Overview

Experience beautiful mountains and pristine glacial waters of the Julian Alps during a guided tour of Lake Bled, departing from Ljubljana. What To Expect

Meet your guide at your Ljubljana hotel and take a scenic drive through the Slovenian countryside to Lake Bled.

Once you arrive, hop out for a walk around the lake and hear the history of the area from your guide. Make your way into town and try a taste of the Bled cream cake, a local favorite, with your small group.

Afterward, enjoy some free time to explore on your own. Opt to visit Bled Castle, built on a precipice above the city and overlooking the lake, or ride a traditional wooden boat out to the pilgrimage church set on the lake's island (own expense).

After a full day of sightseeing, rejoin with your group for the ride back to your original departure point in Ljubljana.

Please be advised that due to the the winter season and the shorter daylight hours, a portion of our tour may be conducted after dark. Additionally, participants should be aware that the Pletna boat ride might not be available during our afternoon tours because of their winter schedule. We appreciate your understanding, we strive to provide the best experience possible regardless of the season.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Luka worked hard to make sure we all enjoyed our trip.

Luka was our driver and tour guide and he was a delight. However, there were 8 of us, all from different countries he addressed all our questions and gave adequate time to each twosome. He tried hard to make everyone we encountered do the same. It was a delightful day, we learned so much about Lake Bled and its history. He even drove us to Tito's mansion overlooking Lake Bled.

Enjoyable trip to Bled, good guide and nice group of people. Stunning scenery. If going in the off-season, would recommend going in the morning as the boats to the island stop running at 2pm.

I did this tour on the day of my birthday [and met someone who was also doing the same thing.] Even though it was a bit cold and rainy I found this location magical....I highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to get a quick overview of Lake Bled and the castle. Our tour guide was great and he was very knowledgeable.

Highly recommended tour

Lake Bled and its surroundings are very beautiful. We went on a day with intermittent rain and still very much enjoyed it. The mountains partially covered by lower clouds looked amazing. We were also able to appreciate the beauty of the country along the way. Our guide (I am really sorry but I don't remember her name) was friendly, very enthusiastic and informative, particularly about the history and general aspects of Slovenia.

Kaya was an amazing guide and I really enjoyed the small nature of the group. The weather wasn’t great this day but Kaya did a great job talking about Slovenian culture and the area we went. She also had some other options for activities and got us back to town safely even though there were flash floods in the area. Amazing day!

We truly enjoyed our trip to Bled. Bled is such a beautiful and serene place in the fall, almost like a fairy tale. I recommend taking the boat ride to the island and strolling the streets of the nearby town.

I did really have a great time. The guide, Michael, was treating me and others in the group very well, gave us information about Bled, as well as Slovenia. He repeated it again and again that we were not in any hurry so we could take our time to enjoy Bled as much as we wished. The scenery of the Lake Bled itself is breathtaking. I was so lucky to be there on a very good day with the clear sky. So it is a well worth visit.

This was a lovely trip. The scenery in this area is just beautiful. We had what can only be described as typical English weather - rain, rain and more rain. However, we saw Bled Castle minus the rain and this was great. Our trip over to the island in Bled lake on a little wooden boat called a Pletna took place plus rain, but how can anywhere look so beautiful in such conditions. Our guide Lana was charming, knowledgeable and fun to be with. There were just 5 of us on the trip and it was a lovely day. Would certainly recommend.

We had a terrific guide and shared this experience with 1 other person. We had plenty of time to see Lake Bled and the area surrounding it. The only negative fact was that it rained most of the day so our photos were not as clear due to the poor weather. I wish the weather was better and we could have taken cleared photos. Our trip to Bled in August was wonderful; my husband and I both enjoyed every minute of our time - the castle, the lake, the island, the Church and the "cremeschitte" were fantastic and exceeded expectation! Vladmir was an outstanding guide who happily shared his wealth of knowledge, provided good company but was still professional in his approach at all times.
