What To Expect

Make your way on your own to Hurricane Hole Marina, where free parking is available. Learn the basics of equipment and safety, then follow your guide into the mangroves at an easy-going pace that’s well suited to all skill levels.

Watch for wildlife along the way: the mangroves are home to tropical fish, crabs, bright sea stars, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, sponges, and a diverse range of sea birds. Every trip is different, but experienced guides trace routes through the best of the mangrove environment.

As you paddle, hear stories about the geological structure of the Florida Keys, and find out what makes them so unique in the United States. At the end of your mangrove kayak trip, paddle back to home base, where you finish the day.

This was such a fun experience. The mangroves are beautiful. We saw fish, nursing sharks, jellyfish, iguanas, slugs and a manatee. Our tour guide was so knowledgable, we learned a ton about the mangroves and the ecosystem there. The actually kayaking was easy and relaxing. Would definitely go again.

Leah was extremely informative and the mangrove absolutely beautiful. I thought it would be difficult to kayak for 2 hours, but Leah did stop during the experience to discuss the different creatures and the ecosystems. Great adventure in the Keys as opposed to shopping all day.

Family enjoyed the adventure. Rowing a kayak was a quick learning curve for my wife and 13 & 12 yrs old kids, which was fun to watch. Didn’t get to see any manatees but was an overall fun experience.

Such a relaxing day!!! We chose to go in a double kayak, it was super sturdy even when I leaned over to see the baby nurse sharks! Got to see and touch upside down jellyfish and sea snails, the guide Rachel (who was amazing) told stories the whole time about the wildlife and the history of the area which kept us very entertained. We are not athletic at all but felt this trip was very leisurely and easy for people of any level of kayaking.

so amazing! Our guide was great picked us up and dropped us off! We got to be part of a turtle rescue mission, we saw tons of wildlife, including so many manatees, and a shark and other wildlife! Book from the cruise ship, and felt totally safe and comfortable highly recommend！
