Good trip too far to walk for pickup

Justin our guide was great knowledgeable and a good driver did not feel rushed at all Got us. Back to the ship on time The person who texted me to remind me where to meet the tour said in the text it is a 7 minute walk. It took us over 25 minutes My wife walks with a cane. This was way too far for her to walk. You need to find a place closer to the cruise ship for pickup

We loved this day. Marty was a really knowledgeable guy and so enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with us. He was also helpful in getting those who were physically challenged as close as possible to the waterfall or whatever we were visiting.

It was beautiful but not worth the money. The description says 10 hour, it was basically 7 since half the road is inaccessible, which we weren’t told until we were on the road.

I would like to thank Kaili for bringing everyone back safely back to their hotels. 8 Hours from Kahului, 9 hours from Kihei, 10 hours from Westside(Lahaina, Ka'anapali), 11 hours from Kapalua. This is estimated time for the tour, but cannot be exact. Times can differ depending on the traffic and how long everyone gets back on the van each stop. Because road to Hana is still undeveloped part of the island, everyday we have to check and decide whether certain parts of the island is dangerous or not safe to travel. Everyday is different, the road could be washed out, mud slides are common, fallen trees could be blocking the road, power lines could be down on the road, rocks could be blocking road, 18 wheeler could get caught between/over the bridge, emergency vehicles need to get to Hana, we would rather be safe than sorry. All of the things actually happened and the road closure could be an hour to few months. SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE CONCERN.

Giving this all day road trip a 4 mainly because we believe it’s over priced, and the breakfast and lunch wasn’t awful but wasn’t very good. It’s best to probably bring your own lunch. I give the driver Larry a 5 star. He was very thoughtful and patient with the 10 of us in the van. He drove slowly & cautiously around the curvy roads. He narrated the entire ride, shared historical details of the area including knowledge of the plants in the rain forest. He gives clear instructions and set expectations before and at each of the stops. He has every timed well but didn’t rush us either. He’s also genuinely passionate about the island and clearly loves his job. The leg room in the van is a bit tight. But there are multiple opportunities to stop and stretch. At a minimum I appreciated that an experienced local that can navigate the terrain and is familiar with every nook & cranny of the island. I don’t think I would have enjoyed the road trip as much had I driven it myself. It’s an all day drive and you have to stay vigilant on the windy roads.

The operator cancelled us 15 hrs before the trip. Then we were booked by Viator on another one and we were cancelled an hour later.

I am really sorry for this experience. No one expected the Lahaina Fires would produce so much deaths. We were expecting it to be just a brush fire and just like any other year, we thought it would be gone. But as the 8/8 progressed, the death was at 8, 8/9 it jumped to 36 deaths, then i knew this was big. We needed to do something, we volunteered all our vehicles, got everyone that wanted to volunteer, and started to pickup emergency people, clothing(many people ran out in their under wear), water and supplies to shelters, when FEMA arrived they needed to get to the burnt site, when our sister state(California) sent us volunteers for Search and Rescue, we were on top of it transferring people to assist, people whose house were burnt, they needed to go to shelters. We were busy helping. I am sorry, but we were in no state of mind to run tours. starting from 3rd week we were able to catch our breath and realize, we needed to pay bills. There was no one to help us. All the tour guides who volunteered also had payments coming up. They have to pay rent, bills after bills. We as company, we did our part by giving as much money we had and gave to our people who needed it to pay rents. Now we realize we need money to pay for gas, our office rent, car payments, repair bills...... But we always have faith, God will provide for us.

The trip to Hana was beautiful! The only issue we had was the van was too small and crowded. We were last to be picked up, so ended up in the back. 😕 Kind of expensive, especially since we were uncomfortable in the back of the van.

On the tour we try not to fill all the seats. We do have extra seats for everyone's comfort. Always ask if anyone is willing to sit in the back. There are guests who would be more than happy to sin in the back. Price of everything went up. An we have the most reasonable and lowest price compared to many companies. Ours is reasonable.

She did a great job sharing facts about not only Hana Highway but the island of Maui overall as well as the vegetation. She got a good grasp of the group overall and made sure to hit spots pertinent to all members for the tour. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide, Lei, was PHENOMENAL! Since she grew up in & around Hana, she was very knowledgeable about the area and always took the time to point out fun an interesting things to see and do even if they were a little off the itinerary so we really got a true Road to Hana experience. She was upbeat from the moment she arrived at 6:45am and kept up the positive aloha vibes until she dropped us off at 5pm. I would highly recommend this tour and suggest they request Lei as their guide to all of my family and friends visiting Maui. Mahalo, Lei for a day our family will always remember!
