too many people get to experience this here. I loved this tour.
Fun boat tour to see Bioluminescence and Starfish Point
Aimee_O, Mar 2024
Great trip...saw some Starfish at Starfish Point and bioluminescence activity too. I wasn't stung but we were warned of jellyfish in the water so I didn't want to stay in too long...
Must Do!

We enjoyed learning about Sea Stars and why there are so few compared to a few years ago. Aaron is very knowledgeable
Timing is everything!

Having done this excursion prior to this with this same operator, I will say this time was a little disappointing. The excursion prior was AMAZING and that was because of two things this excursion didn’t have…first was an outstanding and fun crew and the other and most importantly, the right timing of the moon. You see, the brighter the moon, the less you see of the bioluminescent effect and the quarter moon during this trip forced us to really only see the bioluminescence under the pontoon boat which was not fun at all compared to when you could freely swim outside the boat and experience the true magic of this phenomenon. While it is still very cool to see, it just wasn’t as mind blowing as it could have been. Lesson learned to be very mindful of what phase the moon is in before booking.
Worth it!

We had a great time on the tour. The guides, Pete and Eric were knowledgeable and friendly and the tour was so fun.
Great trip- but be prepare and bring extra towels and dry clothes
Firas_A, Feb 2024
Crew was very kind and cordial. The spots we went to are amazing. The only inconvenience we encountered was that the boat does not have an enclosed area. So after dipping into water and on the way back, it was very cold. I would advise to bring set of dry clothes and extra set of towels to make sure you and your family stay warm.

We are so pleased you enjoyed the magic of Cayman and the bioluminous bay with us. Thank you so much for your feedback. We now have some blankets onboard to keep guests warm on the chilly nights.
Everything promised and more

This experience was AMAZING. We were lucky to have a small group but the tour facilitators were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure we had an amazing time. Not only did we get to see starfish at the first stop but also stingrays. The bioluminescence stop was such a unique experience and the guides took pictures and videos that they shared with us afterward - so we were able to both enjoy upfront and afterward. The weather was great and stargazing on the way back to the doc was an added plus. Absolutely recommend.

It was a fun evening. Very cool to be in the warm water after dark, seeing the bioluminous lights. A very unique experience.

Emily_J, Feb 2024
This trip was amazing. The tour guides were knowledgeable and really seemed to care about our comfort and safety. We all wore suits in the water to protect us in case there were jellyfish in the water which was really nice. The timing of the tour was such that the bioluminescence was very bright, but we were able to swim under the open area of the boat to see even better. We hope to bring our kids back someday to see it and would definitely use this group again.

Tour operators -boat captain and his helper were not very friendly . During this trip nothing was said -no conversation . No info. Nothing .

Renee_R, Jan 2024
Wonderful tour! We’ve been on many different tours over the years and this is like nothing we’ve experienced before! The crew was wonderful and gave us ample time to swim and experience the bioluminescence. Amazing!

Jennifer_L, Jul 2023
Great communication, very informative about the sea stars and bioluminescence! Even though we were at the tail end of the moon / tide cycle, we could still see the glow under the boat!!
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Thank you for the kind words. Being able to swim under the boat is what allows us to do the tour even with a full moon.
Worth Taking
Kenneth_K, Jul 2023
The boat and crew were great the tour is worth taking. However , this man made bay did not allow for a strong view of the bioluminescent plankton. Also the bay has strong light pollution from the houses surrounding it further lessening the effect.
Wouldn’t do it again.
Carrie_P, Jul 2023
Many people got stung by jelly fish. It did not match our expectations. We would not do this again. We do not recommend.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
We're sorry to hear about the jelly fish stings. These are beyond our control. We have vinegar onboard to soothe the sting. We hoped you enjoyed the rest of the trip.
Disappointed but enjoyed the boat ride
Amanda_C, Jul 2023
The guys at Seafarer Tours were very nice. They interacted with customers alot. The staff gets 5 stars. The bioluminescent part I give a 1. I did not go under the boat but my friend did... the glow part still was not that noticeable.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
We're sorry to hear the bioluminescence was not bright the night of your tour. Some nights are better than others. We're happy to hear the kind words about the staff.
Definitely a cool experience
Lydia_E, Jul 2023
My family and I thought the tour was wonderful - staff was helpful and accommodating and very sweet with my daughter - even let her drive the boat and made her feel comfortable to get in the water. We had higher expectations - we thought the whole section of the water we went to would light up but it wasn't like that and unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to spend a lot of time there but it is definitely a cool experience just expected a little more/different.
