Overview

Enjoy bird’s-eye views of Morocco’s deserts and the foothills of the Atlas Mountains on a sunrise hot-air balloon ride from Marrakech. Ride a 4x4 to the launch spot in the early morning and drift through the dawn skies over the desert valleys and hillsides just as the sun casts them in gold, orange and pink. What To Expect

Rise early and leave your Marrakech hotel by 4x4 with your guide. Relax inside the air-conditioned vehicle as you travel to the launch site in time for your balloon ride.

On arrival, boost your energy with pastries, tea, and coffee and look on as your experienced crew prepares your balloon. Climb into the spacious basket for takeoff. Each basket accommodates up to 16 people, and there’s ample room for you to sightsee comfortably as you fly.

Thrill as your balloon rises into the skies and ogle the aerial views of the desert as you float through the air. Take photos of the rocky valleys and peaks as your pilot steers your balloon over the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.

Touch down safely back to ground then, take a seat in a tent overlooking the mountains and savor a delicious breakfast of Berber staples such as cornbread, pancakes, olives, fresh fruit, and mint tea.

Having enjoyed breakfast, take a camel ride around the sandy lanes of the Palmeraie desert complex next to the camp.

Receive a commemorative flight certificate to mark your balloon ride, and return to your Marrakech hotel by 4x4 to end your trip.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

What an experience on Xmas day. Brilliant service from confirmation call night before. Pick up on the morning and taken out to launch site. Coffee pasties before ride and the balloon ride was so memorable and worth every camels was excellent highly recommend and worth every dirham. Very professional and would do it again. The views are stunning and for some one who does not like heights was not a problem so peacefull and majestic. Thankyou

Less enjoyable experience

The view is great, however the the heat from the engine is burning our skin, which makes the experience less enjoyable. The noise coming from the heat engine is also unpleasant. The camel ride was shorter than expected and no bottle of water served. The driver was kind but in a hurry so the bamps were unpleasant throughout the pick ups.

This was a birthday gift to myself and it was amazing! From start to finish. First we were contacted to meet at 530am but because of poor reception we never got the message. Not to worry I called and the owner called back, walked me through were to meet him, he personally picked us up and drove us to the balloon 🎈 launch site. Wasn't until later where he showed me the text where he tried to reach us. That alone he could of canceled our reservation or left us. But he didn't. He was so very kind and personable. Even but me and my friend in a spectacular basket 🧺 with a Moroccan superstar and his star 🌟 pilot. Lina is the youngest Ballon pilot in Morocco 🇲🇦 and a complete joy. She wasn't a bad DJ either. I can't say enough. The almond crescent to pregame and an assortment of warm goodies after the ride. No detail was left out. Then a very nice jaunt threw the 🏜 desert on a 🐫.. We even met some cool people along the way that gave us great recommendations for other things to do while in Marrakesh. I would highly recommend 👌🏾 10 out of 10!

Sunrise Over The Atlas Mountains

This tour is wonderful especially if you go in the early morning. You’ll be able to watch the sunrise over the Atlas Mountains. The views are breathtaking and you’ll have wonderful photos/memories to last a lifetime. Dress warm since the mornings can be a little chilly.

Beautiful but not what I expected

The views are beautiful. I am giving this a 4 out of 5 however because there were no other balloons in the sky during our ride which was very disappointing. It also would have been better to ride at sunrise but we went up 2 hours after sunrise. The camel ride was only 15 minutes which was quite short. For the price, I am not sure if this excursion was worth it but it was nice to do as a one time thing.

This was fantastic experience and I am so glad we did it. Sanchos our guide was fabulous and so chatty. The breakfast and camel ride that followed was fabulous as well. We were taken home by Rade another pilot and he told us so much about the culture and traditions on Morocco. Highly recommend to spend a morning on that and you still have rest of the day to do something else.

A fantastic experience that will live long in the memory

I would highly recommend this trip. We are a family of 4, with kids aged 10 and 13. We all loved it and felt that it will be a memory of a lifetime. Hot air balloon part: The flight was epic - possibly due to excellent weather - with the Atlas Mountains lit up by sunrise a spectacular sight to see. The pilot, whose name I've currently lost, was excellent. He was both funny and informative, and also knew when not to talk too. The flight felt safe, with the pilot being aware to potential dangers - e.g. children climbing up the sides, other balloons, etc. Beber breakfast: I loved it - a nice setting and nicely made foods. The children were a bit 50/50 about it. This was not a major part of the trip though. Camel ride: Whilst in Marrakech I had been on numerous runs, passing lots of groups of camels. During this time I had only photographed one group of camels, the ones that I felt looked best cared for. Coincidentally these happened to be the ones that we rode! I point this out because we were all concerned about how we'd feel about the welfare of the animals. That may be a consideration for others too. We really enjoyed the ride, which also provided an experience that will live long in the memory. The only extra bits of information that I'd share: 1. We were picked up at 0520, not 0600 - this enabled sunrise and was well worth it. 2. The coffee and pastries before the hot air ride was extremely rushed and a bit of a bun fight.

Most Amazing experience, very well organised by the provider in Marakkesh from pickup to frop off. Only issue was Viator not giving clear information at the booking stage.

Great time in the air with pilot Angel (what a character!) and a great driver from pickup to the camels. Good filling breakfast too. Be prepared to wake early (0430am) and finished for us around 0930.

Fantastic from start to finish. We were very well looked after and the experience was very thoughtful including the amazing location we were taken to to meet our balloons, hot drinks and pastries on arrival and then a local breakfast when we landed. Our pilot was excellent. Wonderful experience.
