What To Expect

After pickup from your Marrakech hotel—or in Jemaa el-Fna square if you’re staying in the car-free medina—head out into the Atlas Mountains. If you’ve booked the private tour, you have a guide and vehicle just for your group; if not, you share a guide and transport.

Spend the morning exploring the mountains. Eat an included breakfast, inhale views of Mt. Toubka and rugged valleys, hike to some waterfalls, visit Berber villages including Aroumd, and drink mint tea with a Berber family. Get the chance to ride a camel and visit a women’s cooperative processing argan oil products from argan nuts.

Your lunch of tagine with fruit, salad, and mineral water is at your own expense. Afterwards, continue to the rocky Agafay Desert to savor a desert sunset with a cup of mint tea before you return to your Marrakech hotel or the square.

Mouhamed Larbi took us on a very informative trek through the Atlas Mountains. Along with our drivers Ismail and Saaid, he gave us great insight into the history of the Berber people. The waterfall was gorgeous and the tangine was amazing. The best I’ve had in Morocco. Great day overall and I woul recommend to anyone traveling here.

Memorable Atlas mountain trip
Caroline_M, Apr 2024
Fabulous, memorable day with our excellent guide Ibrahim. Highlights were the serene and atmospheric camel ride, and the beautiful hike to the waterfalls. Ibrahim gave us great insights into the life of the local Berbers.

Amazing experience

Fantastic must book trip! To start the day our driver Abdul Latif picked us up from the hotel and made us feel at ease straight away. He was very involved and engaging. Abdul Latif spent a lot of time telling us about the local history and monuments which we appreciated. Mohammed our tour guide for Atlas Mountains was an absolute hod send and the hike to the waterfalls wouldn’t have happened without him. Mohammed and Abdul made a great team
nice morning/early afternoon out of busy town

It was nice but nothing special. Quality of the tour highly depends on which guide you end up getting. Ours was not too chatty while other groups seemed to have better guides. Also the lunch was not worth the money compared to what you get at other places. It was nice and still worth the price tho but nothing too mesmerising
100% Recommend

This tour was fantastic. One of the best we have done. We did a private tour and were not rushed at all. We got to make as many stops for pictures as we wanted and our guide Ahmed was the absolute best. Would do this again in a heart beat.
Overall a decent experience

Very good driver and tour guide. Everything felt a bit rushed. We trekked up to the waterfalls only to be allowed 10 minutes to take photos.. The trek to the waterfall in parts is treacherous however once you get there it is underwhelming. Drive to the dessert was scenic however once we got there we had a 10 minute camel ride and were then dropped back to the hotel. The lunch was lovely. Overall a decent experience.

Fantastic day of learning, nature, amazing scenery and fun with the camels
julia_f, Apr 2024
Our guide was fabulous. Arranged a pick up right outside the Riad. It was a full day learning about artisan products and immersed in nature. The lunch was the best meal we had in Marrakech by a long way (including the usual top rated venues in the Medina). The van was very smart and comfortable and the drive not too long between stops. The hike up to the waterfall was great - felt like you got out for some exercise but not exhausting. We learned a lot and were in awe of the scenery. We’re from the uk so it was warm for us!
Overall the tour was very affordable and good value.

We really enjoyed the camel ride and the hike to the water fall. The guide to the water fall was very helpful and knowledge able. The lunch was especially good. Our tour guide Ismail was very friendly and the driver Ibrahim was a good driver and courteous. Just a little note, the seatbelts in the front passenger seats didn't work properly.
Great day up in the mountains

We enjoyed our tour. Our guide Abdul Nidali was knowledgeable about the history and was very personable. I recommend this tour for everyone!!
Hiking in the Atlas Mountains
Olufemi_A, Apr 2024
A great day out. Fully enjoyed our trip to the Mountains and taking in the serenity and beauty of the waterfalls. The driver, Moustafah, was fantastic with his stories of the adjoining villages and towns, while our guide's, Abdel, insights on the cultures, the fauna and Flora surrounding the mountains was great. The whole trip is highly recommended 👌.
Nice Family Day Trip!
Adrienne_O, Apr 2024
Excellent day trip. They were very punctual. The camel ride was very nice. They provided the clothes and the camel ride was short enough for the kids. It was nice to do the hike and see the waterfalls. Got back in time for dinner.
Perfect tour for families
Valerio_G, Mar 2024
Very nice tour, we are a family with two kids, 8 and 11 years old, I strongly recommend this tour for families. The hiking is around 6 Km to get to the waterfalls and then to the Berber village, which is an authentic one and where we ate the best tajine! The camel ride is short but really enjoyable and perfect for kids.. The visit to the argan oil cooperative was nice. We made a few other small stops for panoramic views and explanations. The tour guide Youssef was great and the driver drove safely and was very nice.
Very good tour which...

Great trip to the waterfalls
Shawn_M, Mar 2024
Ibrahim was fantastic, very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information, the tour was amazing we started of my being picked up from our hotel (which we had to change as we moved hotel) the transport was very comfortable and clean, Ibrahim introduced himself and explained we had a couple of stops to make, once we had collected everyone Ibrahim outlined the day and answered any questions from the group. Our first stop was to the camels ride which was something I had never done before and I enjoyed it we also had tea after. Then we moved on to the women Co - op and we had breakfast which was bread, honey, peanut butter and oils. This was a great experience but there are no prices on products in the shop so ask before you buy as we only had limited money, they take card but love cash. Then we moved onto the waterfall which when you get there is beautiful but the hike to get there is hard going, Ibrahim was very good at checking on the group and stopping when needed especially for me who was at the back struggling lol. After the trip to the waterfall we went for lunch at a local restaurant, the food was lovely which was 70 dir each but there was 3 courses did leave wanting more food. Then we were drop back to our hotel. We was pick up at 8:30 and got back At 17:30 so this was a whole day event. Ibrahim was absolutely fantastic, his knowledge was so insightful and really made the visit and I hope you get him too

Very nice trip good guide Red Oun very gentle and funny, i recomend to try, is a 7 hours trip, and you vizit many places, we went with the camels and visit the place where the argan is made by hand, and a nice woman explained to us very kindly how the argan oil is made, we had a little breakfast with argan made there and then we went to the little waterfalls, then then we had the lunch with a marvellous views to the mountain

Best travel experience with one of the kindest, very professional And considerate guide. We had the pleasure to explore the culture and traditions of the local people thanks to our guide Youssef Kamchad. Highly recommend !
Highly recommend the beautiful experience in the colorful mountains
Robin_E, Mar 2024
The experience has been fantastic from start to finish. I can highly recommend it for anyone interested in discovering the colorful beauty of the mountainous landscape, the Berber communities and the multifaceted terrain. The trip was very well organized and we didn't have to worry about a single thing and could therefore fully enjoy the experience. Our tourguide Babala has been fantastic! Many thanks
A great tour with brilliant guide & driver.

A great trip & superb value for money. Our guide Yousef was excellent, along with the driver. Great scenery & lots of things to do, could not recommend this more highly. Thank you guys for sharing your country & culture on this day.
Great day trip to the Atlas Mountains
Nick_J, Mar 2024
Great day out with Ishmail as guide. Very informative with great photo stops, a Camel (in fact dromedary as explained By Ishmail ) ride, breakfast in a women’s cooperative making Argan Oil and then a one hour walk and lunch. A lot crammed into a single day and really worth it. Heart rending earthquake damage still visible - the tourism is helping the rebuilding process as region very dependent on visitors.
