We had a great time visiting the local wine region outside of Lyon with our fantastic host Justine. She was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and especially the local varietals. We had a chance to drive up into the hills overlooking the Rhône river in the Cote-Rotie region to see the vineyards up close and personal and tasted a dozen or so wines from two Domaines in the area surrounding Condrieu and Ampuis. Beautiful views, great wines and enjoyable company on our trip. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys wine!

Excellent package

Two very contrasting visits, which was an excellent combination. The guide was very enthusiastic and presented well. A bit disappointing that the second producer had run out of the latest vintage of the wines grown at the spot we visited - but I wouldn't have changed the venue. Hopefully he will have better weather going forward!

Great Wine tasting tour in Lyon!

This was an amazing tour! You get to see many different steps in wine making from the vineyards to the tasting room. We tasted many great wines. Our guide, Justine, was knowledgeable about the wine and taught us how to taste it. Really enjoyed our time on this tour and would definitely recommend.

Justine was an incredible guide, and very knowledgeable about wines, vineyards, and the winemaking process. The meeting point was easy to identify. She took us to two different wineries, Domaine Barge in Ampuis and Domaine De Boisseyt in Chavanay. The experience at Domaine Barge was the more interesting of the two, as it included a tour of the wine cave (including HUGE oak barrels used for aging) and an extensive description of their winemaking process and philosophy. The wines we tasted in the two places were a great representation of the Northern Rhone varietals. Along the way, we drove on narrow, winding roads through expansive vineyards, where Justine explained the difference in how the vines were staked/supported, and the influence of the weather on grape growing. She did an excellent job of connecting with the 8 of us guests while we were driving to the vineyards, finding out where we were from and our interest in/experience with wine tasting. We would definitely tour with her again!!

This was one of the best viator tours I've experienced. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, puntual and fun. Our four hour excursion included views from the steep hills of the vineyards, two winemaker visits that allowed is to try 12 different wines.

Fun tour with a small group Let by Justine. She was a great guide very knowledgeable about wine and the region. We visited two lovely wineries and got lots of great info!! Very fun way to spend a good part of the day.

This was our first wine tour in Europe and we didn't know quite what to expect. It was exactly as advertised, and even better! Justine was very knowledgeable, the other tour guests in the van with us were lovely, and the two vineyards we visited were gorgeous and provided delicious wines. We highly recommend this tour to get to know everything about la vallée du Rhône!

Visited two vineyards - about a 30-40 min bus ride. ~25 people in total. Very well done, great history, stunning vineyards, super tour guides, we had a great time. Highly recommend.

Justine was a great tour guide and we enjoyed our wine tour so much! She was helpful (we had some travel issues and she was able to help pick us up and adjust the meeting point), communicative, very kind and personable, and knowledgable. We learned about the different regions, grapes, and management systems for wine in the Rhone region near Lyon. We got to see the vineyard and hear about the growing process. After that we went to two wineries for tastings! The first was cold inside and less generous in pours, but had nice wines and gave us a tour of their operations and cellar. The second was our favorite and we again got to try many wines (I think 5 or 6 at each?) and they shared with us a vintage from the year we were born! Justine helped facilitate each tasting along with the staff member who ran the tasting at each winery. She helped translate to english, added some extra background knowledge, and answered all of our questions. Having the pick up and drop off was great and on the rides Justine pointed out parts of Lyon and provided us with more stories and facts of wine and Lyon! Just something to be aware of - there is no opportunity for food in the four hours unless the wineries provide some small bread or cheese. Overall, a great tour!

Had a very lovely afternoon travelling around the beautiful Northern Rhone. Our guide Justine was very knowledgeable and welcoming. We tried some excellent wines t 2 great wineries. We stopped to take pictures of the views in Côte Rôtie. The tour was not rushed in any way. We took our time to try the and discuss the wines. The wineries we visited were small independent ones with a great history of the Côte Rôtie and Condrieu appellations. Well worth it!

Justine was great; friendly, knowledgeable and accomdating. We went to two wineries that were completely different in style, size and wine varieties and Justine explained the differences between the wines we tasted. She even went out of her way to tailor the wines we tasted to reflect the preferences of the group, so we were able to taste a white Chagteauneuf du pape (that none of us even knew existed). We saw and learned about the Rhone Valley and the Cote Roti and really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Justine!

A really excellent tour. Justine the tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly. She made the tour with her encyclopaedic knowledge of French wine and its production . It was a very pleasant way to spend a morning.
