Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Chivitavecchia. Loved hearing about how the Pope called Michael Angelo in to finish the last part of the Bastion and the structure is named after him but he only designed a and built a small percent of the structure. The restaurant we went to for our wine was so good we went back there for dinner.

Great Choice to Spend an Afternoon

Our tour guide Alessia was very informative about the history of the area. The tour was great! The food stops (especially the last one) were very authentic and tasty foods! We would love to do one of the tours that she does in Rome also in the future.

Had a great time learning and seeing the sites of Civitavecchia with our wonderful tour guide Roberta! Roberta was a great guide and walked us all around the town. Tour included a mid-way stop for coffee and concluded with a great big pirate treasure looking box full of tasty local food!

Great insight into the origins of this port city

Once off the ship the free shuttle dropped us off at the meeting place and it was easy to find Roberta, our guide. Roberta was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand/talk to. The pace of the tour was very relaxed and the history shared with us was fascinating especially about the origins of the port city and the famous artists/sculptors who contributed over the years. Would highly recommend this tour if you wish to spend a few hours in Civitavecchia.

There was some confusion about the meeting point, but Roberta did a Great Job with the tour! She shared a lot of things about Civitavecchia and her passion for the area is obvious. The food and wine at the end of the tour was a good reward for everyone!!

Food tour -- ideal way to enjoy Civitavecchia

Love love loved our walking food tour! Our guide, Francesca was knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. I hadn't realized there was so much history in Civitavecchia! Expect a lot of walking, but at a leisurely pace. We visited a pastry shop and enjoyed a delicious pastry plus a traditional "day of the dead" cookie and our choice of coffees or sodas. Our final stop included a treasure chest (literally) filled with cheeses, meats, bread sticks, spring rolls and more. We couldn't finish it all! Bravo, Francesca. Well done!

Really friendly and informative guide - Alicia. An enjoyable way to learn something about a little known city and the opportunity to sample local delicacies. It was technically a private tour as only my husband and I were on it. It was like a walk and a pleasant chat with an old friend.

Great way to spend a morning

Great walking your and tasting, very informative with a great guide called Roberta. We brought our six year old daughter, who also enjoyed the tastings very much. She was given fruit juices instead of wine, but enjoyed the same foods as the adults. Throughly recommend!

Informative and yummy tour

Great, informative tour in Civitavecchia. Roberta is a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable. We saw some areas of the city that we wouldn't have known existed without going on this tour. There is a lot of walking, but that is to be expected. Nothing too strenuous. The ice cream stop was a real treat and the final food tasting was a lot of fun with a great sampling of Italian food and wine, plus some great conversation.

Great day in Civitavecchia

We missed our scheduled tour at 9:30, due to an email from Viator stating the starting time was 3:30. We assumed the time had been changed so we made other plans. At 9:30, we received a text from Incitur saying our guide was waits for us. We were not able to get to the starting point in time. Salvatore at Incitur was fantastic. He made arrangements for a private tour for us at 3:30. Anna, our guide was exceptional. Her knowledge of Civitavecchia and its history was amazing. The tour ended with a delicious charcuterie plate and of course some local wine. What started as a frustrating morning, ended up as a simply wonderful experience. Thank you so much Salvatore, an especially Anna. We’ll always remember this day.

We did not want an all day excursion and chose one close to the port. We were pleasantly surprised with the tour with Anna. She was informative, fun and so lovely. I could have spent all day with her. Highly recommend Anna and the local tours by her group. She made sure our group of 3 adults and my 8yo son had a individualized and fun experience.

Our guide was lovely and knew so much history, however, we expected more of a food and tasting tour. They advertised pizza and bruschetta but we never had an opportunity to try those, however we did get gelato, meat and one type of cheese.

Civitavecchia is not a big city and we preferred two places with abundant tasting to smaller tastings in order to spend more time getting to know the city. This was such an informative tour. We didn’t expect the additional education of the area (which was great). The pizza was great and the ice cream. We expected a sample of pasta. The sample box was cute and tasty.

Highly recommend! This was the best tour!! The only bad part was it had to end! Roberta was a wonderful guide…she knew so much about this beautiful city. The food tastings were amazing. I would do this tour again!
