What To Expect

Receive a pickup from your Manaus hotel. Your departure time will depend on whether you’ve selected a morning or afternoon trip option. You’ll meet your English-speaking tour guide and then head to the INPA Botanical Garden.

Learn about the plant-focused research of this nature park, which is dedicated to investigating practical, medical, and scientific applications for Amazonian plant life. You’ll also get to visit the park’s aquatic area, where you can observe freshwater turtles, manatees, alligators, and electric eels.

Then travel by car to the Military Zoo, also known as The Military Welfare and Jungle Survival Center. Check out jungle land-dwellers like black, and spotted, jaguars, along with anacondas, tapirs, and an aquarium stocked with local fish like the “pirarucus.” You’ll finish the day with a drop-off back at your Manaus hotel.

We did this tour on the same day as the Historical City tour after a lunch near the Opera House. Rudolpho again was our guide as we toured the Military Zoo and the Botanical Garden. He is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and speaks good English.
