    Big disappointment

    Poor organization of the tour. Our ship arrived one hour late, the tour started late because of that. Once on board the bus, we were informed that the microphone was not working, explanations were given sporadically. We did not have our lunch until 3 pm as the guide did not adjust the itinerary. The food was not properly cooked, fried fish came out still raw. Don't waste your time and money for this tour.

    Decent mix of bus tour and walking stops over 6 hours including a high quality overly large meal. Saw wonderful local market, vibrant murals close up and from distance, plus super town plus seascape views. Javier informative, kept good pace going. Two colleagues also very friendly. Punctual overall.

    The ship came in late but the guide obviously waiting since they had a full bus from the ship. The guides had no microphone and very poor communication on ongoing itinerary. Lunch didn’t happen until 3 pm and that’s because we all had to ask for it. Lunch location was good but service and food below fair. We had our last stop at gardens after lunch though it seemed they had planned on doing gardens before lunch. we had to continually ask how long we had at each stop as they did not communicate it. At one point the bus had moved without anyone’s knowledge. The a/c in bus also poor

    T Our guide not knowledgeable. No historical commentary. Disorganized. Some venues closed when we arrived. Vehicle not cleanest.

    We saw the highlights of the area & the driver & interpreter were very nice. We also had a very nice lunch. Unfortunately, they need to find an English speaking guide with more knowledge of the area. They didn’t know what was opened or closed on the day we were there. They could prepare a bit before taking a group on a tour.

    Our small group tour was led by a friendly and knowledgeable guide. She took us to see the landmarks of La Serena and also to places that let us experience the local flavor. In the market, where we purchased some beautiful items made from alpaca wool, she stayed close to help us with translation and converting the local currency to US dollars. We rode in a very nice air-conditioned mini van. Lunch at a local seaside restaurant -- with wine and dessert! -- was included. Great experience!

    The tour itinerary was good but execution lacked in organization. Our tour driver and guide were both new and didn't really know how to manage 14 independent people by setting clear expecations (e.g., "meet back here at 1:00", so they spent most of their time trying to gather up the troups, so then we were running late. Additionally, the restaurant we went to was either short-handed or caught off guard, so we were running extra late. BUT, it was a lovely trip to the lighthouse, museum, market, restaurant, and the Third Millenium Cross. We had to convince our driver that we had to LEAVE NOW to get back to the ship on time. I think that by next season (2024) the tour company will have trained their guides a bit and it will be a great experience. All in all, a great day, and good value.

    There might have been some confusion as our 3 ½ hour tour ended up being 7 hours. Our guide worked hard but had no microphone on the mini bus so was difficult for those in the back of the bus to hear. Since this is not a regular cruise stop, I’d suggest skipping a shore excursion here. We did get a surprise included lunch with a glass of Chilean wine, however!

    Our guides Javiera and Nicole and our driver Edwardo were the best part of our visit. My husband has a mobility scooter and they really took care of him. The restaurant chosen to have our free meal was great. Along the ocean.

    I rode up to the arms of the Cruz Del Tercer Milenio and had a beautiful view of Coquimbo, La Serena, and the ocean.

    If you are visiting La Serena or Coquimbo you really should book this tour. First of all our tour guide Natalia was excellent. Plus we had the owner of the company as our driver. He spoke little English but Natalia would translate for us and he had such pride in his country and loved sharing stories and showing off so much of the cities we visited. The tour included a lunch of empanadas and pico sours. This tour was definitely worth the money and the time. Trust me and take this tour.

    We loved Christian and Nico, they showed us so many beautiful aspects of Coquimbo and La Serena. We had a wonderful day!! Thank you! We especially loved Cruz Del III Milenio. What an absolutely amazing sight!!
    ‘Meh’ tour.

    Both Coquimbo and La Serena were probably more interesting than presented, but neither was impressive. While we do not expect others to speak English in foreign countries, we do expect better English on a tour where we pay for it. Our guide was very limited and failed to point out or mention many of the sights we passed, including a shipwreck and many historical buildings, and talked very little about local culture, history or geography. Had to drag info out of him with multiple questions. The Fuerte Coquimbo park at the point was a cheesy, poorly maintained re-creation of an historic site (where he offered limited information.). Both downtowns were probably beautiful architecture 70 years ago, but have fallen into disrepair with dirty graffiti. The Cruz del tercer milenio (giant concrete cross) offered a nice view, but the site is also falling into disrepair, with areas closed for “maintenance” where nothing was happening.

    The City Tour was a most interesting experience. We saw sights in two or three towns in Chile. The tour guides know the history of all the places that we went. It was most interesting. We saw several churches which are among my favorite things. They re old and the tour guides knew the history. We were given the opportunity to shop in two or three different markets. I am disabled and slower than most tours can accommodate. Since there were two tour guides one stayed with my husband and I and another person that was slower. When we started the tour they asked when we had to be back. My husband told them and they tailored the tour to fit within the time constraints of the cruise ship.

    Viele Stops mit herrlicher Aussicht auf die Stadt (Leuchtturm, Fort, 3. Milleniumkreuz). Nicole spricht ein gut verständliches Englisch und gibt gute Informationen. Da die Tour aufgrund der langen Liegezeit unseres Schiffs lange dauerte, kamen wir unerwartet noch in den Genuss eines guten Mittagessens (Empanadas mit Wein oder Pisco). Besonders imponierend war der Besuch in den Armen des Milleniumkreuzes mit Superblick auf die Stadt. Das war nicht mehr zu toppen!!!
