(Beer and wine are available for purchase.) Finish off your meal with blueberry cake for dessert.

You’ll also get to see a Tlingit Master Carver and his son at work. Watch as they carve into 10-foot-tall (3-meter-tall) cedar totem poles and fashion silver jewelry. Gain insight into their craft and Tlingit culture, and then perhaps purchase unique works of art as souvenirs from the gift shop.

An easy way to get in the Alaskan highlights

The whale watching was very fun. I wish we had hiked to the glacier instead of just the obervation area. Our bus driver implied we didn't have time. (We did!) The salmon bake was delicious and the location by the waterfall couldn't be beat.
    Breath Taking

Best whale watching experience!!!! Loved it all! Loved the adventure! Loved the hospitality! The food!
    Amazing customer service

This was the best excursion I've ever been on. I GREATLY appreciate them waiting. Our ship arrived 2 1/2 hours later than projected. This tour rearranged their schedule and still waited after a 2nd ship delay. I was bummed we would miss this but thanks to the awesome people running this tour we didnt miss it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Could have been better with a different tour company

Our driver was late picking us up and The first stop was the glacier. We hiked as fast as we could to get there snd get pictures. I felt bad for people who were not use to race walking. After we were rushed to the glacier they took us to our boat. It was enclosed and the guide took us past a group of whales to another spot with 1 because they wanted to give the ehales a break. What? the captain was Lee and when we finally went back by the large group of whales he rode very fast and far away from them. Other boats were getting great photos and there was no reason we couldnt have gotten closer to see them. We were very far away. So disappointing. I will book on my own with the other boats next time I go. Do not do this tour with this company. Use another tour thru Viator. The salmon bake was awful. The salmon was small and dry. The other food was not worth eating. We left immediately to go back to town. We only had a few stores open by the time we returned to even get souveniers. This tour sucked.
    Best experience EVER!

Libby and Lee love their jobs. They truly cared about our experience and to say it was unbelievably amazing is selling it short! Your bus drivers Mary and Sophia were simply the best! Gave great info and insight to your beautiful city The salmon bake experience was truly incredible and the setting was over the top! Ten star experience 💜
    Maximum Whale Experience

The efficient expertise of the nature guide and boat captain was extremely evident. Within an hour we were able to view several whales and sea lions. We witnessed a baby whale jumping and playing; we witnessed a pod of whales using bubble net fishing techniques, and we were educated along the way about all things Alaska/Whale. Thank you!

Nothing against the boat captain as he did a great job. The naturalist did not seem worried that we could not hear her at all. The speakers at the back of the boat did not work and she would have someone to look at it. Does not help those passage's in the back of the boat. At the least she could have stood in the boat and talked. The boat also had a large squeak in the back left that hurt our ears. We saw whale which was nice.
    Salmon Bake was the highlight!

Everything was great! The ending of this tour was the salmon bake which was great. Really enjoyed the food and the roasting of marshmallows around a nice fire.

    Whales, waterfall, food!!
    Kristi_B, Jun 2023
We were lucky to have a whale surface and dive not 15 feet from our boat. Libby and Terry were great. The glacier was further away than I was expecting though. The hole to the falls was nice and easy. The falls were raging when we were there beginning of June. The food at the salmon bake was excellent. My only improvement really is that although the instructions of where to meet were clear, the girl was holding a sign that said something different that what our paper said.
Great staff, overall would not do again
    Jennifer_D, May 2023
I wouldn’t do this excursion again which stinks to say because the staff was so nice but for the price I did not think it was worth it. If you don’t care to hike to the waterfall it is plenty of time to spend at the glacier. You only get 50 minutes total and the hike to the waterfall is about 10-15 if your walking at a fast pace. Definitely recommend seeing the waterfall as it was the highlight of this excursion. The whale watching was disappointing because we were so far away from the whales. Honestly I saw them closer on the cruise ship. I understand you can’t get too close but it was barely a speck in the water. The salmon bake my husband hated the food. For me it was ok but very bland. They have the free drinks hidden in the back and the bar up front. I didn’t see the blueberry cake they talked about. Super disappointing because I was looking forward to this part the most. Also the salmon has a maple glaze on it. If you don’t like that the salmon is very plain no seasoning. The place where the salmon bake is, is super nice though. Beautiful scenery and very clean! We were so thirsty until we got to the salmon bake so make sure to bring drinks because there were none and no places to buy until the last stop 6 hours later. Overall would not recommend.
    Good experience
    Samantha_K, May 2023
Overall it was a fun experience! Only slight issues were the cost of the excursion (we believe $150-175 per ticket seems more appropriate) and the short amount of time at the glacier. Thankfully we had already explored Mendenhall previous to this event, but you are only given approximately 50 minutes which is minimal for all that is provided at the glacier spot.
    Awesome Tour!!
    debra_S, May 2023
Tour was great - a calf was playing out there and jumping all around. Lauren was a wonderful naturalist, answering all of our questions with ease. Very approachable and easy to talk to so we asked A TON of questions. Captain Dan did a great job of finding the best sightings! The food at the salmon bake was just average but the overall experience made up for it!!
This will keep you busy for the day.

We were given complete and accurate instructions as to where we should meet our contact after disembarking from the ship. First stop was the whale watching. Driver and guide were both very informative. We were able to see a few whales off in the distance. and one breached for us that was closer by. Mendenhall Glacier was very large. It was interesting to learn how glaciers are formed. We walked around the visitor's area and saw the 20 min. film. Wish we would have had an hour 30 mins here instead of just an hour. The Salmon Bake was good. It was all you can eat. It wasn't crowded and they had many picnic tables available. Lemonade and side dishes were available buffet style. The salmon was grilled just right.

There were a couple of glitches with the trip that kept it from being a perfect time. But none the less, my son and I had a great time
    Good but overpriced

We had fun whale watching. The tour guide and captain were very nice and accommodating. Even saw whales jumping out of the water. We had about an hour at Mendenhall Glacier, the highlight of the trip for me. It's so beautiful and the weather was nice and clear for great picture taking. The salmon bake was delicious! I thought it was overpriced for the whole tour but if you can afford it, then you should do it.
    Whales, whales, whales

Great day in Juneau. Got very lucky with the weather, and saw loads of Humpbacks. Captain Tom and guide/naturalist Sarah were great as was guide Juneau Jeff. Another half hour at the glacier would have been nice but a great day overall. Well worth the price.

great way to spend your day in Juneau. After not spotting any whales for 1 hour, our guides were determined to show us a good time - we saw mating sea lions, and then, through their determination we changed location and spotted a whale! Salmon bake was delicious, with very nice staff.

Very slow getting off ship due to poorly organized tendering. Whale watch disappointing saw spouts of four whales total, but only two of them surfaced and none breached. Saw more from the cruise ship on return toward Seattle. Salmon bake was fair at best, much better many years ago at Rotary Club bake in Fairbanks. Mendenhall Glacier was nice. Guides were average.

Saw the most incredible sightings of orcas and humpbacks up close. A very memorable viewing of the glacier and great salmon bake. Lots of food and tasted great.
