We were very excited about this tour as we loved the idea of hiking to a remote pool and going for a swim with a beautiful view. We kind of thought of it as similar to the cenotes in Mexico but on a cliff. It was unbelievably hot on the walk through the woods and it was only at the halfway point that we were told that we couldn't actually swim in the pool as it was dirty after all the recent rains (we had to ask as the guide did not mention anything either during the 1 hour drive to the pool or during the hike to that point). I am really not sure what the point of this tour is if not to swim in the pool. During the walk, our guide talked on the phone for most of the time (and while driving as well which was concerning). She did not provide any information about the history of the pool (geological or otherwise) or any botanical info or even give us information about how much further etc. I used my phone GPS to triangulate distance and time. My mom and I eventually turned back after walking about 30 mins in the heat and humidity AND after we were told that we wouldn't be able to swim in the pool. My husband and daughter continued on to the pool and were totally underwhelmed. The pool did not look like the photos at all and it is challenging to get down to it from the top of the rocks. Our guide was a bit nonplussed about the fact that despite the description in the listing: "Your guide takes you on a short hike to reach the pool, then you have time to jump, swim, and enjoy the cool waters before heading back" that this was not actually possible all the time. We would have appreciated knowing this before we started out. Our guide also didn't really seem prepared for any sort of emergency - no water, no first aid kit. This was in stark contrast to the other guides we had used during the week who were all very professional, seemed quite focused on the tour and made sure to point out their emergency kits, cold water and other amenities. It should be noted that this tour was more expensive than the full day island tour which I truly do not understand. Strongly recommend asking about the condition of the pool before confirming the tour and make sure you have your own water and emergency first aid kits. As a final note, the hike lasts about 45 - 60 mins and is very overgrown in parts, uphill and not very well marked, rock scrambles at the end and slippery rocks. It is definitely an easy/moderate hike except the heat is awful and it was not enjoyable at all. All in all it was very disappointing.

Kevin was so brilliant - the pick up was smooth, the drive down there was lovely and he was so friendly! He also shared so much local knowledge with me - the hike was beautiful, not too difficult but just challenging enough. I would definitely recommend going with a guide rather than going solo - I imagine if you don't know the way it's probably very easy to get lost, so this trip is perfect! The rockpool was beautiful too and swimming in it was lovely in the sun! I'd highly recommend this trip :) Thanks Kevin!

Kevin was friendly and fun. A great tour guide! Sheena was very easy to communicate with and replied promptly to all my messages.
Everything was as described. Tour left and came back on time.
The hike is easy. The view is splendid.

Really a unique thing to do - our guide, Kevin, was very knowledgeable and experienced. Approximately 1.5 km easy hike - a steep climb up some ladders at the end. Walking shoes a must especially for gripping onto the rocks near the pool. Recommend water shoes for kids as the rocks around the pool are quite rough. We went with our 10 year old and it was great - I don’t think it’s suitable for young children. We had a great time jumping in - lovely experience.

I usually book tours with Viator on my travels.
Last week I booked a tour with this operator (Rock pool, fantastic & unique experience | Mahé | Private walking tour | NEW) and I desperately called, SMSed (as instructed) and emailed the operator (in addition to contacting Viator for help, and they too received no response) using the contact details provided and there was no response for 2-3 days AT ALL!!
As a last resort I also finally WhatsApped an hour before the tour and the operator clung on to this to say that's when I first contacted them.
I showed them the log of calls and emails and they replied with insults, calling me a liar and stupid!! How can they deal with customers in this manner?!
I contacted Viator about this and was told that "the tour cannot be cancelled" as if that was the issue, and with no further explanation or refund after I informed them that I did not go on the tour due to the impossibility to contact the operator for 3 days.
I told them I can provide logs of the countless calls, texts and emails, including the insults, but they did not even care to see these and just rejected any responsibility and did not offer any help or support (let alone refund).
I will only book with Viator again if there are no alternative options, and even then I will think twice to avoid wasting money and time and being insulted.
Very stressful and costly experience on my holiday (I was charged nearly USD 200 for the stress, insults, and no tour!! Plus the time wasted to liaise with Viator and the operator and not being provided with any support in return).

To summarize:
You had booked 2 tours:
- Island Tour 11.07.22 / 12am (booked on the 04.07.22 without any pickup information)
- Rockpool Tour 12.07.22 / 2pm (booked on the 04.07.22 without any pickup information)
We confirmed both tours at 05.07.22 through Viator, you did not respond.
On 10.07.22 we still had no answer where we can pick you up for the next day. We wrote to you by SMS.
Then in the night (1:39am / 11.07.22) you told via SMS and via Viator it is B Holidays apartment.
Kevin was nevertheless punctually at 12am on the agreed date on 11.07.22 with you and the B Holidays Apartment.
The island tour took place, there were no problems, even if you tried 8 times on the wrong number to reach us before tour start.
We had already confirmed the tour via Viator in writing with the time, a renewed query therefore made no sense. Again, we were punctual at 12am on 11.07.22 there, the island tour took place, there were no problems or complaints about this tour.
On 12.07.22 the Rockpool tour should start at 2pm, so you booked it, so we confirmed it. We were there on time, Kevin was.
You tried to reach us again before from 1pm on the wrong number as well as Sheena's number. You tried to tell us that you could not make the tour today.
Kevin showed up at 2pm at the B Holidays apartment, you told him you wanted to postpone the tour.
You try to reach Sheena again to tell her as well.
We were unfortunately fully booked and couldn't offer an alternative. We are also no longer obligated, because we have followed all the booking details, we were there on time, ready to start the tour but you did not cancel the tour in time (24 hours before the tour starts).
Fact is: 1 hour before (1pm) the start of the tour you tried to reach us, which is clearly too late. It is and can therefore not be 3 days that you have tried to reach us or viator for a cancellation of the Rockpool tour for, 12.07.22. It's not the truth! And this are what i said to you on our WhatsApp chat. Its not an insult!
You are getting things completely mixed up, because you made one day before (11.07.22) the Island Tour with us, you was in contact with us, you could cancel the tour for the next day (12.07.22), could say anything, so how come it was 2-3 days you couldn't contact us?

This hike is absolutely amazing! Even though I was the only one of my group of friends to jump in the rock pool, the hike itself provides gorgeous views and Kevin was an great guide.
