They literally sent an email right before my trip canceling stating the city was doing maintenance!! It was my husband's surprise birthday gift and it was ruined. I understand things happen but they didn't even provide enough time for me to plan something else. Very unprofessional. They offered a credit, NO I have a better idea. Refund my money and provide me with a complimentary trip for wasting my time.

As the official boat concessionaire for Long Beach Parks and Recreation at Rainbow Lagoon we do our best to give our guests ample notice when there are closures due to parks maintenances and emergencies (with text messages, emails, and an alert bar on our website.). Unfortunately this was a city issue and miscommunication with WheelFun Rentals the maintenance was unplanned and when our staff showed up to open the Lagoon had been half drained. Hi Kristin, As a boat concessionaire, we are, unfortunately, limited to the bodies of water that are already in place in parks, and that includes their location and size. We pride ourselves in providing a fun recreation service to visitors and locals alike so people can get out on the water, and not just look at it. Our Rainbow Lagoon location offers nice views of the Long Beach Harbor and Hyatt Hotel at a convenient location across the street from Shoreline Village full of shops and restaurants. That location is also walking distance to the Aquarium of the Pacific, LB Convention Center, Pike Shops, easy parking, and more! While Rainbow Lagoon Park has a body of water that’s smaller than our other locations, most all of our guests enjoy doing 2-3 leisure laps around the lagoon during their 1-hour rental. In addition to this Long Beach location, we offer swan boat rentals in Echo Park Los Angles, Lake Balboa Van Nuys, Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, and Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim. For those guests looking for a larger body of water, we recommend going to our Echo Park location and trying our free Find and Seek game while you paddle the lake. Thank you Glenn for your review! . It is great to hear that you enjoyed visiting us for night rides. Our pedal boats are human-powered and so they do require a touch of exercise to keep them moving. Our boats feature a large hull for increased buoyancy that creates a super stable and smooth ride. And our large paddlewheel makes for much more efficient pedaling so the boat moves with much greater ease compared to other pedal boats on the market. Our swan boats glide on the surface of the water creating less friction than other human-powered boats. So while our boats do require human power to keep them moving, we pride ourselves are providing the best pedal boat to explore the lake.
