Vanessa Was Great!!!!
Lynette_B, Mar 2024
Our tour guide Vanessa was very knowledgeable, pleasant and fun! It is a must see and just amazing that it is all underground.
Great tour! Worth the money!!
Denise_H, Mar 2024
This tour was awesome. Vanessa was amazing and full of knowledge. She remembered everyone’s names and was so personable. We learned so much about the history of Houston and it was fun exploring the tunnels. Highly recommend this tour.
Vanessa is an excellent guide !
Donna_F, Mar 2024
We are impressed by the Esperson building and the family's history. Clean, bright tunnels. Our guide Vanessa was very knowledgeable.
I believe is too...
Martha_J, Mar 2024
I believe is too expensive for something that people can make it without pay. Just hope the girl who was our guide gets a good pay.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
To clarify for future guests: Our Tunnel Tour of Downtown Houston is not only the top-rated city tour in Houston and among the top 5 rated city tours in the state, but it is also the Most Affordable ($26.50 on our website) live-guide city tour in Houston as well all major cities in Texas... Our tour provides special access to privately-owned, corporate building lobbies and sections including the original Skyscraper of Texas and most award-winning Skyscraper in the state that the public would otherwise not be able to visit on their own or be escorted off by security guards/law enforcement... As hard-working & retired Americans continue to be ripped off by greedy large corporations with record-breaking inflation and soaring prices for basic necessities, our small business has maintained its pre-pandemic prices because we dearly value each and every guest regardless of their economic status which is the reason why a family of 4 can join us for $106 on our website compared to $160-300 with the majority of live-guide city tour companies in the USA.. For future trips, we would encourage this Traveler to find another tour within their price point as this seems to have greatly impacted his/her experience. The Houston double decker tour is $40 per person, 75 minutes long, and covers 10% of what our Tunnel tour covers.. Lastly, the "girl" mentioned in this review does have a name Vanessa, which she shares in an introductory message with detailed meeting instructions and a post-tour message including a detailed list of her top Houston Recommendations. Our small business is lucky to have someone with her intelligence and passion on staff along with our other city guides Julie, Luis, and Dan. Because of our dedicated staff, we have had many educated, cultured travelers & travel publications tell us that their Tunnel Tour experience is right up there with the "most informative, engaging & detail-oriented" city tours that they have done both inside the USA and across the World.
Great guide and great way...

Great guide and great way to see what goes on in underground Houston and the beautiful buildings above ground.
Great experience.
Jonathan_W, Mar 2024
Great walk through of the under part of Houston. Certainly did not know it was not there if you are not from here.
Loved the underground tunnel experience!
Sharon_T, Mar 2024

Interesting tour full of much information
Julie_S, Mar 2024
The tunnel tour was very interesting and fun. Our tour guide Vanessa was very knowledgeable about Houston and it's history. I would have loved to explore more of the tunnels on our own, but I was afraid we would get lost.
Houston’s amazing underground city.
Richard_S, Feb 2024
I was amazed at how clean and how attractive the entire maze of tunnels that we traversed having come from one of those larger cities than Houston.
Great tour with Vanessa
Kayla_G, Jan 2024

Excellent and wonderful experience
Simon_C, Jan 2024
Our tour guide , Vanessa she was excellent. She is not only full with knowledge about all the highlights of the tunnel, the above famous building, she told us the history behind it. She talks clearly, answer our questions patiently. We have lived in Houston for more than 59 years. We enjoy the underground tour very much and plan to revisit it soon
Worth it, very enlightening tour
Jeanna_R, Jan 2024
Vanessa was very informative and knowledgeable about this tour. She tried to show us as many interesting areas as possible during the time. We were not bored. She was also attentive, friendly and kind to the tour attendees and staff at various locations. My daughter and I were very happy we took time to do this.
Very interesting
Sherry_V, Dec 2023
Lived in Houston all my life and never knew the city that existed underground. I suggest whether your visiting Houston or a resident it’s worthwhile.
Architecture from tunnel to tops
Jacqueline_E, Dec 2023
Vanessa was a great tour guide. However I think this tour is more of an informative and architectural tour with limited tunnel exposure as expected
Response from Host, Dec 2023
To clarify for future guests: It is called the Downtown Houston Air-Conditioned Tunnel tour because approx. 90-95% of the tour is conducted inside the air-conditioned Houston tunnel system accessible from 6am -6pm Monday through Friday. Based on this reviewer's comments, it does not seem as if he/she understood that they were inside the tunnel system (25-30 ft. below ground) during a majority of the 2-hour tour experience. On tour, guests can expect to spend 90-95% of their time inside the comfortable Houston tunnel system learning about some of the +100 businesses found down below and topics that touch on Houston's growing population, size, history, culture, NASA Space Center, diverse food scene, sports teams, theater district, medical district, city founders, corporate amenities, and architecture. During the holiday season, guests can also expect to take in the festive decor and giant Xmas trees that can make the Houston tunnels feel magical!
Under Downtown Houston
LoriB_L, Nov 2023
My friend was visiting for the Fall Holiday. We took the Houston tunnel tour with Vanessa. What a delight! Vanessa is truly passionate about her city. We toured a portion of the tunnels; but we were brought to street level for interesting perspectives and scale of the tallest and award-winning architecture in Downtown Houston. We even went to the 17th floor in the Niels Esperson building. Most residents in Houston have no idea that there are Downtown tunnels in Houston. This was my first visit after living in the Houston metropolitan area on and off for thirty years. The tour is a solid two hours. You will get your daily steps in, so wear comfortable shoes. The tunnels are CLEAN, bright and full of life, especially at lunch time. Dine, shop, have coffee, buy flowers... just go! The tour wa
Great Houston Tunnel Tour

Vanessa was an enthusiastic, personable and knowledgeable guide who made the tunnel tour fun and informative. I would recommend her to any visitor exploring Houston.
Be hungry so you can stay after and eat!
Lizette_H, Nov 2023
Our tour guide Vanessa was very knowledgeable and made it a great experience! It was interesting to see so much life in these tunnels. New word I wasn’t aware existed. Definitely recommend!
Excellent experience
Larry_S, Nov 2023
Excellent tour guide very knowledgeable made the tour extremely awesome. Thank you very much. Very wonderful day.
Great guide for the tour, but mostly just an underground mall.
Norm_N, Nov 2023
The tour guide, Vanessa, was amazing. Great enthusiasm, great volume, great pace and was a wealth of knowledge. She was really great. The tour content itself was OK. Essentially touring an underground mall. She definitely made it the best that she could with what she had to work with.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
To clarify for future guests: The tunnel system is NOT a mall. We would not recommend this area for window shopping, you will not find designer names or an ice skating rink as you would in most Houston malls. Our tour is very clear in its name or description that this is a walking city tour through a private underground tunnel system (largest in USA) to visit historic award winning buildings, learn about the city's history and culture, and take in beautiful award-winning architecture. If you want to have a fun time, learn about the city and take some cool photos, and see things most Houstonians have never seen before then this is a tour for you!
One of the best tours ever! And the best tour-guide, Vanessa!
Igor_Z, Nov 2023
looking down from the 17th floor building, amazing view! Vanessa was very detailed and professional, every word she said was very valued. We had no idea about such interesting places and history points before that tour.
