We limit the amount of hotels we visit for pickups, so that we can spend more time at the Dam, and less time on the bus doing pickups. Our hotels for pickup are strategically placed up and down the strip including downtown, so your own hotel should be either right next door or a very short walk away from where you will meet the bus.
What To Expect
Following pickup at select Las Vegas hotels, climb in to the climate-controlled vehicle for the drive to the Hoover Dam. Get to know your guide and small group along the way, learning about Hoover Dam history through your guide's commentary.
Upon arrival, start your visit with the Powerplant Tour. Descend 524 feet (160 meters) into the walls of the Black Canyon to see the Nevada Powerwing. Stroll through the generators and see the enormous pipe inside one of the diversion tunnels. After poking around in the depths of the earth, take the elevator back up to the Visitor Center. Get a full picture of the Hoover Damn's history through the exhibits and displays that show the building of the dam and its daily operations.
The highlight of this tour is the Walk on the Top portion: trek over the top of the dam itself. This excursion is one of the only from Las Vegas to offer this option. Stop by the bypass bridge to see the dam from above, before hopping back into your bus to head back to Las Vegas.
During the trip home, stop for lunch to fuel up after your day of learning, seeing and doing.
Your tour concludes with drop-off back at your select hotel in Las Vegas.

This was our first guided tour of anything. We were so glad we did this one as we would have never seen all the things we saw, nor learned the history and details. Our guide Trevor was so knowledgeable...and funny! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. We got to walk up on the bridge that overlooks the dam. That one has some stairs or switchbacks to go up...but the view is so worth it.
The pickup point was a very short walk from our hotel. The bus was right on time and Mel, our driver was amazing. The ride was so smooth, and he made getting around seem effortless.
The only downside was that the government had cancelled the inside part of the tour. But we were treated to a side trip to Boulder City instead! We were given time to roam the town and get coffee and such.
I would absolutely recommend this tour. Just be sure to wear comfy shoes !

I had the most amazing time with Harrison and our driver Ken. Harrison has amazing people skills and communication. I am a back seat driver and I was very impressed with the way Ken handled the coach. Amazing time on the tour.

Loved the commendation of our guide Harrison, and his witty banter Learned information on various properties and other useful info not advertised on the trip. This trip was well worth exploring this engineering marvel, which has paid and continues to pay huge dividends to the surrounding states. Our driver Ken was equally top notch, navigating the bus in some tight areas. Definitely a trip worth booking

First the good Very well organized and excellent tour for the Hoover Dam portion. Great time management for the different experiences. Good guide and we liked the fact the guide was not the driver - it felt safer. Now for the needs to be improved: the tour operators needs to skip the time and money wasted on a VERY mediocre lunch stop. Instead, pass out buttered bagels when you board the bus along with a COLD water (all of the water was warm!) and then pass out a snack or 2 when you get back on the bus when you leave the HD. And since you're not wasting 45 min on the restaurant stop, you could add 15 min at the HD and advise participants to get a snack at the Visitor Center if they like. Less expensive for the operator and better for the participants.

It was a very good experience and the tour guide and driver were awesome! The only issue that probably cannot be resolved is that direction to where to be picked up (ie. Treasure Isles is not marked with any signage. This leads to confusion due to all the other vehicles there. Overall the tour and sights were outstanding.
