What To Expect

Begin your tour in central Krakow, where you’ll join up with your guide, slip on your helmet and hop on your bike. Follow your guide through the city streets, passing Pope John Paul II’s former residence and traveling along the Vistula River into the countryside.

Purchase snacks at a riverside cafe and recharge before pedaling up to Poland's oldest functioning monastery, Tyniec Abbey. Learn about the daily rituals of the monks as you wander the church and museum, and hear the history of 11th-century structure. Afterward, enjoy some time to peruse the shop, filled with treats crafted by the monks, including wine, oils, teas and more.

Cycle through the Wolski Forest, pausing to explore the ruins of a hillside fortress. Conclude your excursion at a scenic lake ringed by cliffs, the site of a former quarry where John Paul II worked during Poland’s Nazi occupation. Capture the sunset views of Krakow from the clifftops before returning to your original departure point.

Great way of seeing outside Krakow

A great tour, well organized and prepared. The tour leader was great and the views - sites were impressive. However you must have a good experience of bike riding not just someone who uses a bike every now and than. The road is long and has a number of hills. The bikes were not all 100% as should be so when you are not experienced this makes a lot of difference. Otherwise very very good.

The countryside tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Krakow. A great way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the Old Town and experience a taste of the countryside. Arriving at the monastery near sun set also provided the most beautiful light for photos. We now feel like we can now venture out on our own on bikes and explore the further away places...just follow the paths!! The tour guide was really helpful and provided relevant historical information of the areas we visited in a relaxed manner.

The biking was enjoyable and primarily on designated bike paths. We stopped a few times and the Abby was worth seeing. The leader was very good and didn't interject needless stories and chatter as some tour leaders do.

After 4 nights in Krakow we were looking for something a little different to fill our last day as we had a late flight home. The trip turned out to be much more than just a filler, almost the highlight of the holiday. Our guide was great, professional but fun. Bikes were good quality and the route along the river out of town towards the Abbey was picturesque and easy going. Coming back slightly harder, just a couple of hills but worth it to do a circular and see parts of modern Krakow that generally the average visitor to Krakow wouldn't see.
