What To Expect

Your private full-day trip to the Genting Highlands from Kuala Lumpur begins with a handy hotel pickup so you don’t need to navigate public transport. Escape the busy city and head to the cooler climate of the highlands in an air-conditioned car without having to book bus tickets.

On arrival at the foot of the highlands, ride the scenic Skyway cable car up to the resort. Explore the theme parks, shops, restaurants, and impressive lookout points independently without having to keep up with a guide or a group. Time at destination a little too long unless you are a gambler or with kids who want to use the theme parks. Otherwise it's just a sprawling shopping mall which can be "done" in a couple of hours. Highlight is the Lebanese restaurant on level 2. Made the whole thing worthwhile. Nice views from cable car. Affordable for what it is.

We had a great time. Harry was a great guide. He knew many facts and information about Kuala Lumpur. He knew the history of all the sights he took us to. The views from the top of the cable car was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to do something different in Kuala Lumpur.

We were very disappointed with this tour. First of all, we were supposed to be picked up at our hotel. The day before, we were notified we had to travel to another hotel to be picked up which cost us an additional 25.00 Malaysian currency. Then we had to travel around to pick up others at various hotels. Once arriving at the cable car @ 11:00, we rode the cable car to the top. Walked around for a while and rode the cable car back down. The cable ride was 30 minutes round trip. Now at 12:30 we were told we had to wait until 4pm to return. The driver was unable to accommodate our schedule. We unaware of the long duration this tour took. We the had to spend an additional 50.00 Malaysian currency to find a cab take us to our hotel. This was very stressful as the description of this tour was quite vague.

Genting Highlands experience is incredible but ensure you receive correct Cable Car ticket from operator!

The purpose for the tour was unfortunately made complicated when the Tour operator was supposed to have the ticket for me to board the cable car and sent me the wrong ticket (was for another traveller, on a different day) but in the end the experience of Genting Highlands was mind-blowing. Once you get on the cable car, there is so much to see and do. Would recommend the experience to others!

Nice Trip, nice Forest view, pagoda, big Statue of Buddha, Caves and figures relating to the faith. The cable car stops at the Cave where you have to get out to Walk to Pagoda and the Statue , After completing the visit, you Take the Same cable car, which takes you to the top. There Are a Lot of Restaurants, where you can decide in which of them you want to have your lunch and coffee. As the time comes ,you Take the cable car to Return to your driver

Great experience on Hill top

We had great experience on cable car ride up to top of mountain. The facility up there were awesome, very high technology and plenty of restaurant. Great view from the summit, only thing it doesn't have much to do for those that does not gamble. The tour is 8 hour if you don't gamble and spend time in casino and you are in aging group not enough thing to do to burn entire 8 hours there.

We were offered to go to Batu caves (not on advert) and we had already been. Just as well, as we needed the extra time at Genting. The stop at temple on way was probably more interesting than the casino etc and if you wanted to do theme parks a day trip is very likely not enough. We went in quiet times - no lines etc. any busy times you would likely find all day in queues! Our driver was lovely but talked a lot lol… he keeps sending us messages everyday after our trip and I’ve blocked him on WhatsApp as it’s annoying (albeit harmless good mornings etc). Little stop to duty free chocolate on way back was nice. My main issues are With the advertising of Viator tour people and Viator usability as it’s impossible to go back to orig booking / ad info to verify exactly what was advertised. We had 1 booking (another operator) not take us to somewhere included and this operator was going to take us “extra places”). It would be great if the itinerary advertised was shown in booking confirmation and the operators actually list all inclusions so an informed decision can be made on bookings. We won’t likely be using Viator again for this reason.

Its very excellent trip but its entry cost is less at Genting Highlands. The cost includes only cable ride but if you purchase the tickets at Genting highlands then you can take all other ride tickets also. But, only travel cost is little higher.

the cable car ride and malls visits were the best. only thing we missed was the sky tour was dropped probably due to bad weather. However, we enjoyed shopping in the mall and good quality tasty meal. The driver Aris Fadzilah bin Hashim was extremely helpful. Not only he is a very good and safe driver but also a very knowledgeable person. A good trip spoiled by the guide and driver

I am giving this review a 3* for two reasons. First reason - did not rate our guide Shirley who wasted our time in a group showing us retail and food outlets when the group of all adults could have done this left on their own. There was no constructive line of walking around. We were going around in circles almost reaching our 100000 steps at this rate. To top all of this off, the guide was almost demanding a tip at the end?? I thought tips were given for a good service? How was her service remotely any good? The talk on the tour was mostly about her and how high profile customers had given her generous tips in the past. This is a blatant hint. Secondly, our driver had nothing but road rage whilst returning us to our hotels in rush hour traffic. Weaving in and out of traffic, shaking his head through frustration and putting the passengers in a risky situation. The only thing I got out of this was the views going up in the cable car and the choice of restaurants and bars. If you want a good day, then avoid this tour guide and her driver.

Overpriced..this activity can be booked yourself without viator

This trip was completely over priced. We were picked up by a driver, who dropped us off at the cable car ride without any other information apart from saying he would pick us up from this point at 4pm. Masks needed to be worn on the cable cars, we were not informed about this. I had to queue with those buying tickets to just purchase them. Had I been informed I would have bought the masks before hand. The driver sent us one used ticket for skyworld. My husband had to wait for 45mins for someone in viator to issue another ticket for him. I would not recommend booking this trip via viator. They issued standard tickets which anyone could purchase themselves. We could have just travelled via taxi and bought our tickets ourself.
